This place has really good hamburger and fries options. It's a small menu and so easy for them to get perfect every time and for people to work their way through their menu and find a favorite. The only problem is good luck being able to call in to place an order. They seem to have only one line and it's always busy during dinner time. My friends and I have tried ordering sever times only to give up and ordering from somewhere else, this is with us being patient trying to get through for 30min. I'd suggest having a plan b for dinner, call once or twice and if you get through great! Otherwise go for your plan b after you've grown tired of trying to call in. Their buffalo sauce smothered chicken sandwiches, wings, and turkey burgers are impressive. But my favorite, are their burgers paired with a side of seasoned fries. My go to is the backyard style with ketchup, mayo, mustard, onions, tomato, and two angus patties. The angus burgers are messy, juicy, and delicious. The 3 stars are for the burgers. The burgers are really really good. That's all. Everything else was not good. The chili cheese fries had no flavor and did not satisfy at all. The sodas they make there are terribly sweet and we couldn't even finish them. Service was kind of cheeks honestly. A bunch of younger people that don't have the best customer service skills. I would order by phone next time and just a burger. The burger is worth the 3 stars though. Also they take a while to cook the burgers which is fine. It's worth the wait. The fact that it's cold out they sit the fries by the window under a heat lamp until the rest of your order is ready doesn't help. Asked for the burger patties well done. Very good food! We stopped here on a whim, knew nothing about the place. We're not from around the area but from the looks of it we thought the place looked like it could potentially have good food. We were right! We ordered the Grub Burger and Harvey Burger and made it a meal. My teen thought it was the best burger he's ever had in his entire life! I loved the fries. This is one of the best burgers I have ever had. I think the stand out feature is the meat quality and preparation. The meat is seasoned and cooked well, and the toppings accentuate that main feature. The grilled bun, I think brioche, completes the sandwich. I also really enjoyed the garlic Parmesan fries. They reminded me of Dodger stadium, but a quarter of the price. This feels like a real Downey local favorite. TL;DR If you like In n Out's animal style fries, try the Stewart fries! I think I like them better than In n Out's, but I'm too scared to admit it to myself. I feel obligated to disclose this dilemma to y'all. Chili burger was good too, but the fries keep me coming back. Tried the Harvey burger and the Stewart fries. Both of these items were inspired by In N Out. The Harvey burger was decent. It was essentially an animal style cheeseburger. Tasted a bit bland. Beef patty could have used some seasoning and a bit more spread would have been welcomed. I wouldn't order this one again as is. The Stewart fries on the other hand were delicious. The fries were crispy and smothered in spread and topped off with grilled onions and crispy bacon. The addition of bacon to this Cali classic was great and I highly recommend these if you enjoy the animal style fries from In N Out. Staff was friendly and food didn't take long to come out (~8 mins). There is a little bit of space to eat standing if you'd like. This location seems to be near a school. I came by for a late lunch and there were kids everywhere. I don't mind the loudness but if you do, that might be something to keep in mind (don't come around 3!). Just a heads up that this plaza has one way parking only so be aware and try to enter from the side where Stewart and Grub is located. I entered from the other side and mistakes were made. They have a variety of burgers and include a BYO option. The meat Pattie's here are seasoned pretty well and they the vegetables are fresh. I added an egg to my burger and that yolk that oozes out in the first bite made me a fan of this burger. It was cold so I got a side of chili and it was pretty addicting with the fries. This place looks like a staple of the community. It gives the vibe of an old style, grab-and-go, burger joint. Which I truly liked. There's somewhat room to seat there, but honestly, unless you don't mind the sound of two busy streets next to you, you're better off to make your order to go. The young lady who to took my order was professional and polite. She told me that it would be about ten minutes (or at least I think that's what I heard over traffic) until my order to be ready. No problem. That only means that it's going to be made fresh. Surprisingly it only took about 3 minutes. I only ordered their signature burger, the Grub Burger. The entire burger did taste like it was freshly made and a decent size at that.....but....the meat was over seasoned with salt. They also have alcohol at this location, next time I go I will try a drink. As far as the burgers and fries go, they are absolutely delicious. I ordered the Harvey burger and it practically melts in your mouth. The patty is good quality meat that's neither too thick nor too thin. The sauce they use is great tasting, not sure what their secret is. Tastes kind of like In N Outs sauce but better. I ordered the Steward fries which comes with sauce, cheese, and bacon... sooooooo delicious. Everything had such a great flavor. Love the fries and love how safe they are during these times - you can tell they really take the Covid precautions seriously. My strong guess is that I haven't tried my favorite thing on the menu yet. We've only been a couple times and are still exploring and trying it out. You can tell they really care about being great at what they do and offering great food to their clientele. It's nothing fancy or extravagant, it's just good, really well made food that a lot of care was put into. To that end it takes them a while to make so I'd highly recommend calling in your order. This to me is another plus though. It weirds me out when a burger is ready in 2 minutes.
