After renewing my driver license from the DMV in Bell Gardens I was really hungry and craving for a cheeseburger combo one my favorite meals I enjoy the best. I check on my Yelp to any hamburger stand around Bell Gardens but one just couple minutes away on Gage Ave called Jolly Boy Burgers. I got there fast to the restaurant with no problem the restaurant looks clean and they a very patio for sunny day like today. I step then a look at the menu display on the t.v. monitors ,the menu pops to different items in the menu sometimes it hard to look at the menu when it moves. I decided to order the cheeseburger combo comes with fries and a drink they serve Pesi products at the restaurant. The restaurant is average size with a patio. The waitress brought my cheeseburger combo were I'm sitting at the combo looks really good. I took some of the fries they werevery crunchy taking a bite of it plus season well with seasoning salt add it a good flavor to the fries that I really like. The cheeseburger was pretty good just a average cheeseburger like the other burger joints I have been to it have the same flavors to the burger places. Overall I enjoy the cheeseburger combo good flavor from the cheeseburger and fries were very addictive with seasoning salt that make fries irresistible. read more

Good solid burger combo reasonably priced. Better than McDons or Jack!!! This is my 3rd time stopping here on the way home. Came in and had a bacon double cheeseburger with extra cheese. It came with a good amount of fries and small Pepsi for $20 - can't beat that! . Burger was a good size, well seasoned, very tasty. Fries well seasoned generously portioned. Lady is super nice. I ordered the pastrami sandwich combo and paid $22.38! I was shocked at the price but my fault for not asking since the prices weren't listed (I live in Vegas and was expecting $18 tops). I got my sandwich and it was tasteless the pastrami was soo dried it had the consistency kinda like baconand the bread was hard. This isn't go to spot because it is so close to my house. The food is good and prices are decent but the service from this one staff member is horrible . I provide better customer service than she does . Every time you ask her for something she always just rolls her eyes . I'm honestly tired of it and will rather make the longer drive. I must say, this place shocked me. It was so good. I ordered a cheeseburger with extra cheese. My first bite was delicious. There was lots of flavor and seasoning on the meat. The cheese was actually melted and gooey. A lot of places don't wait for the cheese to melt and I get a lot of cheeseburgers with cold cheese on them. I was so happy that there was thick tomato! There was generous, crunchy lettuce, onion and pickles. The burger was thick and cost $6 with change. I thought it was so much better than Jim's. Jim's burgers are more bland, not thick, cold cheese and cost over $8. I thought it was much better than Astro burger in Montebello. Astro gave me a less seasoned burger with cold cheese. I've been coming here for many years now and work just across the street. Food is always on point and you get a lot of it. Yes, the pricing has gone up but everything has in the area. Staff is always friendly and I can say I've never had a bad experience here. The recent remodel looks great as well. read more

Jolly boys is better than any famous burger cain that you know their food is times better every single part of it their burger are amazing, their chili cheese fries are heavenly also along with their 1000 island sauce. They literally drive thru takes 30-40 minutes for a simple order If i could i would put no stars !!!! Food is good, service is terrible!!!!!! Overall I love this place, i live down the street and go with my siblings or family sometimes, I think the cheeseburgers are really soft and yummy and the service is usually the best, but today my experience was weird, the service was 4/10 and here's why, so I had asked if they put mayonnaise in the grilled chicken sandwich and the worker I believe her name was Ingrid said no they don't, then my dad got his sandwich and it had mayo in it when I was told they don't put any so once my dad told her she tried saying that I had asked if they put onion when I clearly didn't and she had a rude attitude trying to say to my dad "next time she needs to ask no mayonnaise because she said onion" but I didn't so i don't know how she heard onion when i had said mayonnaise, then my dad asked if they could make it again which they did but the first time the cook had used their hands but they used tongs for the first order that originally came out, so my dad asked why they would do that and the worker said "he's a cook" with a rude tone then she told the cook in Spanish what he had said, the cook tried to get a new piece of chicken but my dad said it was fine he just didn't understand why he wouldn't use the tongs, then the cook proceeded to still get a new piece of chicken and showed my dad the chicken he was gonna cook again, when he got the chicken with his tongs he looked at my dad and showed him the chicken in the air before putting it down, which I think is pretty childish and rude. read more

Been visiting friends in LA. Jolly Boy is around the corner from my friends house. I move from California to Carson City Nevada. I can't get a Char Broiled Burger Like Jolly Boy has. Only thing I miss about California is all the great Burger Stands. Jolly Boy is one of them. Burger is delicious, Fries are crispy and perfectly salty. Chill Fries very good, chill has a nice kick. Pastrami sandwich I had was greasy, but meat was tasty. Been in LA for week and everyday I've been getting a burger and fries. Looking forward to getting back to Carson City. Service was UNACCEPTABLE!! We arrived to dine in at 745PM and were told by female Cashier that the Lobby was already closed. So we ended up eating outside by our Jeep. As we were eating, two young ladies came in and sat in the lobby. They were welcomed in by the cook (maybe they were friends) ?? Nonetheless it was unacceptable to deny us (a family of four) dine in service. Will never return and do not advise to eat here. Save your money and your time and go to MCDs instead!! read more

This was such a great experience today. I stopped here for some lunch before work again. The lady at the cash register was very willing to work with me on my order of a sandwich that was all veggie with no meat. Today's sandwich was a surprise with cucumbers added today. I like changing things up and today was definitely a change. The fries from here are always hot and salty, just the way I like them. They also heat up really well making them great left overs. This place is a classic greasy spoon just like the one from my hometown with no frills dinning. Just friendly people, good, hot food, and lots of Jerry Springer to enjoy (that's about the time frame that I visit).
