Nice place looks like a locals lunch place. As for the Barista they could use a lesson in making espresso type drinks like the Cappuccino I ordered today. We all know few understand the froth and milk parts of these drinks but when you shell out the same $4 as you would at Starbucks and specifically ask for it dry and after 10 minutes waiting you are handed a milkshake it remind you why these types of places come and go while Starbucks is still there. read more

We brought our 3 children to brunch for our first visit to this restaurant, one being our adopted Asian daughter We sat down to wait for the food and there was no silverware at the table yet. The male owner realized this, ran up and inquired, "did you bring your own chopsticks?" He may have just been trying to be funny, but it hurt our daughter's feelings and ours. Cute little bistro! Staff is very friendly and attentive. I had the chocolate chip pancakes, and the two others I was with has the roast beef panini and meatloaf sandwich. The roast beef panini had no sauce on it so my husband asked for horseradish and said it made it a lot better. The meatloaf sandwich was good too. I usually don't like coffee places, but my teenage daughter found this place and wanted to go. Coffee was excellent and hot. French Toast was great as well as the omelette. Wait staff were courteous and helpful. Manager/Owner was friendly and assured his customers were happy. Nice cozy atmosphere. I will be back soon. read more

My first visit to this place was great. I had the French toast and bacon...terrific. My wife's bacon, egg and cheese biscuit was one of the best she ever had. Staff was polite and efficient. The decor is also very nice. I like the fact that it is locally owned and operated...not a chain. Owners came over and chatted for a few minutes. Seem like nice folks. We will be back. read more

Food was tasty. Had breakfast. A bit of identity crisis. Not really a coffee shop. Not set up to sip coffee. Tables and chairs. Not a sit down restaurant. Order and sit. They bring your food. I had heard great things and I was not disappointed when I gave it a try! I had eggs, bacon, and grits all cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. Some breakfast places have good breakfasts but bad coffee (Panera and most breakfast places) and some places have good coffee (Starbucks, if you're one of the fans) but bad breakfasts. Stewart's Bistro has both. The attention to detail is startling--including wrapped coffee stirrers, free wifi, a printer (also free) to use with your laptop, solid handsome oak tables, excellent food, and an owner who walks around tirelessly making sure no one waits too long for anything. I love veggie omelets, the chicken and waffles, and the burgers so far. I also asked once for a spinach and feta omelet, my fave, and the counter person said, "Of course!"--even though it is not even listed on the chalk board menu. (And it was as good as any I've ever had.) There's nothing pretentious here, yet everyone makes you feel special. Children are welcome. And so are computer toting lingerers (but don't take advantage if they're full--which is likely at peak eating times. The owner, Leanne, even leaves out a copy of the paper to read with your meal, if you come alone. read more

I so want to like this place. The owner is there everyday and works her behind off. The staff is young, inexperienced, but still talented, eager to perform and polite. They offer eggs which is great, for some reason I find a lot of restaurants in the south don't, with the exception of waffle house, Dennys, etc and the small mom and pops that do usually have some premade frozen homefries that are edible but just. Stewarts serves homefries that are made in house and are really good to be honest, just a small portion 1/2 to 3/4 of a potato?. The eggs are good also, won't be surprised to find out they are grade or two above the standard, I would be surprised if they were free range organic, but good none the less. Bacon or sausage and a single piece of toasted bread. Bacon is so-so and sausage has a decent flavor but a unusually soft texture. Add a single cup of coffee (bottomless coffee add another dollar) and a dollar tip (10 percent for counter service) and you're at $11 - $12. If the coffee was bottomless and there were 2 pieces of toast and a slightly larger portion of potatoes I would be okay with it. Out of everything I had there this is the best thing I've had, omlette coming in a close second but these are both terribly simple dishes. The chicken salad, Reuben, meatloaf sandwich, burger, chicken and waffles are all underwhelming and fairly bland. I'm trying my hardest like I said I really, really want to like this establishment. The shrimp and grits really prompted this review, never have I had another shrimp and grits like it and I've had quite a few. It was so sour, almost like red wine vingear?, it also had summer sausage? and flakes of parmesan cheese. Maybe mine was off, maybe I'm mislead into believing it should be a rich butter dish, but I'm afraid if she doesn't get someone in the kitchen with a palate and basic cooking techniques she might find it hard to maintain her current clientele. I find it somewhat hard to believe because I think a few of the cooks were there when it was Blue Fin. Everything, the owner/chef sent out of the kitchen was good if not great, he must have passed some breadth of knowledge to the kitchen help. He didn't serve eggs though and he charged more but to be fair you got more food. Maybe even watching some of Chef John's food wishes dishes could help the cooks to really put Stewarts back on the right track. I really want this place to be the hottest spot in WF and feel like it really could be. read more
