Prompt: scheduled same day to replace a broken toilet. Was in and out quickly and left everything clean and ready to go. Only cost $130 and was a stress free experience. Only mark against the company was they have a window from 12-2 and we called at 2 because he had not showed up yet. Came at ~3 and we work from home. I booked Stewart's plumbing for a small residential job, involving declogging a sink and fixing a cold faucet that was stuck. They made sure to call me before the technician arrived (rather than just giving me a generic 4-hour window) -- Jeremiah arrived on-time and listened as I explained the problem. He worked diligently and allowed me to inspect the work after he was finished -- even leaving the area just as clean as it was before. I'm giving them 5 stars because Jeremiah went above and beyond by also trying to resolve another problem (the low pressure on the hot faucet) that I didn't even mention. We are extremely happy with the services provided by Stewart's De Rooting & Plumbing. We had a water faucet problem in the bathroom over the weekend. We called them early Monday. They scheduled us on a same day. They were very professional to call and inform us that the technician is running behind. Our technician was Jeremiah, he was very polite, expert and professional. We had a major back up from our main line that was causing a disgusting back up in a bathtub that was at the lowest point in the house. Called Stewart's yesterday and within 20 minites, Chris showed up, ready to roll! He wore a mask the entire time, troubleshot the issue as we have a weird plumbing set up with a Y shaped point where two sides of the plumbing in the house come together (I didn't even realize this),and had the problem solved. He cleared the roots and debris blockage and even cleaned out the mess in the tub so I didn't have to. All for a super reasonable price. I honestly could not be happier with the service we received and will be sure to call them for any future issues we have. read more

Stewart's is the best out there. I don't normally write too many reviews but I felt that they deserve some credit. They came out for a clogged toilet, pulled back some roots and recommended a hydrojet to clean all the roots out. I told them I wanted to wait to do the jetting, I was being cheap. haha. Low and behold my toilet backed up again!! I called the office and spoke to one of the gals in there. She explained that there was no warranty because of the roots, which I knew (They write it clearly on their invoice). They came out and jetted the line and it has been working just fine for months now. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with all of their plumbers and office staff! I have a 35 year old toilet that started to wobble. Jesus stopped by (on time , quick response) and showed me that the two support bolts holding the toilet down had rusted away. The plate that the bolts had attached to had rusted away. He gave me a temp fix and returned with new plate. I appreciated how he would show me the before (rusted plate) and after (he installed new plate) . One minor issue: Jesus left the bathroom cleaner than when he started! My wife asked me if I could keep it that clean! "Yes Dear!" :-) Great experience. And very timely. read more

We were referred to this company and they are indeed very good and nice! The plumber came in within the time window I was told and started working on it right away. I have been waiting for these idiots since 11:30 this morning. When they said they'd be here between 2:00 and 4:00. Just like Coxuckers cable! No one showed up until 4:45. No one called to say they would be late and that they were sorry. If they could've at least been honest with me, I could have called another plumber. This is not OK. Do not use Stewart's De-Rooting. They do not give a sh-t about your problems. Apparently, they only have 1 plumber! The customer who called them this morning has been waiting since 11:30. His kitchen was flooded. He is a 98-year-old man. They were so not concerned for this customer, they could not even call to say that they wouldn't be there at 4:00. When I called them, the girl who answers the phone couldn't even cough up an apology. He's been waiting all day with a flooded kitchen! Shame on these bastards! read more

I had an experience very similar to the one listed by Rebecca (below). We had an emergency situation or I wouldn't have called them. My last experience with them was also a rip-off. But we were expecting company and we were desperate. This time I was charged $200 for a five minute visit to unplug a toilet. I complained on the spot and the plumber suddenly found a way to knock $50 off the bill. But it was still way too expensive. Stewart's used to be known for quality service. But a few years ago, the original owners sold the business. The new management doesn't seem to care about pleasing customers. I'll never use them again. read more

Chris, from Stewart's did a great job and saved us several hundred dollars. We were ready to replace a slow toilet. Chris suggested we pull the current toilet and check the drain pipe for obstructions; a problem a new toilet would not solve. Sure enough, a world class calcium deposit was the cause of our problem. I had a back up and called Stewart's De Rooting & Plumbing yesterday afternoon and the soonest they could come was the following day between 8 - 10 am. at 10:00 am I called to find out when they would be here and she put me on hold to call the plumber who was supposedly scheduled to come out. She said they couldn't get in touch with them. She said that she would have to call me back. About an hour later, I called back and she said that they still have not heard from the plumber. I rescheduled my whole day to accommodate the 8-10 window. Since I had not heard back, I called another rooter man who has good ratings. Guess what he will be here in 20 minutes. I will never use Stewart's again. They wasted my whole morning. This is a small town and I am in the position to refer contractors, plumbers, electricians, designers, etc. I will make sure to mention that Stewart's is unprofessional and do not understand scheduling. read more

I have an old main line that really should be replaced or relined as it is invaded with roots. I need it de-rooted every couple years and these guys are absolutely the best. They actually removed the roots instead of poke a hole which will need service again in a few months. Fair prices and no BS read more

Beware of Stewart's De-Rooting They used to be great. They lost most of their good people and now are sending out uninformed, unqualified workers (except for Chris). I had a clogged toilet, called Stewart's. One guy showed up, walked by an obvious clean-out, couldn't find problem. He got another guy and they ran a line through the vent, charged me $402.00. Two days later same problem. I called Stewart's to have them return and receptionist said they didn't guarantee their work, that I would have to pay for another call. Incredulous, I went to their office where the owner's wife and a receptionist told me that I didn't have a clean-out, (false - a very obvious one) and that they wouldn't send anyone out. I mentioned the power of reviews and they agreed to return. They sent Chris, who found and cleared tree roots, solving the problem. He said the previous guys had it all wrong. I suggest you avoid these people unless you can get Chris. read more

Offended when I called for service and the female who answered sounded like I'd interrupted her. She took my info (rather like she had to) and said the technician would call me back the next day. Needing same day service I called them back the following day, presumably the owner answered and put the technician on who had helped me a couple years ago. The technician was new then and very good. He listened to my story and said the person who answered the phone would schedule his appointment. I said okay. He handed the phone back to the man who answered the phone in the first place and he hung up the line! Too bad! There are a lot of other good plumbers in SB! AND then I immediately erased Stewart's plumbing from my contact's list. read more

They must be doing something right, as they are definitely too busy to help me. I made my first appointment easily enough. I called in and they gave me a three hour window. After arranging to pick my kids up early and take time off work I got a call with about half and hour left in the window saying that the plumber had a family emergency and that they would have to reschedule. Obviously that's too bad, and stuff happens. However they were not able to show up for the next window either. A call into their office assured me a plumber was headed to me from downtown (I live near turnpike, about 5-10 minutes away) at that very moment. Well 40 minutes later and they finally roll up. This service call was for about a 20 minute job. It cost a ton of time and money beyond the cost of service as a result of working with Stewart's. If you value your time seek elsewhere. read more

False Advertising. Their ad says that they never charge extra for weekends or holidays, however, when I called on a Sunday, I was told that they charged twice the usual fee on weekends. I asked about the ad, and they just dismissed it as "that must be an old ad." read more

Kudos for honesty. I've used Stewart's in the past for general derooting, and have been pleased with their service. Now having received a letter from the city requiring a sewer lateral inspection, I have to tip my hat to Stewart's. After checking with the city to ask about their preferred method for this inspection, Stewart's was up-front and honest about the method and cost involved. Unlike another "reputable" company I spoke with, scheduled the job with, only to find out when they got here that they wanted to charge nearly twice what Stewart's charges for just one portion of the job. read more

Chris from Stewarts came to the house today; on time. Actually a bit earlier than I expected....but well within the time told to me by the office. He introduced himself, shook my hand and went to work. What a difference over my last call; about a year ago. Chris went above and beyond to not only fix the problem (main line block) but to take the time to explain why it happened....and what I could do to prevent another occurrence in the future. Just extremely professional and VERY knowledgable. I made a note of Chris' name...and the next time I need a plumber....he is the one I am going to request. read more

I have used this company on several occasions, with mixed results. I paid them to have a hydrojet cleaning of my sewer line, but just 4 months later, the line was found to have extensive root growth. Though I paid over $500, they didn't cut out the root balls in the sewer line under the sidewalk and into the street. Instead, they recommended I spend $13,000 to dig up the street so they could do a trenchless replacement. "It is just going to keep getting roots growing into it" they said. Luckily Carroll Plumbing easily cut out the root growth and explained that even if I had to spend $120 a year clearing the line, it is a better plan than a $13,000 plumbing job - I agreed! Paying to have some root killer put into the line and let it sit overnight? That doesn't touch the roots growing from the top - they need to be cut out - very disappointed with Stewart's this time. read more

Horrible customer service! A man showed up to my apartment, not sure what his name was as he did not introduce himself. He didn't so much as say "Hi," before being asked to look at my toilet. After looking at my toilet he said, "Oh great! I need to get parts," then abruptly left my apartment and came back maybe 20min later. Then he was cussing to himself and grunting the entire time he completed the work which took maybe 15min. Then he said, "It's fixed," and walked out. So I called the company and asked them how they would like me to pay and the lady on the phone said, "You didn't pay him?" I said, "Ummm no, he didn't ask for payment, he just left." She said they would invoice me. So the bill comes and it was $200.00!!!!! They originally quoted me $99/hr and the invoice said he was there for 1 1/2 hours!!! Outrageously false. So I call and ask to speak to the manager, she was out, was going to call me on Tuesday. Well Thursday rolls around and I get a call from a lady who states that their "GPS" said he was there for that amount of time and "unless he was sitting in the driveway doing paperwork," she doesn't know what to tell me. Then I tell her about the poor customer service in person and she says, "Oh I am sorry, I will tell my manager." I thought you were the manager?! She said well, "I'm the office manager, I will tell the owner's." Wow. Oh and to top it off they charge 7% for "getting parts fee," and then ripped me off for parts. Keith came to assist in clearing our sewer drain issue. He was understanding of the problem and asked for the location of the clean-out. He also wanted to know where the back-flow valve was located so it would not be damaged during the process.Much like Kristine F's experience, the female answering the phone seemed not to care about the caller. I had to call back and ask if the plumber was coming as the 2 hour window went by and I waited 40 minutes before calling. I was told the plumber was delayed on another job. When you make an appointment it goes without saying you expect for it to be valid. If there is a problem or something delays the appointment, notice of the delay is professional. I expect a little more from the person answering the phone and making appointments. As for Keith, he did a great job. My wife noticed the drain in the master-bath was slow. She initially asked him to work on that as well. I was able to quickly clear the blockage the old fashioned way. I advised Keith and he gladly put away his tools. Keith get 5 stars. read more
