Our server was fantastic and attentive - and our large party loved him. Food and drink came out quick. Our favorites were the Mentaiko Spaghetti, Chong Qing Chicken Wings, and the Green Curry Crispy Rice. Honestly I would come back just for the Mentaiko Spaghetti! It tasted like the ocean and the noodles were perfectly al dente. We Ubered since we were drinking and celebrating. I do recommend Uber since there's mostly just street parking available. We came on a weeknight, so I can imagine it gets pretty busy on the weekends.

Everyone I take to this place says the same things "Hey I know this place, it used to be a punk bar." "Wow, they really fixed this place up." "These drinks are pretty fucking good." "Damn, this food is legit." You get the picture.

Airliner was a vibe! Went to get dinner and a drink, good chicken wings! Hamachi crudo was really good too. Service was super easy - brought menus and ordered, wait staff was very nice!

Food is decent it's a well executed although not the best. Good enough to recommend trying because there is a lot of Asian fusion which is mediocre and this is a step above that but I would repeat for how nice it is and the value as well as the location. Server was super nice attentive and friendly. Music can be above average loudness but was not a problem to have a conversation. Nope they're hours I believe Sunday is the only time that they are open for a brunch or lunch

We were recommended by a friend to try the food so we ordered a light dinner before partaking in the festivities for NYE since Soulsource held their party upstairs. What can I tell ya... It's pricey, let's get that out of the way. As far as the food goes, it was a nice nod to Asian fusion. I did enjoy the salmon tataki on crispy rice and the mentaiko spaghetti. I barely tasted the hojicha in the tres leche dessert. The vibe is nice and cozy. Service was friendly and prompt.

What an amazing neighborhood bar! Came here after visiting Zizou (which was way too loud for me lol) and sat at the bar. Ended up staying for a few hours chatting with the Harrison & Jo who are the best!! They were so friendly, and it felt like I've been coming to this bar for years. I came late at night but I took a look at the food menu which all looked so good, I can't wait to be back to try

Great vibe at The Airliner. The bartenders are dope and really know their drinks--my Old Fashioned was perfect. The wings and fries were crispy and delicious. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

Shout out to fellow yelpers for pointing us this way. Wanted to do Happy Hour and this place had good reviews. They don't have much social media presence, so I wasn't sure what type of vibe this place would be but we gave it a shot. Place is cozy inside, with booth and bar sitting. You wouldn't even realize the spacious outdoor patio that exists towards the back. The emerald and gold look of the place played well with the vinyl dj set up they had. Bartender David was incredible. He definately sold the place to us as he shared some of the events they host in the patio, as well as advising they play music. We came at a perfect time as we got to hear some sounds from Alisha (hope I didn't butcher the spelling too bad) who happens to also be a bartender. Talk about talent. The other bartender, Topada, was great too. They were all attentive to the people at the bar and making convo which def gives it a community feel. Food: Send noods - delicious, flavorful, creamy, def recommend. Wings - the best wings I have had. Prefect crisp exterior with a tender juicy inside. The sauce of it was just incredible, a perfect blend of savory sweet and tangy with a very slight kick of spice. Fries - seemed basic in comparison to the other dishes we had. Felt like it needed something more than just the kosho aioli that it is served with. The chef really killed it on the flavor. For happy hour, it was a perfect fix to show the quality of the dishes and we would def go back to try additional items off their menu. If their HH menu was that good, then I anticipate the rest will be great as well. Old Fashioned - served great, large cube, orange garnish Bubbles - Topada, like a less bubbly prosecco but delicious in its own lane Nigroni - recommend Direct Flight - well shot and beer Missed Connections - signature cocktail with Roku gin Overall, would recommend this place and make a visit again next time i'm in the area. Perfect for after work drinks, date night, or chill night out with friends.

This jewel of a restaurant/bar/nightclub is absolutely underappreciated by LA clubgoers, which is difficult to understand. They have great food, creative cocktails and a sweet spot to enjoy live music. It's right off the 5 freeway in Lincoln Heights and parking is easy to find. The patio stage is airy and one of a kind, plus every time I've been here the customers are friendly and chill. They used to have a lunch hour that had AMAZING food at a bargain price - I wish they'd bring it back! Back when I lived around the corner from the Airliner, Prince made a surprise late night visit to perform and I missed out! Absolutely love this classic LA hangout!

This is a destination restaurant--if you're in LA and you like Asian flavors, you should be driving here to enjoy incredible food, great drinks, and friendly service. The food was truly delicious; the wings and fries were great, the cucumbers and chop salad were awesome and fresh; and the ribs and onion noodles were extremely flavorful. And this isn't just bar food. This is elevated, high-level food that would compare to any excellent restaurant. The space is great too -- the interior bar has a great vibe and great tunes, and the outdoor patio out back is amazing too. It's a fabulous spot; 10/10 would recommend.

Food, wine, service and vibes were exceptional! We made resys for a wine night and the outdoor seating was cozy, with a heated lamp keeping us warm. Our server was sweet and helped us sample some wines - we chose an orange wine and sparkling wine which both paired perfectly with the food. For food, highly rec the mentaiko spaghetti, fries with yuzu aoili, chicken wings, and citrus salad! Dessert is a must - loveee the hojicha tres leches and black sesame rice krispy. Portions are small, but perf for sharing with friends and wine selection is lovely.

Airliner more like jet setter cuz this bar is going places. From the witty bartenders, to the spacious outdoor patio, and live should vinyl set, this place is a vibe. The wings were soooooo good. They made me question all my life choices up to that moment, like why did I wait so long to experience these wings of pure joy. If you take anything from this review, it's this...get the wings.

The Airliner has just the kind of bar atmosphere I enjoy- classic bar feel but with an eclectic twist. The cocktails are innovative with classic options as well, and the food is excellent and unexpected. I have come several times for drinks, but could not have been happier with my experience putting on a semi-private event on the patio. Vinh helped me plan the perfect party, accommodating all of my (changing) needs, and Joh and the rest of the staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I am just delighted that we ended up there and will come back again and again.

Indoor and outdoor seating available, Bar Henry is a cool little for in Echo Park serving up tasty cocktails in a friendly, local feeling environment. We tried a few cocktails when we visited. The Butthole Surfer is their version of a pina colada which, while decent, could have been a little more flavor forward. Feel it is premade in batches as I didn't see it made fresh but was brought getting the back, but still decent. The Lucid Dream had the smokiness from the mezcal posted with the mandarin, but then the rosemary comes in and helps add a little balance to the drink. The Swimsuit Edition was more flavor forward, but the passion fruit didn't necessarily pop in the drink for us. And finally was the Snitches Get Stitches, another mezcal drink with mango and horchats. Interesting was my first thought, then you start getting the nuances of the different interested and it's a respectable cocktail. Overall, good drinks, friendly people, chill atmosphere, and a nice addition to the bar scene in Echo Park

We decided to get a drink to celebrate Father's Day, only to strike out at the first two bars we tried--I guess a lot of places are closed at 9:30 on a Sunday. This is how we ended up at Thunderbolt, a buzzy bar in Echo Park, just far enough away that we'd never made our way over. I loved it immediately. Thunderbolt has the friendly, comfortable atmosphere of a neighborhood bar and the hip aesthetic and high-level cocktails of a millennial boozer destination. (Not that young people can't or shouldn't hang out here, but it seems especially geared toward people like us, who drank at Walker Inn a decade ago.) We ended up sitting next to a guy who regularly drives up from Palos Verdes. I guess the place gets pretty busy, but it was ideal on a Sunday night. Happening but not crowded, with just enough space at the bar for us to grab two seats together. The bartender was great, super helpful and welcoming. He also made excellent drinks. Thunderbolt is one of those bars with an encyclopedic illustrated book for a menu. Not a long menu, just a detailed one, with a lot of information available about each drink. We got a Liquid Picnic and a Barcelonnette--just one round to close out the weekend. Both were delicious. The Liquid Picnic was a smooth, savory gin martini made with London dry gin, tomato, citron, vermouth, rosemary, and black pepper. I learned from the book that it used clarified tomato water. (There was also further reading about the clarification process.) The Barcelonnette was a mezcal sour with Suze, passionfruit, and lime, the foam made without egg white through some geeky mixologist process. Thunderbolt is not our neighborhood bar, but we plan to go back when we can to check out the rest of the menu. It's a wonderful place, well worth a jaunt on the freeway.

To end the night before we headed off to dinner, we stopped by The Semi- Tropic bar for drinks. The parking situation was difficult to say the least-- there is no street parking or parking lot. And the neighborhood behind the bar is filled with park cars. We were lucky and parked at a parking lot that was for the surrounding business (so sorry to the pizza/ weed shop!). We arrived at around 6:30 PM so it wasn't too busy. We were greeted by one of the servers and she gave us options to either sit at a lounge table area or hightop tables. We opted for the hightop tables because we knew we weren't staying there for long. The server was friendly and patient as we looked over the menu for drinks. I've been sober for about a year so I only had water, my boyfriend ordered a Naoshima Dream, his cousin ordered a Mango Cart, and his cousin's girlfriend ordered a Lemon Drop Martini. The bar was super cute and hipster! I honestly would have loved going to this bar back when I used to drink. It's dimly lit, had a vintage 20's speakeasy feel to it and the music was a vibe. I'd recommend coming here for a little date with your partner or even coming with a group of friends. My boyfriend had been here once before and he said the food was really good and affordable. He had a panini and said for bar food it was a 10/10. We waited maybe like 10 minutes for our drinks to come, we were having such a fun time chatting and enjoying the environment that it didn't feel long at all. My boyfriend, his cousin, and his cousin's girlfriend really enjoyed their drinks. They said the drinks tasted "light" insinuating that there was barely any alcohol in it. Don't let the taste fool you, after finishing half of their drink there were full of smiles, giggles, and had a great buzz going. The prices here were all pretty fair for the cost and quality of the drinks. Would defintely recommend coming here for drinks and dinner for a date night or a night out with friends!
