Well, I'm in the middle of nowhere (Sachse, Texas) so I search for vegetarian food, and up pops Sticky Rice. Well, I decide to give it a try, and boy, it did not disappoint. Let me say that while it is not primarily a vegetarian restaurant, most of their entrees can be made vegan or vegetarian. I picked the Vegetarian Pad Thai, and it was wonderful. Lots and lots of fresh veggies, with really zesty sauce and tofu cooked just right. The wait staff was great, really attentive at just the right times. We're lucky to have Sticky Rice as a restaurant in Murphy. We're not very adventurous as we always seem to order the delicious Pad Woon Sen and Pad See Ew probably as they have been consistently good. The portions are generous enough to share an entree between 2 people and the prices are good. We order the mild as my husband does not like any heat and then ask for chili oil on the side so that I can spice my half up to my liking. We have always taken meals to go. read more

The salmon was completely overcooked and even though I asked for Thai spicy or 5, the heat was non-existent. The curry itself was very watered down leading to a lack of spices. This place is so good! I got the basil Thai fried rice with pork and beef.. yum ! It's super close to my house so anytime I want Thai this will be the place. sticky rice is my favorite thai food in the plano/murphy area. as someone who is gluten sensitive it's sometimes hard to find asian restaurants that use gluten free soy sauce etc. but sticky rice has always been very adaptive & their food has never gotten me sick. my personal favorite dish is the pad see ew & my family has loved every other item that they've ordered. i'm always craving more & looking forward to ordering again! read more

Yummy food. I grew up eating lao style papaya salad and this place makes it just right! Now their spicy level is a bit more than I expected so be careful when you choose your level. I know this differs from restaurant to restaurant. But then again what is the point of eating papaya salad if it isn't "clear out your sinuses" spicy?:) I got the Tofu pad woo sen, delicious! The man who came to speak with us, I believe was the owner. Maybe not. But he was sweet and friendly. My friend and I tried to coax him into opening one closer to Carrollton. The waitstaff here are amazingly attentive. We stumbled into this place after the kids had swimming lessons next door. We were hungry and the kids were wired up. This casual eatery had a great menu which we sampled. You must try their ginger tea. So heavenly! And their fried rice??? Sooo yummy! My favorite so far is the crab. It is my first time here and it was busy! The waiter told us to pick a seat that we wanted and so we did! I got the pad see ew, which comes with your choice of meat such as chicken, beef, etc. But the pad see ew is with flat noodle, egg, broccoli, and garlic! I also got the spicy number 3 and it went well together! The only thing I wish was different is that it had more eggs in it. I also got the lunch portion and it was pretty big for a lunch meal! I had to take some home! My friend got a Massamum Curry which comes with a side jasmine rice and peanuts, ginger, potatoes, carrots, white onions, bell peppers and garlic in it! They serve hot tea, big plus. The wings are delicious. The spicy sauce they come with is tasty and goes well with everything. The Laos sausage is an acquired taste. Because we had two appetizers, we ordered one entree, the herb chicken fried rice, level 2 spicy. That was spicy enough for us, given we do not eat spicy at all. The spice was noticeable and went well with the dish. The Jasmine rice is somewhat sticky. Our experience was great. Will definitely come back and get the curry dishes. read more
