The first sushi restaurant we tried for night one of our trip is also the same place we chose for our fourth and final night of our trip...only because they were closed nights two and three! Great sushi, rolls, miso soup, delicious fish and ingredients! Friendly, kind, caring servers and amazingly humble and friendly chefs behind the sushi bar. This is an update from my visit 4 months ago. My friends invited us to come with them again. I didn't want to because of the horrible service we had last time but they said if we get there earlier it will be a lot better. So we went. We sat at the table near the cash register. After we ate the owner was at the cash register getting our bill ready and said " who is Sarah B." They all pointed to me with confused looks on there faces because we had no idea how she new my name. She then came to our table and started harassing me about my review 4 months ago. Then started telling me about her personal life from 3 years back. It was the strangest experience I have ever had and I have no idea how she knew who I was or what her life from 3 years back has to do with the service. She was super angry and rude. read more

Where do I start? My favorite sushi place, after we had given up on sushi, and after searching for a perfect sushi place for so long I can finally say we have found it here. Sticky Rice is my super favorite, their fish feels soooo fresh and never tastes "fishy". They are also very generous with the fish portions in their sushi which is why we love it so much. Everything from the rice to the fish and seasoning and sauces...it's perfect! We had been ordering pick up due to the pandemic and then we finally got to eat inside, everyone is super friendly and we felt very welcomed. It's not your high end "fancy date night" type of place but with sushi and staff like that, this is easily my favorite date night spot. I highly recommend their Alaskan, Crazy Monkey, Buccaneer , X-mas and dream roll since these are the ones I keep reordering lol! We recently moved to the Apollo Beach area and were desperate to find a new go to spot. After trying a few in the area we felt like our only choice was to drive to St. Pete and hit up our favorite, Pete's. But out of the nowhere we heard about Sticky Rice and let me tell you...knocked it out of park!! At the same time saving me a 50min drive! We love Sticky Rice! Small and almost always busy. Expect a wait on the weekends but the staff is nothing short of fantastic and attentive. We've eaten here twice and loved it. The sushi is fantastic, the sauces!! Like a cherry on top of a sundae, just divine! The restaurant is on the smaller side so finding a table may be hard but when you've gone to NYC, small setups are the norm. Especially if the food is good. So again, expect a wait. Or do like we did our second time, order ahead and take it home! Stopped here for some quick takeout the other day. Ordered the volcano roll and it was pretty awesome. It has crab, cucumber, avocado, eel and spicy Mayo sauce. I usually order a side of the spicy Mayo at other sushi restaurants, but wasn't necessary after I opened my container and saw all of that yummy goodness swirled around the bottom of my container. It was delicious. Just a friendly tip. They have pretty strict COVID guidelines even if you're wearing a mask. I can sadly no longer eat rice due to digestion issues and I love this place because they will do any of their rolls wrapped in seaweed or cucumber! My partner and I have had sticky rice before but it was all to-go orders because of COVID. This was our first time dining there and they were amazing! We came in Saturday night around 8:40 PM and they happily seated us (sorry for coming close to closing). Our favorite things to order here are the sesame chicken, ahi tuna wonton chips/nachos, and yellow fin sashimi. We look forward to trying their blue fin sashimi because we heard it was really good! I hesitate to write a review of Sticky Rice Sushi because it's so small inside and so busy that I am not sure I want the word to get out; but they deserve a 5 star review and so here it is. This is by far the best sushi restaurant in the Tampa Bay area because of their dedication to quality ingredients and attention to detail. As far as I know, this is the only sushi restaurant that regularly brings in Otoro, King Salmon, Uni, and other fine selections. They also have real wasabi available!!! I think every sushi restaurant should have real wasabi, but sadly the US sushi consumer seems mostly content with green dyed horseradish. Well, they have that too, but if you ask they will give you the real thing for just a few dollars. Exceptional sushi rolls and sashimi! My only nit with Sticky Rice is that it seems like a daycare inside more often than not. There seem to be children everywhere. But, I can let that slide for the exceptional sushi options that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else in the area. read more

By 12:40pm this place was packed. After my visit I can understand why. Service: was awesome and friendly. Food: I ordered the Samurai 1 and the TNT rolls, bangers all day. Soooo fresh, and the taste was phenomenal. My wife ordered the lunch combo: she got spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, and those two were money as well. Sooooo good. We got crab Rangoon as an appetizer, do yourself a favor and order some as well. You won't be disappointed. Price: it was little pricey, but absolutely worth it. You get what you pay for, don't let that turn you away. Overall, I can't wait to go back, it looks like the area is starting to be more up and coming with some shopping around the area.
