We have always loved Sticky Rice and frequently went for years. And then we moved. Tonight was the first time in over a year that we've been and they did not disappoint. We shared four rolls: Yellow Lamborghini, Black Widow, Death Star and Hot Mess. I cannot begin to describe how perfect everything was. So fresh, so tasty! A hidden gem! While craving a poke bowl our Yelp search led us to this terrific spot. Their Pokie bowl was not only delicious it was a generous portion. The worst experience I've ever had with a restaurant! I order the Asian Cajun persuasion and I took a couple bites and my stomach wasn't liking it. I told the waiter I didn't like it and that it wasn't my preference, at this point I wasn't sure why my stomach wasn't agreeing with it. I soon realized it was because the sushi roll was with undercooked shrimp. I asked for something else . Once I got the check the persuasion order was still on my tab even tho the waiter had taken the whole plate of uneaten sushi away. I asked if It could be taken off since I didn't eat the food and expressing I didn't like it. The waiter then told me no because I hadn't told him initially why I didn't like the food- being that it was undercooked. The waiter then told me who could visually look at the food and tell that it was fine...? I then spoke with the manager ( Asian male ) and he began to tell me he wouldn't take the order off of the check because he had cooked the food himself and he also said" He's noticing a trend with my time of people" ...? The manager was being blatantly RACIST , and disrespectful Even tho this was my first time entering this establishment EVER. The manager then told me he's a veteran and a family owned business and told me to never come back to the restaurant and then proceeded to walk away from me as I was speaking. Later the manager threatened to call the police on me.. So I told him CALL EM & Proceeded to wait patiently. I couldn't wait for them to arrive so I could explain to them this shit show. Eventually the waiter came back with a reduce bill and calmly said the owner decided to take off the charge. We shouldn't let people like this the false perception that they have power over us because they don't small men use large devices to exercise power over people but at the end of the day when they put down their devices they're still small The small man tried to belittle me in public because he figured my fear was bigger than my faith. Th mindset that you can deliver trash food because people are starving and hungry must stop. These people in this community deserve better ( AS someone who has lived in Asian for two years *recently) This food here is trash - There is better. This place is so good, wow. I was picking up pizza and decided to look at their website while waiting. Well one of the rolls looked good- but didn't have a name. I had to go up to see what it was. I didn't see the sign to wait outside, so I walked in like a doofus, but they were nice after asking me to wait outside. Everyone had masks and it looked like they were really being careful which I appreciate. I completely forgot the name of the roll but it's the one with the quail egg on top and it's *to die for* (I'll put their site pic up). Dietary restrictions (not allergy) prevent me from eating rice and this place has a few no-rice options. This roll either didn't have rice or they made it without for me (I get chatty when I'm nervous and I have social anxiety so my short term memory short-circuits)- the waiter was super nice and so was the waitress who came out to check on me when it looked like they were a bit busy and I had been waiting some. This spot is a 20-ish minute drive from us but worth it. I definitely plan to go again. read more

Okay, so first of all, everything was terrific but what immediately impressed me upon opening my bag of goodies at home was that the hot food, had holes in the container so your food didn't go soft from the steam. I freaking love that! I've only ever been one other place that did that, a little seafood depot in Cary, NC. Ten stars just for that alone. I got a Buccaneer and my mouth is still zinging. Another ten stars! I also got a KFC role - very good, not Buccaneer good, but hey, good in it's own lovable (not your mama's KFC) way. And an order of gyoza, delicious!!! But the Buccaneer was the star with its own running back, quarterback, (no Nickelback though). It was on point, top of its game, pretty sure it graduated with honors in something really important. I sopped up the juice in the bottom with the last KFC still standing. No, really. I didn't even use utensils - ate with my hands like an animal, well, if animals had hands. But I digress. Damn, I had heard such great things about this place and maybe my expectations were set to high. In all fairness our visit was a 3.5 star but yelp does not recognize a half star. On entry the restraunt was incredibly hot and we were left to wonder if the AC was broken but not once was this mentioned to us so we can only guess this was the reason for the heat. The location is small but due to the heat it felt very stuffy instead of quaint like some reviews had mentioned. We were seated immediately which was good because this place looks like it can get quite busy very quickly. The server was incredibly nice and enthusiastic and tried to help guide us through the large menu with a variety of differant cuisines from Thai to Japanese. We took a few moments to look over the menu and then we were meet by another equally nice server to take our order. We decided to try the spicy Salmon and Tuna, Philly, Dream, Playboy and the crazy monkey as we had both brought an appetite. When the food arrived you could see the rice had been overcooked and the texture was all wrong. The fish was fresh and tasted amazing and the rolls had some real creative elements about them but the rice was soft and mushy and threw the whole experience off. The place seemed to be family ran and everbody we talked to seemed very pleasant which is one of the reasons I would be tempted to give this place another try in the future. If I go back I would probably try the Sashimi with real wasabi as the fish here was bursting with flavor. I will update my review on here if we do get a chance to go back and I hope we will get the same positive experience other people have had here. read more

My family and I have almost become regulars here. First, the sushi is fantastic. There is a great variety of fish, a fantastics selection of rolls, and the salad options are great. Secondly, the staff is amazing. Everyone is extremely nice and they are very fast for how much they do. They seem to do great in deliveries/takeaway with how many boxes I have seen being prepped and how many people I have seen pick-up food. Everyone is wearing masks and they do not have people wait inside for a table. They do have some seating outside for people that are waiting for their togo orders or for a table. After all the rave reviews, I had high expectations for Sticky Sushi. I was sadly disappointed. I ordered shrimp and vegetable tempura, which was delicious! My approval of this simply dish heightened my anticipation for my urban heat sushi roll. Where was the heat?? There were no fireworks going off in my. This roll does not live up to its name. For my main course, I ordered chicken pad Thai, medium heat. This is where it gets hazy. The presentation was great, the food not so much. It was covered in a sweet, glaze and the chicken tasted like it was cooked in old grease. I gave 2 stars based on the friendliness of the staff. read more

I used to come here all of the time with the previous owner. But I'm happy I decided to try the menu from the new owner. The fish is super fresh. The sushi rolls are creative and yummy. They kept a few of the rolls from the previous owner which was perfect. I'm not a fan of the pad Thai but that menu seems to be a work in progress so I'll try it again later on. In the nearly 2 years I've lived in the area I've not tried Sticky Rice Sushi but have heard from many that it was incredible. Well, after my first experience I can tell you if won't be our last. We took 'Take Out', so I'm going to concentrate exclusively on the food. We ordered a number of items starting with the Gyoza which are full plump dumplings that are crispy fried which were very good, the egg rolls were light and prepared perfect and the Thai Chicken Fried Rice was both flavorful and loaded with chicken and veggies. We also ordered the Sweet Chili Chicken which were pieces of deep fried chicken served with a sweet chili sauce and served with white sticky rice. The chicken was incredible as was the sweet chili sauce and the rice had a great texture. The service was excellent, the girl on the phone was knowledgeable and was very helpful. When I arrived, someone came to the car and asked my name and I gave her my CC. She brought food out about 7 mins early than quoted. If I had a bad thing to say, it would've been "why did I wait so long to try them"! read more
