I ask about Happy Hour, which is, according to their menu and everywhere they promote themselves DAILY from 4-10pm with different drink specials every day. When I asked about tonight's Happy Hour (FRIDAY!) our waitress says 'Um, yeah we're just like not doing that any more or tonight.' OKAY! I order a Manhattan and she gives it to me up and I have to ask for ice. My husbands pork chop was fine. I had a pulled pork sandwich that was cold and came with fries covered in black pepper (wtf?). Six dollar for a bowl of dishwater soup... No thank you! It is difficult to express how bad our experience at this restaurant was. First, when you enter this place it is confusing because it is not one restaurant, but a bar restaurant, a walk up restaurant, and bakery all jumbled together. Trouble is if you want something specific, then you not only have to go to a specific place to get it, you also have to be there at the right time. Put another way, because we came at lunch time and were not interested in standing in line to order, then carrying a tray around, we could only order from an extremely limited menu. As fans of Polish cuisine, we went here with high hopes and immediately ordered their "famous" pickle soup. What we got were two bowls of some sort of broth with three or four tiny pieces of vegetable matter floating in it and very little flavor, served without any bread, crackers, or even napkins. Basically, it had the appearance and appeal of two bowls of dishwater. To add insult to injury, we were charged a full $6 for each. The soup may be famous, but it is definitely not for being good. The rest of the food was lackluster at best and grossly overpriced, the waitress forgot to bring us silverware and napkins repeatedly and acted like serving us was beneath her. Moreover, when she inquired how our food was and we told her it wasn't great, she shrugged as if to make clear just how little she cared. When we inquired what she thought of the soup herself, she announced she'd never bothered to try it, leaving us with the impression that she knew better than to eat there. Bad service, abysmal food, could not recommend this to anyone. On a final note, we are clearly not the only ones who were baffled by the positive reviews of this restaurant. When my friend popped into the restroom, she ran into two other ladies who were busy discussing how disappointing their experience was. Chatting back and forth the consensus was no one who had lunch there that day would be coming back. Have been wanting to try Sto Lat for awhile. Finally able to get there yesterday. Greeted by a very personable hostess who offered a couple options for seating. We were there during happy hour so of course we indulged in the deals offered. I had their signature polish mule drink which was very good. Small plates were half price so we sampled several options. Very disappointed at my first trip to the Sto Lat Bar part of this establishment (prior experience was with Simply Pierogi). When we walked in, the bar had maybe 5 tables with people and plenty of open seating. The hostess asked if we had a reservation. I advised we did not and asked if we needed one. She said "You really should have one. I can seat you. But next time make sure you have one." After about 10 minutes, a waitress finally came to pour us some water and take our order. I ordered the Tour of Poland (basically a sampling of their staple dishes) and my husband ordered the steak and potatoes meal. About an hour later we received our meals. Both were absolutely delicious. So this review is a mixed bag...food is amazing, but some issues in terms of customer service. read more

First, Sto Lat was a beautiful and comfortable restaurant, but unfortunately we didn't know there was music during dinnertime. The performer was fine, but the music was quite loud so it wasn't so easy to converse with our dinner partners. We asked for the volume to be lowered (we were not the only ones) but no action was taken. Service was very slow but that was not really an issue as much as the food was. Four of us ordered the Taste of Poland and the plate was truly a disappointment. The pierogies were just ok but you could not taste the bacon or onion in them. The polish sausage link was skinny and dry, not anything like the wonderful sausages sold in the Buffalo area and the stuffed cabbage roll was tasteless. The menu said garlic mashed potatoes, but they could not be seen or tasted for that matter because they were smothered by the bigos, a mushy sausage stew drowning in tomato sauce with a strong rosemary taste. So, skip the Polish platter and order something else. read more

I've been to this place several times. It's usually spot on with a fantastic, upscale, ambiance and even better bartenders. Tonight (12/23/2021 9pm) however, was a disappointment. We had a bartender who practically ignored our end of the bar. The woman next to me waited 5 minutes to order her wine and then 10 minutes to get it (at a no longer busy bar). My group was able to order one drink and then we were completely ignored and unable to order another one. This was with 50 minutes left before closing. It left me wondering if our bartender was new or just bad at her job. All of the other bartenders previously were great. This one though, she is terrible. The receipt says her name is Terri B. Hopefully when you come here, she won't be here. Better yet, maybe call in advance to see if she is here.... and then don't come if she is. She is absolutely costing this business money since everyone in our area of the bar would have ordered at least one more drink given the chance. So I'm a little confused because the bakery is part of the restaurant is part of the bar (each has their own FB page), but regardless, I had TWO amazing experiences here! In case you don't make it through the whole read, just know that having dinner here and ordering from the bakery are a MUST! My boyfriend and I originally came in to have dinner, and we were lucky to have Cassie as our server. Cassie had great recommendations, was super friendly, and the service couldn't have been better! The drink menu here is awesome; we each ordered 2 different drinks and all 4 tasted delicious. We split an app (classic zapiekanka) and an entree (taste of poland), and let me tell you, WE HAD PLENTY LEFTOVERS!! Everything tasted amazing. We had so much food though that when Cassie asked about dessert, we just couldn't, but we vowed to come back. Fast forward two weeks, and we came in today! We came in to get a dessert enough for 8 people, but while we were trying to figure that out, I spotted the gelatos!! I ALWAYS have to try anything that has the words "espresso" or "coffee" and they happen to have a coffee chip, AND IT WAS FRICKIN' DELICIOUS! It's typically hard to find one I like, so seriously, TRY IT!! We ended up ordering two desserts (yet to try), but going back to why we now love this place, the SERVICE was AMAZING! Just go; food is excellent, drinks are perfect, staff is very welcoming! We ordered the charcuterie board for the table, the pickled veges were perfect and cheeses were great. Then had the pickle soup after the rainy day, the potatoes and veges were melt in your mouth perfect and the broth was very tasty. We ended up getting the traditional pierogi platter and also some fried pierogi dippers, both were amazing. The bar has a great drink menu and the mixed drinks are very good. We had a 615 reservation on a busy Friday evening. Sat promptly at 615. Service was excellent, we were unfamiliar with the menu and the server was patient and knowledgeable. We had the taste of Poland and the Chicken Schnitzel, and fried picked to start. The pickles were delicious, but the breading didn't hold which was a disappointment. The chicken was good, buttered potatoes were great, but the real star was the taste of Poland. Smokey kielbasa, a sample of pierogis, rye bread, stuffed cabbage and cucumber salad were all excellent and reminded me of home cooking. A wonderful experience and we can't wait to return. read more

I have to agree with the other reviews regarding the Mother's Day brunch. It was a disaster. It was basically scrambled eggs and bacon with tiny pieces of French toast and waffles. The sausage was unidentifiable. Ham was the only good thing. Most of the items were lukewarm and waffles were rock hard as others have stated. They were out of desserts and other items when our table was called to go up. The chef came and gave us "the last 2" scones and they were tiny after asking for desserts. We were offered one mimosa not the Bottomless mimosas as stated. The coffee bar was just coffee and cream or tea. Salad bar was honestly a joke. Only had carrots and shredded cheese with dressing. I am shocked at the $60 price tag for what was available to eat. I could have made better at home. Not a good way to treat all the Moms who work so hard all year and expect a nice brunch on a day to be celebrated. Very poor quality overall especially for the $60 price tag. We had a negative experience with old man with white hair that was greeting people. Was super friendly with the older, Boomer age, group directly in front of us, explaining the dining concept at length. Even detailing busier hours so they could avoid those times in the future. Despite missing the first portion of his conversation with those folks, we still stood there a good 4-5 mins waiting for him to finish his conversation. His demeanor totally changed when they walked away and we walked up. My husband said hello and asked if we should stand in line for our food order, he unenthusiastically said "yeah" and then looked to the people behind us. While we were in line we could hear him once again being super nice and friendly with the older adults behind us. It was so off putting that we left without ordering, and went to Bar Bill's (which was DELICIOUS and had GREAT service). If ya want polish or European fair, maybe consider smaller, less corporate restaurants first that are likely more appreciative of potential customers. This place will be just fine without our business, but hate to see pretentious, elitist places knock out family and small businesses. Such a shame. read more

The food is delicious - been there four times and never disappointed. The combination of traditional and new flavor will blow your mind ! And that's not even getting to the dessert part ! I love this new spot! This started out as a small family business in Lancaster, and I was so excited when I heard they were opening a larger space with more food options! Not only did they have their normal bakery items from Chrusciki and pierogi from Simply Pierogi, but they had a full appetizer/meal menu as part of Sto Lat. My friend and I went and sat at the bar, and everyone was spaced out accordingly due to COVID regulations. We definitely felt comfortable being here, especially because it is such a wide open space. All of the employees had masks on, which I know is required, but it added an extra level of comfort as a guest. It was nice to be able to tell they were giving service with a smile, even with masks! I ordered two drinks: the BFLO Refresher and Polish Mule. Both were amazingly refreshing, and perfect for summer! While seated at the bar, I enjoyed truffle fried pickles as an appetizer-the dill aioli was to DIE for. As my entree, I had the spicy schnitzel sandwich. As Sto Lat's version of a fried chicken sandwich, I found it to be amazing. It wasn't too spicy, had the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, and the thick sliced pickles added the perfect crunch and tang that one seeks from a good sandwich. Prior to leaving, I ordered a gigantic birthday cake macaron and an almond raspberry cupcake from the Chrusciki side of the restaurant, and I was able to bring them back to the bar to (thoroughly) enjoy as my dessert. In my opinion, Chrusciki macarons are the best in Buffalo, as they are what dreams are made of! Overall, I think this will be one of the new Transit Rd. hot spots! 10/10 recommend, and I will DEFINITELY be going back! read more

This place was amazing! We are from the Syracuse area and were passing through on our way to Niagara Falls. There are Tesla Superchargers within walking distance of the restaurant which made it really convenient. Everyone in the restaurant was very friendly and the food was fantastic. So my first experience here about a month ago was great. Unfortunately I went again last night 10/17 and the experience was not so good. Our waitress forgot to get our food order for 30 mins but we were ok with it she seemed she was having a bad day. However our food then took forever and the polish platter was freezing cold and the chicken snitchzel was very bland and also cold. We didn't get a chance to complain as the server was too busy . We just returned from a rather expensive evening out at Sto Lat Bar where we had high expectations for a delicious meal. Sadly, we were disappointed on many levels. 3 in the party ordered duck breast, two ordered salmon. The duck was tough, and not overly edible; the salmon tasted fishy and was served on a bizarre plate of lettuce-neither attractive nor tasty. One person in the party ordered a Manhattan but received a cosmopolitan (twice). Either the waitress or the bartender didn't know what they were doing! The food took ages to arrive and no bread or other filler was provided while we waited. Lastly, the live music provided was so loud that in a party of elderly people already troubled with hearing, conversation was impossible. While the company for the evening made the time enjoyable, the food did not. We won't be back. read more

Went to Sto Lat for a late lunch early dinner. What a pleasant atmosphere and so inviting. We arrived just ahead of the dinner hour which starts at 5:00P, but didn't have to wait since they have a unique pierogi bar as well as a salad bar. Clever idea and was fun to have them build our plates for us. The food was very good, the service was excellent the staff was friendly and attentive. In addition to a sit-down dinner service and the pierogi/salad bar there is a bakery and gelato stand that is too tempting to resist! We had to finish off our meal with a visit to the bakery too! We were curious about what Sto Lat Bar was? It was near by so we booked a table and gave it a try. The place is nicely decorated with live music and TVs at the bar. We were seated at a high top near the bar. We ordered drinks which were slow to arrive but were cold and well poured! I had a tenderloin and my wife had a salmon which were both outstanding and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend Sto Lat Bar and will return soon! It's a great addition to the Eastern Hills area. I'll overlook the slow bar service and give it 5 stars. It's that good! read more
