    Crème brûlée
    Susan R.

Great service from Cecily tonight at the Stockyards steakhouse. I'm gonna keep this one short cause I'm tired and I still have a ways to travel tonight. I ordered a filet mignon with the mashed potatoes, side salad, glass of wine and a crème brûlée. Food and service are solid, Cecily was very attentive, and the prices are some of the best for the local steakhouses. I'll be back!

The history is unbelievable and the steaks are excellent. The bartenders were attentive and offered good advice. The history really comes through inside.

Tom, our servicer, was great. Very personable but not pushy. He checked our drinks and water often. The salad wedge was good. The steak soup was full of steak. Yum. The calf fries were kinda bloody inside. We shared an 18 oz Delmonico. It was grizzly but wonderful meat flavor I expected a 2" steak and it was not even 1.5". Delmonico are typically 2". Overall our meal was good. The bar is amazing. Love all the history.

Great food and nice huge bar area with one tv for sports watching. decent service.. Awesome ambiance..nice pictures in the restaurant and nice fancy dining area. Chili was a little spicy for my basic self . The steak was favorable..I feel you could get the same favorable steak at other places for less money. Prices is what gives it only 4 out of 5 stars..just my opinion. definitely try it and see what you think.. kind of forgettable to be honest. Prob recommend this place for large groups..it's quite nice

Overall we had a wonderful time at the Stockyards and enjoyed our meal! We came to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed the lowkey atmosphere for a Sunday evening. The elk that my niece got was honestly the best bite most of us tried but all our steaks were cooked to preferred temp and very flavorful. The drinks were well made and the corn bread was tasty. Soups and salad were also good, but the Caesar salad was truly wonderful! Dessert was good but the main standout was the bread pudding. Omg so tasty and I don't even like bread pudding but this was just amazing!!! Only reason for 4 starts was service was slightly on the slower side and seemed questionable at first but as the evening went on it got better. Definitely plan on coming back with friends!

Absolutely delicious! The filet mignon was cooked perfect and well seasoned. The parmesan potatoes were sliced really thin and so good! Service was excellent & friendly. I would definitely go back.

This place absolutely knocked it out of the park. We don't usually splurge on fine dining, but for my other half's birthday we decided to make an exception, and wow... we are beyond glad we did. From the moment we walked in, everything was phenomenal. The service was stellar, attentive without being overbearing, and made the whole evening feel special. The atmosphere was the perfect balance of upscale and welcoming, with an incredible vibe that still made our kids feel comfortable and included. Now the food... unreal. Every single thing we ordered was perfection. The steak was hands down the best I've ever had in my life, cooked flawlessly and portioned generously enough that we even had leftovers. The elk medallions were absolutely superb, tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. And the sides? Just as impressive. Every bite was beyond amazing and clearly crafted with care. Even my extremely picky 11-year-old, who rarely likes much of anything when we go out, loved his meal, which honestly says a lot all by itself. This dinner was everything we hoped for and more. Incredible food, amazing service, generous portions, and an experience that felt both special and comfortable. We will absolutely be back and will be telling everyone we know how much we loved it. Thank you for making this birthday celebration so perfect!

This is the 14 oz ribeye - house specialty. It is served with a compound butter and a bearnaise sauce with Parmesan potatoes and asparagus.

Beautiful steaks served perfectly cooked. I had the 14 oz local ribeye cooked to a perfect medium-rare with compound butter and bearnaise sauce; Parmesan potatoes and asparagus. It is a 5 star place but steaks are a 60-75$/plate investment.

    Chateaubriand for Two
    Clem M.

Back for Round Two! Two weeks in Phoenix and I couldn't resist returning. This time we got the Chateaubriand for two. The salad was delicious. Ordered the Old Fashioned & Still Superb. The Beef Tenderloin was cooked to medium, but was a little rare in the middle. Still melt in your mouth superb steak. I tried it with each sauce and the creamed horseradish was the best. This didn't need any sauce and was perfect. The Parmesan potatoes were good. The Sautéed Button Mushrooms were perfect. The Brussel sprouts were good. Service was good. Looking for a Steak House and the Stockyards Restaurant sounded perfect. Ordered the Old Fashioned with Stockyards Bourbon by Outlaw Whiskey. Perfect Compliment with the steak. The Cornbread was good and the bread just ok. Went with the Baseball Sirloin with salad & garlic whipped potatoes. The steak was lean and cooked medium perfectly. The whipped potatoes were fluffy and paired perfectly with the sirloin. Lean & tender was excellent. The salad was fresh and delicious. The Crem Brûlée was absolutely phenomenal end to the meal. The service was superb. Loved the old style steak house. Would definitely recommend and return.

    Wedge Salad (split in half)
    Lindsey K.

ABSOLUTELY a yes from me! The service was incredible and the food was AMAZING! For a starter we ordered a wedge salad and split it in half. We did have to ask for a couple of the toppings because it was missing some things when it came out but no prob! We ordered the filet with Parmesan potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and the potatoes might be the best I've ever had! We also ordered the bread pudding for dessert and it was great!

It has been quiet some time since I've been to Stockyards. Glad we decided to go for date night. I love the feel of going to an old time saloon and see all the old menus and pictures of Arizona from years ago. From start to finish we enjoyed everything. The hostesses were friendly and greeted us with a smile, our server was pleasant and checked on us often, and the food was amazing. If you're looking for a date night restaurant you should definitely try Stockyards.

This was an amazing steak house and so much fun to go to with my family. Service was really good and professional as well as informative. The food was delicious and worth the price as everything was seasoned and made fresh. The ambiance is also really good when you have beautiful stain glass windows, great photos around, beautiful designs everything. It can get busy but that's expected when it comes to places like this. For sure go here and order whatever interests you most because it's all worth what you pay for. Try the creme brulee and strawberry shortcake for desert.

I was excited to finally try this place after hearing so much about it. It was my first time in, and I sat at the bar. The bartender started by telling me a bit about the history of the restaurant, which I appreciated and the woodwork around the bar really is beautiful. I was served a bread basket with a variety of breads, but they were barely warm, and some were actually burnt. I ordered a cup of steak soup, which turned out to be the best thing I had all night. For my main, I went with the 14oz prime-grade ribeye, along with creamed spinach and a twice-baked potato. When the steak arrived, the food runner dropped the plate in front of me without a word and walked away. That's a strange touch for an upscale restaurant. I had to ask the bartender what the two sauces on the plate were. He was surprised and a little disappointed that the food runner didn't explain anything, but he quickly fixed it and took care of me. Unfortunately, it was clear the food had been sitting in the window for a while. The steak looked dry and wasn't warm. None of the food was, really. I was hungry and didn't want to hold things up since they were closing in about 30 minutes, so I didn't send it all back--but I did return the creamed spinach. Room-temperature creamed spinach is just unpleasant. The steak was okay at best. For a $75 prime ribeye, I expected better. I took half of it home for breakfast, only to find that a good portion was full of gristle. The bartender was fantastic, and the soup was excellent. But at these prices, I expected a more consistent and elevated experience. Not sure I'll be back.

I checked us in for our reservation and the hostess welcomed us in, then promptly took us to the table that had been beautifully prepared for our dining experience. She asked if the lighting was too dim, but it was perfect. Every staff member was dressed neatly and welcomed us as we walked by. No staff members were running around frantically, and I could tell they are staffed amazingly well. So organized and kind, genuinely smiling at us. I could tell that anyone would be willing to help us, if we needed them! Our waiter, Daniel, came over and again, welcomed us. He let us know the specials of the night and how dinner will be served. Let us know not to touch the 500 degree plates when they arrived. He took out drink orders and answered any question we had. He promptly came back with drinks and fresh, hot rolls!! Daniel took our dinner orders. We all sat and visited while waiting, enjoying our drinks and the hot rolls. Dinner was served on, as promised, hot plates!! Then, they served each of us the crème brûlée corn. All of us that ordered meat, asked for medium rare and we were not disappointed!! Our meats were spot on!!! Perfection!!! The petite filet mignon were very juicy and delicious, as was the New York strip. The Crispy Hasselback Potatoes were so good, especially with the topping. The Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs were so good!!! I feel like our meals were simple yet divine!! After we enjoyed dinner, we were served the Ultimate Warm Vanilla Caramel Cake, on the house!! What a nice touch!! So yummy and it felt guilty eating such a fabulous dessert!! We all shared it! All in all, I wish I could give 10/10 stars!! Such a wonderful dinner experience!! Stopped here for dinner on Labor Day at around 515 so it wasn't too busy but great ambiance. I love the decor it's very inviting! My waiter was so friendly and helpful. I originally came cuz I saw this lobster tagliatelle dish but I actually wasn't too hungry and was going to the Drunk Pirates show after so I didn't want to be weighed down. The catch of the day was a sea bass which sounded great and over a succotash with a pork gastrique with corn nut crunch. And OMG when I say this was prob the best succotash I've ever had. Super crunchy fresh corn, asparagus, snap peas and bell peppers. The sea bass was also cooked great, very crispy skin and glaze. I'm literally thinking about it now. I also ended up getting the Lost in the Woods dessert which was a delicate chocolate mousse on shortbread with like a candied hazelnut and cookie dust. Every bite was heavenly. I wish I could've tried the other desserts too. I would literally come back to Phoenix just to eat here again. I want to try the beef Wellington so I'll need to drag a friend to come with me too since it's a serving whole for 2. Overall cannot recommend enough!

Our server was amazing. I could have sworn her name was Dominique, but she was fantastic and gave us some great recommendations. What stood out even more was how everyone worked together. The young guy delivering our food was so friendly, another server grabbed our plates as she walked by, and every single person we interacted with was welcoming. You could really tell it was a team effort rather than everyone only worrying about their own tables. We tried several of the recommended brunch items and everything was delicious. I also asked for a cocktail similar to a margarita, and our server recommended the Shishito out of luck-loved it! Great food, surprisingly reasonable pricing for such a beautiful spot, fantastic service, and even better vibes. We were visiting Phoenix and would absolutely come back the next time we're in town. From the great wood grain basement dark ambience to to the raw, regular bar, and multiple sit-down options, we have tried it all. The allure of trying to find a place down in a basement where you have to find the right elevator was pretty bad ass. The hosts along with the waitresses and bar tenders are always welcoming and knowledgeable about their food and drink. I also think it is cool that you can get lockers to store your expensive liquor for return trips. We often come here for drinks and oysters, because my wife loves oysters and they have a wide range of options that aren't exactly cheap, but don't break the bank for freshness and taste. I only really mark down the rating because the menu has been stale over the years and they used to offer elk that is no longer available. Now call that pretentions or snooty, but I think they could use some unique options to keep the experience moving each time you come in. Also, I feel a restaurant of this caliber should be evolving to match their cool vibe and unique experience. I usually get the Wren house beer but feel the beer optiosn are limiting I also feel like some of their cocktails are overpriced, but they are unique compared to other places, so maybe I am just cheap. So really this rating should be more a 4.5. What really brings you back is the cool art on the wall with a Theodore Roosevelt slant and cool sitting areas like a sofa setting in what looks like it would be his old school library. Don't get me wrong everything I have eaten here has been good, but nothing hearkens back like that elk. This place makes for an amazing tinder date if you are willing to drop that cash and make that impression, come here then hop on over to Valley bar and she will think you are magician of illusive locations if she hasn't already been there.

The rotating menu changes weekly or so, and everything we had was amazing! The risotto was full of flavor and the kale salad was probably the best salad I've had! The bar is small but a welcoming vibe, and the staff was really friendly and fun to talk with!

What an amazing evening, beautifully curated with so many thoughtful details. Only downside is that…read morefor some reason Apple maps was not accurate to finding the location and parking was a challenge as it is right on Roosevelt Row. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!

The Arrogant Butcher came highly recommended by the concierge at the Sheraton, and what a great…read morerecommendation! We were in town for a huge convention, and the restaurant was packed on a Monday night. Luckily, we found seats at the bar, and that turned out to be a fantastic choice. Our bartender/server, Chia, was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly busy, but somehow made sure everyone at the bar received phenomenal service. Friendly, attentive, and always on top of everything--she really made the experience special. And the food was fantastic! Everything we had was tasty, but I especially loved the grilled Brussels sprouts. And the brownie lava cake with ice cream was absolutely delicious--the perfect way to finish the meal! I also really enjoyed the ambiance. It has that energetic downtown feel and is a great spot for sporting events, drinks, dinner, or just hanging out. There's also outdoor seating with misters, although with temperatures still over 102F at 7 p.m., most people wisely chose to dine inside where it was much cooler. A little history The Arrogant Butcher opened in 2011 at CityScape in downtown Phoenix, becoming one of restaurateur Sam Fox's early downtown Phoenix concepts under Fox Restaurant Concepts. Its location right in the heart of downtown, next to what was then US Airways Center, made it a natural destination for game nights, conventions, and downtown visitors. All in all, great downtown location, excellent service, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere. It's conveniently located not far from the Sheraton, which made it an easy walk/ride for us. Highly recommend The Arrogant Butcher! And a special shoutout to Chia for taking such great care of us. Cheers!
