One of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had

I planned to go to Angelo's but I forgot how early they close so I took the 45 minute drive to stolis and I would absolutely do it again! Idk I might have a new favorite Philly The rib eye is so fresh Cooper Sharp not too overpowering Try it on garlic bread Service 10/10

Stoli's does the cheese steak proud. Choice of seeded, plain or even garlic bread roll all filled with the perfect mixtures of cheese melted within the cracks and crevices of the expertly cooked tender juicy beef. Simple bar seating along the window if you can't wait to get home to enjoy your Philly favorite.

If you haven't been to Stoli's yet, you're either living under a rock, or in South Philly and too lazy to make the drive . Fresh shaved ribeye (and lots of it), cooper sharp, delicious fried onions, on your choice of a seeded or non seeded Carangi roll. $16 which is in line with or cheaper than anywhere else serving a steak of this quality. The staff here were very nice, we (Foodula, Godfather of Meat, and myself) had a good conversation with the cook on duty when we went and I've since spoken with the owner and he was very nice as well. Seating is minimal but it worked for us to get our steak on. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking to try a new spot (if you haven't already). Stoli's for sure - Didn't Suck!

    American & Whiz with.

Stoli's is one of the top cheesesteak contenders in the city, they're certainly number one in the Northeast. They use seeded rolls which are phenomenal, the perfect amount of chew and they do well soaking up any juice or cheese. I typically go Cooper with, but occasionally I'll be craving some Whiz and get their American/Whiz with fried onions. They're always good, the staff is phenomenal and typically pretty quick. If I had one critique, they use slightly more black pepper on their steaks than I care for. It's not extreme by any means but it's there. This is a personal thing of mine, but it does not take away from the quality that they're doing.

Chicken cheesesteak with provolone cheese & fried onions, and mozzarella sticks
    Casey F.

I was looking for a spot to get cheesesteaks and this restaurant came up as a suggestion on my Uber Eats account. I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with provolone and fried onions, mozzarella sticks, and a can of iced tea. The food was delicious! It was nice and warm when I received it. My only minor complaints: The mozzarella sticks only came with 5 sticks. That's a little under $2.00 per stick. I think that's a little expensive for only 5 sticks, but I understand the price is increased on Uber Eats. A small can of iced tea was $3.25. I understand if it was a bottle of iced tea. But a small can????? All in all, I would probably order from here again.

I've dined at a place back home and although it tasted pretty good it fell into the latter of these statements above. Dalessandro's , though, changed my mind. Even the most humblest of a Philly Cheesesteak could be awarded such an award. There is nothing bougie/pretentious/overpriced about this establishment, it's staff and/or it's food. I sat there a couple bites in pondering what else I should try next time on my visit. I had the Philly Cheeseteak with sweet peppers with white American on a seeded roll. I had a philly cheese steak at a separate location prior to here, and although it was great, Dalessandros had the right balance of meat to bread to dollar ratio. I was full but content. I believe we got the Ribeye Cheesesteak with onions and peppers, and it was hands down one of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had. Normally, I'm not a fan of seeded bread and I usually don't like peppers either, but somehow everything worked perfectly together. The creamy cooper American cheese, the soft yet crunchy bread and the thinly sliced ribeye made for such an incredible combination. And much to my surprise the peppers actually added a really nice touch and brought everything together. The portion was absolutely massive, but the flavor was so good that it was hard to stop eating it. Definitely a cheesesteak I'd happily have again!

Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no reservations Return worthiness: yes! Eve awards best cheesesteak of my life--still thinking about it Highlights: - The bread: a soft long roll with sesame seeds was a delight I didn't see coming. - Meat: was lightly seasoned but kept its pure flavor. Most cheesesteaks have such bland meat so this did it right - Cheese: melty coopers cheese was perfectly mixed in. - Onions: just the right soloing if grilled onions mixed in to complement the meat but not overwhelm it. - Size: monstrous! You can easily share (but you may not want to). - Fairly efficient: even with long lines, put your phone number in the kiosk, can pay with credit card, and wait til you are texted to pick it up. - For the whole family: my cranky teen son said it's the best thing he ate on our 23 day summer East Coast trip (including lots of great dining spots around Philly and NYC). Lowlights: - Waits can be long and brutal in heat. We got lucky with a shorter line. - No seating: just an ordering counter inside so many are eating out on the sidewalk.

It took us around 15 minutes to order and another 10 minutes to get through the pickup line, but it was so worth the wait. The instructions weren't super clear since they just tell you what to do when you get there, and it seemed like a lot of people weren't listening. They were pretty efficient at getting everyone through the line, though, and the service was kind. We got the cheesesteak with Cooper Sharp and fried onions, plus long hots on the side. The bread is the star here. It's made with sourdough, so the outside has a nice crunch while the inside stays soft, and the sesame seeds add even more texture and flavor. The cheesesteak itself was pretty standard but done really well. It was super creamy, and I loved that the onions weren't soggy. Honestly, this was the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had. 8.5/10. The important thing though, is that I finally went there today and got a cheesesteak with fried onions. The first thing I did when I got home was weigh it. 2.3 lbs of cheesesteak goodness. Naturally, the enormity of the thing comes at a cost: $19.10 out the door. Being honest, I don't know what started this trend of "more food than you can possibly eat", but it's "a thing" now, so what can you do? Buy it, and share or save half for later. But, back to the steak. I'd say the closest competitor that I'm aware of would be High Steaks in Ambler, but in terms of meat to cheese ratio and flavor, I'm giving Verona the edge. In fact, I'd say it's the best or tied with the best cheesesteak I've ever eaten, and I'm old - so that's saying a lot. So we've got a great a steak that will easily serve two, a friendly staff, and prices within the realm of what you'd expect for August 2026. In addition to those tangible things, I take some joy in seeing that the choke hold once around the wallets of locals by that other place that shares it's name with it's location, has finally been broken. Competition is a great thing, and when you're greeted with a smile and a "thank you" that accompanies your order, that makes a huge difference, and is very refreshing. Overall: Delicious cheesesteak, friendly service, and they seem to appreciate that you're giving them your business. That's an A+ in my book.
