I'm surprised that they don't have more reviews. I walk by almost every day & there are always people here (and cute dogs chillin in the patio area). Also, the cafe-style food is more elevated than you'd expect from the dive-y feel. I'm slowly eating my way through the menu & haven't disliked anything yet. I especially love the breakfast burrito, the pulled pork cheesesteak, the kale quesadilla with fried artichokes!, Rosalini's breakfast sandwich, and any daily special when a waffle is used in place of bread on a breakfast sandwich. I'm tempted to gripe about the congested area where the line & the "order pick up" counter is, but it's also kind of nice to be able to see what everyone else gets even if you feel like you're always in the way of someone when you're waiting to order. The fast-grab and go set up of the counter lulls you in and makes you think your food will be out within minutes, but this isn't usually the case. I always expect to wait a reasonable 10-15 minutes. With that said: 5 stars for friendly staff, prices, portions, and for serving a side salad with most of the sandwiches. Great little (big) cafe! They have delicious food and coffee/drinks. It can get a little pricey but that's Fremont for you. I would recommend the mocha and any type of biscuit sandwich offered. This place is very accommodating if you're a meat lover, vegan, on a fab diet, or whatnot. They also have lots of interesting and health conscientious snacks and pastries for sale. I would say this place is very healthy. Also their pumpkin spice is actual spice! However, our food came cold (we got chicken and waffles and both the waffles and gravy was cold) when it wasn't supposed to be cold. My pulled pork avocado bowl had semi-cold pulled pork and it was not flavorful (healthy doesn't have to mean lack of flavor). My pumpkin spice latte wasn't dissolved enough so you're choking down powder. I wouldn't come here for food unless you're getting a salad or something that's easy to heat up later on, or a latte without any powder ingredients. read more

They place was kind of hopping and I didn't really know how the ordering works so I just tried to blend in the best I could and go with the flow. I'm not really sure how they do it but that little kitchen seems to put out the food like a machine, my order was called very soon. Now this place isn't a white linen tablecloth type of place, you go to the bus station and pick up your utensils, napkins, condiments, etc... you even bus your own tables... and the ordering area can get crowded and you may bump into a person or two while picking up your food...that's ok because you will love the food! I had a Sunday afternoon hankering for chicken and waffles and Stone Way didn't disappoint. I ordered from DoorDash and was pleasantly surprised with the delivery. They give you both syrup and sausage gravy to try and both were good. The chicken was more of a fried patty vs tenders but I actually liked this better because it was just the right amount of breading. Sometimes tenders are over breaded and you just eat fried bits when you want the chicken! Anyway- not the case here. I'm game to order again and check out the rest of the menu. read more

Can we talk about how completely random this place is? And not in the quirky cute way. In the, does-anyone-really-care-about-this-business way. Staff weren't friendly but weren't rude either. Let's start with these breakfast enchiladas people have raved over for years. Big confusion around this. It's basically a plate of sauce. Absolutely no texture. Enchiladas taste like the frozen ones you can buy at safeway and heat up in the microwave. Topped off with what tastes like canned enchilada sauce, canned black beans and maybe you can taste a teaspoon of seasonings, if you try really hard. Eggs were eggs. I don't think there was actually chorizo in mine. It's just a savory enchilada breakfast smoothie on a plate. Runny everything. I am grateful of their use of corn tortillas instead of flour but that is the only highlight of this dish. Can we add something dry to this dish? Anything? Toast, brown rice, something? And the whole canned experience comes in at $10? And I COULD make this at home for $4 but the point is, why would I want to? The line. Should we talk about the line? So for whatever reason, this place is crowded on a Friday and Saturday night. The ordering counter is in the front right corner. Theres about 5ft of space for a real line. You order, receive a number, that looks like you could place on a table and they'll find you to drop off your order? Nope. It's for you to hold. Its for you to hold and remember your number so that when its called, you can approach the counter and grab your order. Which means the small waiting to order space just turned into the small waiting to receive your order space too. And its all by the door where people are coming and going. Not to mention the bar seating they've put there as well. And this, this is the theme of the whole place. Such a great deal! For two people brunch was only $26!!!! My bf had a lemoncocco and I had a latte and still it was under $30! That's unheard of for brunch in Capitol Hill (where we live). As far as the food goes I think it's a great price especially for the portion size. Neither of us finished our breakfasts and ended up taking out for a second serving the next day! I had the biscuits & gravy. At first I was turned off that there was no option for no jalapeños because I'm not a fan of spicy, however, it wasn't spicy at all! The flavor of the gravy & biscuit was really nice, but the fried egg on top was a dud. I wasn't asked how I wanted my egg so I'm not sure if you're able to customize it, but it was over hard, bland and cooled down faster than the rest of the biscuit so it ended up being noticeably colder near the latter half of my meal. Also biscuits & gravy is a pretty heavy dish so I definitely needed something on the side to break up the heavy flavor. Luckily my bf had potatoes with his Benedict so I snagged some of those and it did the trick! While on the subject of the potatoes, I'm not a huge fan of the soft breakfast potatoes so I wouldn't give them 5 stars, but they were seasoned well. My bf had the Cajun Benedict and we both agreed that we wouldn't have called it "Cajun." I guess it was just lacking in a heavier spiced flavor and while still good, didn't exactly hit the Cajun spot for us. The last unfortunate situation is that when the line gets long it has to wrap around the food pick up counter. It's probably impossible to change the layout now, but it gets pretty tight and people are moving in line and other people are trying to get their food, just a little mess.
