This review is not about their food. It's about their Customer Service. They rent a special that if you bought a $50 gift card you got a $15 bonus card, so I bought two $50 gift cards from the form on their website and I received an email that said Confirmation for your purchase it is being sent. It didn't mention the two $15 bonus cards so I tried to reply, but the email had a no reply. So I went on their website and the only way to contact them is through a form to Customer Service. So I filled out the form and asked them what about the $30 in bonus? You leave all your information phone and email but I never got a response. It's now been over 30 days and I never received my e-cards for the hundred dollars or the bonus cards for the $30. So I call the number on the website to find out... I have my confirmation number and the email but the phone tells you leave a message on the website and doesn't let you talk to a human or leave a message. So I went back to the website retold the story entered the information in my confirmation number left my phone and email and I still have not heard anything. They've set it up so you cannot contact anyone or talk to anyone directly. So they get $100 of my money and I get nothing. which is exactly the response that I've got from them nothing! This is terrible customer service and a scam to people in purchasing these cards because you have zero recourse. If someone from Stonefire would like to reach out I am ready and willing to hear. read more

I thought I'd reviewed SFG before, because I'm a frequent customer here. Sometimes things just slip your mind... Let's start with the amazing, friendly customer service which welcomes you whether you eat in or do the very easy to do takeout. If they make even a tiny omission on your order they will make it up to you with a drink or dessert. So nice that they want to make an issue right and give a bit extra. The tri-tip is excellent as are the sides and salads, but my favorite is the grilled chicken breast with lemon garlic butter with massive chunks of fresh garlic...so good. The fresh breadsticks are so addictive...be careful...don't spoil your appetite for the rest! read more

This place has really gone down. Decided to dine in only to find out that the food isn't as good as it had been once upon a time. Breadsticks were super skinny compared to before so they were hard. The salad was dry. Needed more dressing. The paste serving was also very small compared with to previous visits. We waited 30 minutes for one of our meals to come out. It wasn't even anything intricate....it was chicken nuggets for one of the kids. Had to go up to the front TWICE to ask about them. When they finally brought them out it had no side so they needed to go back for it. The guy only said "sorry" and quickly left. It wasn't even busy when we got there place was empty. A lot of the tables were dirty. Had to wipe down ours before sitting down. No one walked around to take any of our plates away or to ask if everything was ok. I came here with a large group of 19. Stonefire grill specializes in BBQ and fresh foods. It's a large restaurant with plenty of seating indoors and some tables outside. They also provide catering services. Ordering is done at the front registers. When the food is ready, it is delivered to your table. There are lunch specials as well. We decided to order the works, some soft drinks, and pasta. The works ($190) consisted of the following items: - 4 whole chickens - 3 whole tri-tip - 2 16" two-topping pizza - 2 large salads (greek and caesar) - 36 freshly baked breadsticks We upgraded one of the pizzas to a roasted veggie pizza for a $1. With tax and tip, I believe the meal came out to be close to $16. It's a little bit more than what I want to spend for lunch but everything tasted really good. Lemon garlic chicken- This tasted good. It was moist and tender and had decent lemon and garlic flavors. This wasn't something exceptional that I would go out of my way to order again. Tri-tip- I was impressed with the taste of the tri-tip. It was grilled to perfection and tasted incredible with the mesquite BBQ flavors. Breadsticks- These were a pleasant surprise. They had a good amount of garlic and butter and were extremely addicting. I ate 3 of these at the lunch. Roasted veggie pizza - The pizza was not the typical veggie pizza. It consisted of eggplant, zucchini, red onion, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, and fresh oregano. I really enjoyed the unique flavor combination here. Caesar salad - The salad tasted like an average caesar salad one would find at any other restaurant. There was nothing special about it. Pesto pasta- Although it wasn't served al-dente, it still tasted pretty good and I enjoyed it. Overall this feast was extremely satisfying and some of the dishes really stood out, like the tri-tip, breadsticks, and roasted veggie pizza. We did have a few leftovers and I was stuffed by the time I finished my food. We probably could have fit in an extra person making the total 20 and bringing the overall cost to about $15 a head. read more

Been back 2 more times since my previous update, and both times the tri tip was perfectly medium rare and the takeout service has also greatly improved. The wait times for both occasions were less than 15 minutes. Thank you, Stonefire Grill, for taking customer feedback and constructive criticism positively and kudos for the great improvements! Don't eat here unless you want salmonella poisoning!!! Ate there last Friday night on 5/5. ordered the garlic lemon salmon & got super sick within just a few hrs. Was sick the remainder of the weekend. Horrible experience, worst pain & sickness ever felt. Reported to the health dept & even called the restaurant. I was given a gift card (like I want to eat there again) which was nice I guess but the mgr came across like "why you telling me, what do you want" I explained I thought the restaurant should know those types of things. Stonefire Grill had their A game on! My tennis league teammates and I had such a good team dinner here last year, we decided to come here again. We went on a Monday night, and it's convivial but not crazy busy. Navigation through the Target parking lot was even easy at 7 PM. The Stonefire Grill employees were cheerful as we entered. "How ya doin?" a couple of them said. There were 10 of us, so the young employees moved a couple of tables together. But what to eat? We were like a tennis match, throwing ideas back and forth across the tables until we decided on family style Tri-tip, Baby back ribs, barbecue chicken, and lemon chicken. We had bread sticks and , and salad with drinks. Actually, there were 6 tennis players, and 4 guests. Two of the guests were young guys - kids of one my teammates that some females found irresistible. They were hyper and interactive, clean cut, had big blue eyes, an endless smile and giggle. They were twins, but though dressed alike, had different tastes. So one wanted Mac and Cheese, and the other Cheese Mini Pizza. Verdict? In 15 minutes, the food came out. One rule in tennis: Be quiet during the match or you'll be thought of as semi-ghetto. One similar rule during team dinners: Be quiet because your teammates will scarf down the food if you're talking. We were hungry and everything was good. BBQ Tri tip was the favorite with the ribs a close second. Both were tender, juicy, and flavorful. The reason they're not five stars is that sometimes, these items are quite as good as they were that night. Taking up the rear was the lemon chicken, noticeably drier than the BBQ chicken which was my favorite. I love the bread sticks, and broke my rule of only two bread sticks, as I had a third, eating like a tennis playing pig. Many bites and a few burps later, we were done. Looking for cheap BBQ to take the whole darn family out to enjoy? This is the place! I almost didn't park and go in when I arrived here. There were swarms of people waiting just inside the door and I figured the wait time was over an hour. But I decided to go find out how long the wait really was and it was only 15 minutes. Most of those people were there for take-out. They do one helluva take-out business here! The 15 minutes turned out to be only 5 and our table was ready. But you don't get seated yet; first you order and pay. Then go get your silverware, napkins, pour your own drinks...and then find your table and sit down. I'm not a big fan of this method although I see how it cuts down the cost to the customer. And that's a big factor here - lots of families (with screaming kids) come here because it's relatively inexpensive but the downside is that it's noisy. But not as bad as Chuck-E-Cheese! I ordered a half rack of babyback ribs with a Greek salad and also a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The ribs were at least $7 cheaper than I'd pay at my favorite rib joints. The service was quick and friendly. Our salads came within a few minutes of sitting down. My Greek salad was superb - the best part of the meal. Tossed really well and full of tomatoes, olives, and feta. Some very delicious garlic bread also was delivered - soft and warm. The babybacks came soon afterward. It was a good sized half rack with lots of meat. I like the sauce they use here. The meat was good but not as tender and flavorful as pricier places. Still, for the price they were very good. The garlic mashed potatoes were excellent. I like that there are crunchy pieces of the potato skin mixed within. A good choice for affordable BBQ. Love this casual place! So the family and I were staying down the road and we were starving!!!! My mom and I came here years ago, totally forgot the meal at the time so it was nice to reunite!!!! Came in around 7ish on a Wednesday. We came in just in time because a HUGE group of crossfitters came through after we placed our order. The service all around was great. Very personable cashier. I don't recall his name but we was extremely nice and had good energy. So the breakdown of what was ordered..... Breadsticks: CRACK! Even though mom and I had pizza we ordered them for baby sister! I tasted one and I was like, yea im going to eat this one whole HAHA. Nice and chewy but still cooked all the way through. Well seasoned with the garlic. Caesar salad: This also had a nice taste of garlic and I don't think I ever had this taste of garlic in my Caesar's before. Nice crunchy fresh lettuce, a good amount of croutons and parma and not tooooo much dressing. Rigatoni with marinara: This was my sisters dish. It was aight. We're sauce and cheese addicts. Still nice taste. I can't wait to try the pesto sauce with this pasta dish. Mesquite bbq pizza: With added Tri-tip. DROOOOOOOOOL! This pizza is topped also with gouda, cilantro,bbq sauce and red onions. Im usually standard when it comes to my pizza toppings. This pizza was so good , from beginning to end! The crust was sooooooo good! It was almost like eating the garlic breadsticks. It wasn't overly sauced by the bbq sauce. The meat was tasty. Only a few bits of dry pieces but overall a very enjoyable topping for a pizza. I don't normally like red onions but it worked! I would totally get this again but I have to lurk more of the menu first :) That concluded our meal. We left so satisfied and happy. We're aching to go back. First time to Stonefire Grill. I heard from coworkers the place was good. Pros: Service was fast. Cons: My 1/2 lb salmon looked like it was cut off a larger slab. Husband's side Caesar salad was super dry. Mac n cheese was dull. Bread sticks were ok, a little dry. Full rack of ribs were dry, portion was large, sauce on ribs was hard as rock. Side garden salad looked like it came from a premise salad kit. For 2 people at approx $50 not a great experience or value. Based on the food being served so quickly after we first sat down, we are presuming the food was already made a while ago. Restaurant's photos online make the food look delicious, but it leads you to expect more. My husband cut his leg on an exposed nail under the cushion of the booth seat as we were leaving. Sausage. Bell Peppers. Mushrooms and Red Onions. It's not thin crust. It's not deep dish or pan. It's somewhere right in the middle. We both enjoyed the pizza as there was a nice balance of sauce and toppings. Crust was done well - just right. Not burnt or doughy. Staff is pretty friendly and pretty efficient. But, my colleague is quitting, and this was his going away party! We ordered: 1. BBQ Chicken (4 stars) - moist with just right amount of BBQ sauce 2. Salmon (3 stars) - it wasn't as good as I expected AND we ordered lemon butter, which they gave us sesame! 3. First Round Tri Tip (3 stars) - both BBQ and pepper corn are good, but the meat was not as tender as I expected to be; after eating the 2nd round of Tri Tip, I was able to tell this was "left over" from lunch. 4. Second Round Tri Tip (4.5 stars) - both BBQ and pepper are MOIST, HOT, TENDER, which is what I expected.... this was the none left over lunch meat 5. Caesar Salad (4 stars) - perfect amount of dressing on top of fresh Romain lettuce; you know how dressing can sometimes be over done 6. Garlic Bread Sticks (5 stars) - this is big for me, I'm not the bread kinda girl cause I hate chewing! & I hate getting FAT! With that said, I had 3 bread sticks!!! It was just perfect amount of garlic salt.... if you ever had Olive Garden (I'm sure you ALL HAVE), it's just too salty 7. STONEFIRE'S FAVORITE ( 12″ $14.59)- Homemade pesto, avocado, red onion, mozzarella, Feta cheese, fresh basil. It gets a little tired to eat after a while but it's a good eat for the first half of the pizza. The pesto (haha we got a lot of pesto) is a good mix with the avocado. And they give a good/reasonable amount of avocado. The cheeses mix in there and the basil tops off the minty taste of the pizza. I suggest you either share half with a friend, unless you love pesto, then by all means, go ahead and eat it all (: Mesquite BBQ Chicken (12" $14.59)- Mesquite BBQ Chicken, Gouda cheese, cilantro, red onion It tastes like BBQ and the sauce is very tangy. I don't understand why it's so difficult to order a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza. I ordered a half pepperoni pizza, and half mesquite bbq pizza. It took transferring me to 3 different people in order to complete the request however, it still wasnt correct at pick up. The half that should had been the mesquite bbq had no cilantro and no gouda cheese. I had ordered a medium pizza and salad when I arrived I was told I was waiting on one more item. An epic fail! We ordered two lunches. We've been to Stonefire a million times, this location, but not in the last 6 months or so. One of us ordered soup and salad, and the other ordered soup and pasta with pesto. The soup (both) came cold, as did the pasta. The salad was soggy. Horrible. We saw our food sitting on the counter for a while before anyone brought it over. The staff was behind the counter, chit- chatting, no one watching. When we asked to see the manager, he miraculously appeared from the back with his assistant. He graciously took care of yhe bill,but you should have seen his face when I showed him the under-cooked, flat (yes, flat) bread sticks(their signature item). This place used to always be full. I'd grown so tired of eating the same old things and at the same old places for many many months now, and just needed something different for a change. I then thought to myself....hmmm, what do I have a hankering for?......BBQ! I Yelp'd and found this place. I don't need to describe the inside as you can see from the pictures posted that it's a pretty big and spacious, very casual family style restaurant. As soon as you walk in you head straight to the order counter/cashier, place your order, they give you a buzzer and number, and you go find yourself a table......cutlery, condiments, drinks, etc. are all self serve at a central station. Now to the food. I had a craving for BBQ chicken so that's what I ordered.....a Half Chicken with a choice of salads or a a small side....I went with the Cartwheel salad....and comes with 2 breadsticks. It didn't take long for the meal to reach my table....first came the salad and breadsticks.....the salad was good and actually had all my favorite salad toppings......mixed in with the lettuce were the small cubes of beets and tomatoes, sliced radish, garbanzo beans, black olives, and pieces of tortilla chips.....in a mild tasting cilantro vinaigrette. It was really fresh, delicious, and refreshing. Next, the breadsticks......yummy! Freshly baked, hot, hot, and fluffy soft......luckily they gave two with my meal as it was hard to stop with just one. Then the chicken came.....good portion....and perfectly BBQ'd. The meat was so tender and was just falling off the bones and was literally melt in your mouth good. There is also a sauce provided at the condiments section which I think is their homemade tomato sauce......it went really well with the chicken. Well, it didn't take too long for me to scoff the whole meal down....and I thoroughly enjoyed it too! Service was friendly and efficient....and the prices very reasonable. So what's not to like about this place? I'll definitely be back. Experienced the worst service and worst food tonight. Had to wait over half an hour after arriving for my takeout order and they were not that busy. Pasta was very cold. It had obviously been sitting for awhile. Breadsticks were over done. We asked for some Marinara sauce to add to order when we arrived. We were told they do not have marinara sauce. I ate at The Stonefire Grill on 3966 Barranca Parkway in Irvine. The place was nice and clean. The cashier was nice and friendly. The nice manager allowed me to take photos. I ordered: The Boneless Chicken Breast & Tri-Tip Meal. included was a Caesar Salad & baked breadsticks. chicken; mesquite BBQ chicken strips, with BBQ sauce. Tri Tip; sliced Tri Tip cooked medium well, pepper garlic, with Gorgonzola butter. It was flavorful. I drank a Diet Pepsi with my meal. Diana ordered; The Asian Chicken Salad; chicken, mixed greens, Mandarin oranges, scallions, cooked red peppers, snow peas, wontons, almonds, sesame seeds, and a peanut dressing. A good combination of flavors. Also a Diet Pepsi with the meal. For dessert: I had the, Heavenly Cheese Cake with blueberries on the side. It was heavenly dilishcious. Always enjoy our meals from Stonefire; so we ordered our usuals and my sis selected Postmates to deliver our food to us. Postmates sent a text indicating that they were on their way with our food and we could expect it in 3 minutes. We waited and waited and waited...no delivery. I then called Stonefire and they were very accommodating (Thanks AJ!!) and they remade our meals and I then picked it up curbside. We tried to search the Postmate website and app and to no ends where there was an easy resolution as to what had happened to our original order and if Postmate have tipped themselves for the non delivery. With this COVID situation we sometimes have to rely on delivery services and I would NOT USE POSTMATES. This is not the only time they've provided poor service. Stonefire I would not have Postmate bring down your repetition. read more

We were stuck for a place to eat since we're unfamiliar with the area having only just moved here. We wanted to shop at Target so wanted to eat nearby. Thought we'd try this place out. The food was uninspiring maybe because I really didn't feel like eating the sort of stuff they were serving. Like the other reviewers said it's mainly salad, soups, BBQ, pizza that sort of thing. But being so tired and really hungry, I opted for a salad. When the food arrived my fiesta salad was this heaping mountain overflowing from a huge tortilla shell. Lil guy's pepperoni pizza was tasty but really greasy and had a crust similar to Pizza Hut's pan pizza. Hubby had the tri tip/chicken combo which came with a side salad (big size) and 2 breadsticks. We also got a small serving of the chicken tortilla soup which was good. At $8.99 my salad was just a bargain to say the least, however, for the 3 of us, the bill came to around $35. It wasn't cheap for no table service and it's not the kind of place I'd get excited about you know. I mean you won't find me sometime in the future saying "hey, let's go to Stonefire Grill since I'm craving their (fill in the blanks)". However, never been one to like tri tip, I must say their's was really tender and flavorful and I've changed my mind about tri tip now. Not in a hurry to return but may come back if in the area and stuck for somewhere to eat -- but then again, maybe not. UPDATED 05-05-07: Lil guy's school often does fund raisers here so we've been back many times after my initial review of the place. To reiterate, the salads are the only thing I like here. We've tried the french dip sandwich which was 'eh' and the pizzas are also just okay. My 3-stars remain because one time we got excellent service so I guess in a way it makes up for it -- and this isn't even a full service restaurant. read more

Although Stonefire Grill is touted as a family-focused restaurant, I actually felt comfortable as a solo eater on a Friday night. You pay at the register and you can sit anywhere you'd like. They give you a tracker, so they know where to place your food. Utensils, napkins, and drinks are all self-serve. And they serve alcohol! I think this is a pretty great way of getting good food in a convenient way. Sometimes I feel awkward sitting by myself at a traditional sit-down restaurant, but I don't necessarily feel like going to a fast-food restaurant or grocery deli either. I ordered their boneless chicken breast and tri-tip combo and it comes with two breadsticks and a salad. Next time, I'd just go for their 1/4 chicken and tri-tip combo because it was a lot of food for just me. I had to take some home because I couldn't finish it all. I think the portion size reflects the price point well. The breadsticks and cartwheel salad are whatever. Nothing special or amazing. The salad isn't soaked in dressing, which is a plus. Boneless Chicken Breast (lemon butter): The chicken comes with skin on and tons of roasted sliced garlic. It's very moist and not bland at all. The lemon is noticeable, but not overpowering. But in combination with the tri-tip, it's very greasy. No joke, my meat came together on a platter that was soaked with a mix of juices and butter. I wish the extra liquid could have been strained out before I got it. Tri-tip (medium rare; pepper garlic): The slices are big and they give you a generous portion. It comes topped with gorgonzola butter. I didn't really taste any pepper and garlic was masked. But I really liked the cheese. It adds a ton of flavor, but avoid if you don't like blue cheese. The meat was tender and actually medium rare. Overall: I didn't have a lot of expectations for fast-casual tri-tip or chicken, but their meat is good for the price point. I ordered $140 worth of food.. primary tri tip ordered medium rare... after waiting outside in the heat for good amount of time and no yellow vest curbside attendant attempting to assist me I went inside to pick up my order... only to be met with disappointment. Both the whole tri tip and tri tip for two... which apparently is two toddlers based on the 6 tiny cuts... cooked well done. If I wanted burnt meat for my family's emergency lunch.... I would have asked my ex to whip something up... Poor customer service and waste of money...thanks for nothing read more

First time here, and it was quite tasty. I love roasted cauliflower, so I was intrigued to see "roasted cauliflower with meat sauce" on the menu as a pasta alternative. It was a little different than I expected (a lot of cheese and barely any meat), but that was ok. The cauliflower was sort of al dente, which is ok; I might have preferred it to be roasted just a little tad longer to be just a little bit softer, but I would still order it again. What a hidden jewel in Irvine! I found them when browsing on Yelp with a hungry stomach that was craving for bbq. I got there around 6-7 with my husband and we got surprised by how they work! It's actually like a Chipotle where you order first, pay, grab a seat and someone will bring your food to your table, basically everything else such as utensils or drink was self-served. The guy who took our order was pretty nice and informative, he even suggested us to do a secret combo option to get free salad and appetizers for less the price shown on the menu. We got 1 pound of tri tip steak, one ceasar salad, one garlic mash potatoes and got some free breadsticks as part of the combo meal. My receipt was around $24 ish and the meal was super plentiful for just the two of us. We got our trip tip medium rare (yes you can choose how your steak cooked). It was very juicy and the outer skin of the steak was glazed with some kind of sweet sauce which when you bite into, slowly seep into your tongue and was so delicious. Mash potatoes were cooked pretty well, still lukewarm when we got it. Breadsticks were crunchy and had a garlic taste, this might be excessive to say but I also love their caesar salad, really fresh and tangy. read more

I've eaten at various Stonefire locations from time to time, and they all have good consistent quality food. They don't have traditional waitress service, so you order from the front and they bring your food direct to your table. This actually works out well as their system of service is quite efficient. They have a wide variety of items to choose from. One item that I especially like is the Lemon and Garlic chicken, which is very tangy and delicious. The one and only drawback of the Stonefire's is that they can get kind of crowded, and when they do they can also be quite noisy. Try to go there at an off hour if you can. read more

Great stuff! I've been to a few Stonefire Grills, but this restaurant is easily the best! I've been to this location a few times and it's consistently good! The tri-tip, BBQ chicken, bread sticks, and garlic mashed potatoes are fantastic. I know it's been compared to Pat and Oscars, and while Pat and Oscars is good and it is a similar type set up, that's where the comparisons should end. Stonefire is like a high end version of Pat and Oscars with a much bigger menu and much better food. Not to sound like a cheesy commercial, but you can "really taste the quality®" This Stonefire in particular really stands out for it's look. It's VERY nice inside and has a much newer look than most Stonefires. And the staff is always friendly and helpful- during my meal, a few staff members and (I think) the manager checked in and made sure everything was alright- which is impressive for a restaurant without servers. Since I found this place, I've been coming a few times a month. With so many great restaurants out there, I know I should add variety, but sometimes you just don't mess with what works. read more

Food here is fabulous i always get the chopped Cobb salad with Ranch and my wife got the Petite bbq chicken salad. The breadsticks are the best anywhere but some day i need to break away from my salad and try the bbq chicken it looks great. read more
