Zero stars. Crazy, twilight zone experience. My husband took me here for my birthday dinner to enjoy some prime rib. After being seated and waiting a while for our server to come over, a woman dawning a really bizarre, socially awkward esq attitude introduced herself. She told us that every time she comes to our table, we need to put our mask on. She abruptly walked away leaving us confused, all the while serving and catering to 2 other tables who did NOT have masks on while she was at their table. Mind you, no other patrons were putting their masks on and off after every server encounter either. She came back to us after a while and just awkwardly stood there, refusing to give us water until we put our masks on. I meekly asked her if it was just us that had to do this, because we had watched her tend to other tables with no masks, pointing to said tables. She lied at first (she knew we were watching to see if that was the norm) then glared at us for what felt like an eternity, aggressively poured the water splashing it out of our cups, SLAMMED the bread down giving us a startle and huffed away. Literally crazy. We were so dumb founded, and still are. We walked right out and went to Tuckermans for some delicious waygu beef and a friendly atmosphere. Third time is not a charm! Don't bother you'll be very disappointed. We've been three times, twice pre COVID and tonight...it does not get better. Started with a rude Maitre D, not sure why but he was just an ass. Saving grace drinks from the bar were awesome. For dinner make sure you don't have the last reservation the waitress was done for the night before we sat down. Ordered appetizers and dinner both were brought out together. We were served our apps and dinner went back in the kitchen under the lights. It's sad the atmosphere is amazing but overall the kitchen cannot keep up or the wait staff is awful. We have been coming here for a few years now. The best cozy spot with AMAZING martinis. Blue cheese stuffed olive dirty martini is my fav. This WAS one of my fave places. We would attend the Ice bar event yearly when it was offered. We stop in every time we are in the area for a cocktail in the library. Unfortunately we tried stopping in for a cocktail this weekend. They open at 4:30. We got there at 4:33 & we were turned away. The hostess looked over her shoulder & stated they were full. Did not try to accommodate 2 of us adults whatsoever. She said people come in & sit down to reserve these spots before they are even open. She was annoyed by this. Which I get but do something about it. This is poor management. Why would this be allowed. People claim seating an hour or half hour prior to open time & sit there all night. She asked if we had a dinner reservation. So maybe if that were the case she could have found us 2 spots. The library had plenty of seating. There were tables with empty chairs maybe a party of 2 sitting at a low cocktail table with 4 chairs. They were not using all 4 seats. There were spaces along the wall bench seating. My husband & I are both in the hospitality business & this seems to be poorly managed. I'm sad to say we will not be returning to one of my favorite spots. read more

My folks love this place and have been coming for years but my first time staying here and eating here this weekend were very disappointing. For over $200 a night, I expected more. I don't recommend booking room 31, which I booked 4 months in advance- should have picked a different one. It is small, dark, dingy, crowded with outdated, beat up furniture and that garishly bluish-white LED lighting. They seem to be overcompensating for all this with way too many decorative pillows on the bed. My parents room was at least cuter and cozier. I asked to switch rooms but they were all booked. They do a good job photoshopping the photos of the rooms on the website! It has a small window without a view. Well- it DID have a good view late one evening when we woke up to the noise of a brawl happening on the balcony outside our window. Apparently a party of guests got into a fist fight. We got to watch the whole thing happen, including cops, a search in the snow with flashlights for one of the fighters who ran, multiple interviews with the different subjects. It was certainly consolation for having woken us up repeatedly starting around 1:30 am. I thought that perhaps the high price of the room was because it includes breakfast and dinner at the onsite restaurant. The food was even more disappointing than the room. My partner and I don't eat meat so it was definitely lacking in options. It seems like the only good things on the menu are cuts of meat. Otherwise, the pasta, the pizza, the potatoes, the salads, and the breakfasts are bland, unprofessional, overly compensating for this with too much cheese, and often not hot enough. It seemed as if it the food was prepared all in advance and not fresh. Please get a new chef! Seems like a family run business and it's in a nice area, locals seem to love to come here along with my parents so I'm sorry to be so harsh but I won't be staying here again. Lisa the breakfast service manager in the restaurant is a professional and fantastic. And so is the main bartender in the lounge- he makes a great martini. While this establishment has a lovely drive in presentation it is extremely disappointing. The cozy ambiance of the martini bar is lost with the poor drinks. Expecting a New England atmosphere for dinner you are shown to a large white tent suitable for conventions. After waiting for twenty minutes for a glass of wine and then another hour for a bowl of lukewarm soup we gave up. When telling management of problem two young employees in bar said welcome to COVID. I have a business that made it through these trying times and would not allow staff to perform or reply to customers is such a manner. hotel should close and revamp their business practice. This is a amazing place to stay. Everyone that works here is incredibly friendly. The manor house is absolutely beautiful beautiful detailed woodwork throughout. The rooms are basic but clean and nice. The grounds are beautiful and there are maintained trails directly behind the buildings. Breakfast and dinner were included and they were way beyond what we expected. Visited a few weeks back. We chose Stonehurst because we were a party of 7 and they were the only place that took reservations. The atmosphere was appropriate given the name, but also kind of dated. I got a rosemary martini which was definitely the best tasting and strongest drink at the table. Everyone loved it despite skepticism. I ordered the prime rib and I have to say, I was disappointed (and down $32). I ordered it medium or medium rare and it was very cool. This is most likely due to the fact prime rib is slow cooked in advance, thus isnt as hot on your plate. I should have spent a touch more and got the filet. After dinner we sat in the lounge which had a mysterious library vibe with low lamp lighting. I got an espresso martini and was not impressed. Take that with a grain of salt because I'm a Barista and have an espresso machine at home. I question if they have an espresso machine and if not, what did they use for coffee in the drink? I'd go back and get the rosemary martini and a different entree. read more

The manor is beautiful, wish we stayed in here...... We stayed at one of the condos. 12c. It was $815 for two nights. Dog friendly. But, we were unaware that upon departure, we had to basically clean the entire house. We had to remove all bedding and put everything in the bathroom, we had to take care of all trash and bring it UP to the manor, we had to bring our own, which we didn't know until we got here, toilet paper and trash bags and any cleaning supplies. What kind of place does this and still charged this amount to stay?! The dishes we used had to be cleaned and there was a old box of hard dishwasher powder that were in balls. Screen front door latch broken. With having to leave at 11 am checkout, it's crazy after a night with a wedding to wake up 3 hours before to clean! Not recommended at at. Stay at the manor. This was a rip off. Too many rules and responsibilities for a "vacation house". Oh ya. Bring lights. So many bulbs out and not enough lights. The photos on line are deceiving. read more

So my husband went to book my birthday weekend at the Stonehurst manor in Northconway NH (as we have done for the past 15 years) and we have been told we can no longer stay there since last time (which was the first time ever) we complained that the service wasn't up to par (as other people that were also there - a lot of the same people we see year after year also were unhappy). We only complained 1 time in the past 15 years of staying and she had the nerve to state that they try to fix what was wrong which did not happen - no one every approached us. Unbelievable how rude she also was on the phone. We were a group of girlfriends from high school, all over 70 years old, looking for a special dinner out on our last night together. The restaurant at Stonehurst Manor was a huge disappointment! When we first got there there was some sort of a utility vehicle suctioning out water spillage from a pipe that had burst in the second floor area. The hostess was so rattled that she never even looked at us even though we were there well before our reservation time. When she finally did get back to us she kept taking other people's names who came in behind us and kind of ignoring us. Finally we were seated at what I thought was supposed to be a patio with a lovely view. Instead, it's a giant white tent such as you would see at a large wedding with no decor except for white plastic walls. Then came the menu. Our waiter was perfectly friendly but overheated and overworked in my estimation and took quite a while even to get bread and drinks to our table. The bread was hand-torn, undercooked, doughy white bread, a very unappealing presentation and for me inedible. One of my friends had to ask for butter which is weird because who serves bread without olive oil or butter? The prices on the menu indicated to me that at least we were going to get some entrées which would be special in some way with a good chef in the kitchen. I was wrong. The meals were mediocre at best and terrible for me. I ordered grilled shrimp on a Caesar salad expecting something unique and what I got was three out of five shrimp cooked, two of them were under cooked to the point of looking more like sushi. I had to send them back. The salad part was a massive pile of chopped Romaine doused in Caesar dressing and the shrimp seemed like an afterthought. Meals were all priced at around $32 person and I noticed one friend couldn't finish her crab cakes even though there were only two. There are lots of good pub type places in the area, all of which are better than trying for a finer dining experience in North Conway. Go there instead! read more

We stayed at Stonehurst August 21st-23rd 2020. We were very excited about staying here. Loved the history of the home, location and the fact it offered breakfast & dinner (that's a whole other story). Upon arrival everything went smooth, lady who checked us in was as very friendly went over all the details- 10/10 so far. We had booked a "Mountain View room" #10 which I was aware it was not part of the original house and had been added on. The moment we walked into the he room the disappointment started. This room is NOT $405.48 standards. Between the very dated/used furniture, the musty smell and the cleanliness its about half of that cost. See attached photos: The dresser was filthy and something had leaked into the drawer and was never cleaned, no one has ever looked behind or vacuumed behind it as there was a used plastic spoon. The window AC unit has mold growing inside and gave off a musty smell. The bathroom window (lack there of) is full of dirt, spider webs and dead bugs- I don't think this has ever been clean. All the baseboards and even the door has caked on dust/grime. The blinds were filthy and quite gross. Nothing about this room said "welcome to Stonehurst". You had no other rooms during my stay so I could not move and I did not want housekeeping to come in during my 2 disappointing nights. As far the food/restaurant: Our first night 21st, the waitress was very welcoming but everything was EXTREMELY slow. There were a total of 5 tables (inside and out) and we still had to wait 25 min for soup (French Onion) which presentation was "its the end of the night- we don't care what it looks like" Entrees- I had the The Wild Rose and the other person had Lamb, it was mediocre, but fine. Next morning breakfast: The older lady with white hair/blonde was rude and should not be in customer service. She greeted us and got us started with drinks. I had said I wanted juice 3 TIMES and asked her what type of juices do you have.. She kept saying "oh you want tea I will bring the box". Our server younger gentleman stopped by and I told him I wanted juice and that the lady was not understanding me (I do not have speech impediment) and she was going to get the tea box and that I just want juice- he acknowledged. The lady came BACK WITH THE TEA BOX and hot water. I nicely said "Oh I am going to do juice- sorry" as I did not want to make her feel bad. She said nothing, slammed the box closed, picked up the hot water and simply walked away. Nothing was said. Dinner 22nd: We had ordered the onion soup again- it was completely different than night before- this time I think they threw a block of cheese on it. We ordered "Pick any two appetizers as an entree" as it says it also comes with a salad (please look at your menu). With our room stay you get your choice of soup/salad. So we had ordered a soup, knowing that the menu says that entree comes with a salad. Our waitress (dark hair- 40's?) Was quick to say "Oh no that doesn't come with a salad- I know it says it but it doesn't if you have a room here since you get a soup/salad" Both of us looked at the waitress thinking she was kidding- she wasn't. If that is true you need to change your menu or put it on the dinner coupon. At this point we could not wait to leave the following morning. Breakfast 23rd: Started out fine- food came quick. There were a few tables eating but 3 servers. We never got a refill of coffee- I had to walk up to the coffee station where the older rude lady was working again and ask for coffee- along with another table. We and another table (had the same server as us) waited 30 MIN for the check. She walked by a few times- never made eye contact. There were also 4 tray jacks out, with trays full of dirty dishes that stayed out the entire time next to other tables eating- absolutely rude and unprofessional. Needless to say I would not recommend Stonehurst Manor to anyone who wants quality stay/food. I am so infuriated by the cost now having been there. This is not Covid-19 issue either. I had left MULTIPLE messages for a manager and not a single message back. No apology- not even a "screw you". Horrible way to run a business. read more

Got a room facing the mountains. Really fantastic hospitality. Room was clean and had a very quaint feel. There is an outdoor pool and a jacuzzi. Surrounding the manor are hiking trails that are highly recommended. The room came with complementary breakfast which was not your typical continental breakfast. It was much much better. The breakfast is held in the restaurant connected to the hotel, Wild Rose. Fantastic food. The only drawback to our stay was the thin walls as my girlfriend is a light sleeper, she could hear everything from the adjacent rooms and had trouble sleeping. However, Despite that we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay! read more

At most, a 3 star...but we had high expectations. Nice historcal ambience, and mostly kept up well. Our major disappointments were with the front desk hospitality and food quality. Restaurant food was consistently tepid/cold and forgettable; I am surprised that the kitchen would let their plated food be delivered in this condition. The restaurant uses an additional "circus tent" for overflow dining; a positive factor is the COVID social distancing between the tables. They hosted a wedding this past weekend. Unbelievable food, service and spectacular views! I have visited this establishment in the past for dinner and have always been more than satisfied. Stayed at Stonehurst Manor Friday-Sunday for my friend's wedding. While the neighboring hotels were cheaper than SM we wanted to stay where the wedding was to make everything run smoother through the weekend and we're glad we did. While the rooms could use a bit of updating they were very cozy. We had a mountain view and a very roomy jacuzzi tub in the bedroom with a separate shower in the bathroom. Lack of fridge was a bit of a bummer and the wifi was very weak for our whole stay but the incredibly comfortable bed evened it out for amenities. The hotel was covered in lovely stained glass and had a gorgeous woodsy color scheme throughout. Grounds were beautiful and you can't beat the view. Food was good, I enjoyed the pizza more than anything else I ate and that includes delicious prime rib- it's that good. Only negative was when a rude waitress told another bridesmaid who asked for milk FOR HER BABY that she was too busy with her tables to get her milk. We were stunned. Despite that hiccup we had a lovely stay and really liked the front desk staff who gave us gigantic fresh cookies as we left to head home. read more

My wife had booked a stay for two nights in August however due to an error on her part it was booked for July. I called to explain the error and also explain that my wife suffers from an illness and her memory is not what it once was. This is not the first time for us staying here but we will never go back. They insisted on charging us for one night $236 dollars and showed no compassion. The lack of humanity and rude response is enough for us to never step foot on that property again. stayed at this place Sunday Nov 1st 2020...had drinks before dinner paid our bar tab which included a bottle of Champagne sent to the room(I have the receipt) the next morning realized that someone had STOLEN my wife's bag of makeup from the room while we were at dinner...there was no manager or owner at the desk so we left keys and when we spoke to the owner they were EXTREMELY RUDE denying that it had happened and now 4 days later that there was an unpaid bar tab for champagne...after all other charges were processed on monday...I WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND THIS PLACE THERE IS A THIEF THAT WORKS THERE...We offered to send the copy of receipt by email ...we were met wi ty h more rude comments.. Where do I begin? Last June we spent a couple of nights here and had a wonderful experience, so we came back for another stay this week. Something happened between June and October because this experience was totally opposite. Dinner the first night: garlic-rubbed ribeye was cold...sent it back...came back hot but inedible...smothered in gravy to hide the fat and gristle. First breakfast: French toast with apple crisp and bananas foster, both of which were a brown gooey mess (wish I had taken a photo)...waiter offered no juice choices, didn't recite specials and never offered coffee refill. Dinner the second night...tenderloin of beef ordered medium rare...came very well done, cold and dry...this was becoming a disappointing pattern so didn't bother to send it back. Took two bites and left. Second breakfast: Entered "seat yourself" dining room...one clean table available so we started to sit down when a busboy almost knocked us over on his way to kitchen and very rudely said, "You can't sit there, it's set up for six...wait and I'll clear a table for you!" Didn't need to make a very bad experience worse, so we walked out rather than make a public scene. Oh yes, and the room was dark and dirty, and we couldn't get the heat below 80-85 so we slept with the door to the screened patio partially open both nights. Will NEVER return!!!! read more

The manor is relatively small, not crowded. This makes it great for couples. Excellent location! It is very close to everything which is convenient. The view is decent but blocked by trees on both sides. They advertise the gardens, but they are sloppy and need some pruning, edging, and overall care. They had a snowman decoration in the summertime and overall the grounds are underwhelming. The pool and hot tub are very nice and have a nice view. They also have Adirondack chairs to enjoy the view from. The inside of the hotel is very dated. It is very dark, musty and overall feels dirty. Our room wasn't the cleanest. Some of the rooms are very nice, so if you book early you can get a better one. They are not doing housekeeping services so you get a bag of towels dropped off to you every day. You have to bring a cooler because there is no fridge. They provide small amounts of ice at the desk. The walls are very thin so light sleepers will have a tough time, it is a house not a hotel. You are paying for the novelty experience. The lounge is alright, drinks are excellent but service is slow. The screened porch is very dirty and only for drinks service.The restaurant is okay. We had a cockroach, beetles and spiders run across our dinner table, it's not the cleanest place. The dinner service is very slow and hit or miss based on your server. Some servers were awful while others were wonderful. Find one you like and request them and the seat you like. The seating makes a big difference. Make sure you understand your meal package so you get all the goodies included that you paid for with the price of your stay. The dinner is generally very good and portions are large. Drinks are very good too. The breakfast, however is much different. It is below average and the wait staff lacks energy and sense of urgency. The coffee tasted bad and was not fresh which was the worst part about breakfast each morning. Overall though, it is convenient to have breakfast and dinner plans during busy times in North Conway. They give you enough food that you don't need to go to a big lunch in between too. read more

I just had the worst dinner experience. My husband, son and I went for dinner. They sat us in a section close to where they had the doors open for outside seating and it was 36 degrees. Several other sections were near this open door. We mentioned it to our waitress who did nothing. When we were leaving my husband said something to the hostess and all she did was rudely keep saying put your mask on sir because my husband was putting his mask on. She said she would pass on the complaint but you could tell she didn't care. I called and asked to speak to the manager and was told that the hostess we spoke with was the manager. I'm a Manager and would be fired if i acted like that. The woman I spoke with was very rude also. You think if your spending $180.00 for dinner you wouldn't have to freeze. I would never recommend this place. You think the Manager would have taken the time to genuinely try and keep the customer happy but she didn't. They wanted to make those extra few bucks by putting 8 people out in the cold as well as letting everyone else inside freeze also. The food was only mediocre also. Bf and I came here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We got into town late and the restaurant was closing in 15 minutes. Not wanting to put them out we said we'd try somewhere open later. We were already driving off when the manager ran out, flagged us down and told us they made up a table for us! I was impressed and she insisted so of course we stayed. Our server, Denise rushed us a bit and we ordered quickly. We started with 2 martinis. Mine was good but my bf didn't care for his. He politely told Denise he didn't like it and could he have an emerald martini? (I think) instead? She was visibly off put and asked rudely what was wrong with it. I was taken aback! My bf again politely replied it just wasn't his taste. She said 'okay well hopefully you like that one because we just have to throw this away' in a huffy, snide way. My jaw dropped. I was seething. There is absolutely no excuse ever for a server to talk to a guest that way. I am a server and I would never in my right mind behave this way even to a complete asshole. Unacceptable. To make matters worse I heard her complaining a few feet away to the bartender who also was in a huff. At this point I would have rather gone somewhere else or ordered a freaking pizza than deal with this. The WORST service I've ever encountered. I didn't complain as I wanted to salvage the evening but was visibly upset and she never apologized or anything. Any other night I would have asked for the manager but we were celebrating or anniversary and on vacation. I wasn't going to let her ruin our night. He liked the second martini. The food arrived and was very good. We had a margarita pizza to start, the bf got the espresso crusted steak and I had roast duck. For dessert, creme brulee and raspberry cheesecake. Manager came by to check on us at the end, very friendly nice lady. I wish the server was a tenth as welcoming. I would never go back here for that reason. I'm giving one star for the manager going above and beyond and the food. My advice is to hire better staff! Bad service can ruin an evening. Especially a fine dining establishment. Don't waste your time, stay somewhere else. These rooms are a completely antiquated, very uncomfortable beds and very spotty heating system. The service is also terrible. The lobby lounge is very cozy and quaint with a fireplace and fantastic cocktails, however, the bartender there was extremely rude and acted like he was doing us a favor by bringing us drinks. They also seem to have a very loose policy on who gets to sit in the lounge. Skip it and don't waste your time. I ordered a dish I have had before "the papardelle with beef short ribs" The meat was not short ribs but some old steak that had a horrible taste. My friend's steak was unedible. I did not stay here (btw, more like a motel) - I came to eat. The food was absolutely excellent. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, though the decor is a little...kitschy, for lack of a better word. Service was good, though we waited a long time for our server to come by with waters in the beginning, everything else was good after. I loved the mozzarella appetizer. I had the salmon, which was great, but I really loved my sister' grouper. It was on special and it was delicious. I had some sort of coffee martini, which was good, but then switched to Tanqueray & tonic. They have a good martini list. Dessert was good - I had the molten chocolate cake. Definately go - especially on Thursdays, when they do a 2 entrees for $25 special (or something to that effect). read more

We have eaten here before, but finally stayed here this past weekend. Our stay included a king size bed, a 2 person jacuzzi tub in our room, nice view and dinner/breakfast for 2 adults. Gotta say it is well worth it. The food is fairly expensive so to include it in the room rate makes it such a good deal. Our weeknight stay was $200 for the night and the included food would have been over $100 before tip. The hotel is an older colonial style. Beautiful vintage furniture and decor give it this old romantic charm. A few modern amenities might not be there, but the atmosphere is not something you'll get in a more modern hotel. Very clean along with pleasant staff. Before dinner we sat in the parlor by the fire and enjoyed a few martinis along with truffle Parmesan fries. Enjoyed some pleasant conversation with other guests who were awaiting their dinner reservations. Signature drink offerings were very good. our favorite was the one with basil vodka and pineapple juice. The food is fantastic! We got the cream of asparagus soup, root vegetable salad, veal osso bucco and aged prime rib for dinner. All of these were absolutely delicious. It was one of the best prime ribs I've ever had. The veal dish was great with this moroccan/northern african flavor. Something familiar yet unexpected. Fall off the bone veal with a flavorful bed of barley with roasted vegetables. For dessert we got strawberry creme brulee. One of the best creme brulees I can recall in recent memory. Breakfast was a belgian waffle with fresh berries and bacon, while my fiance got oatmeal encrusted trout with a maple glaze, their homemade sausage and prime rib hash along with poached eggs and home fries. The waffle was just perfect, crisp and light. Served with real maple syrup. The trout was, different. Never had fish for breakfast before and probably wouldn't have it again. it was cooked well, but fish just didn't seem to go with the meal. The sausage and PRIME RIB hash were some of the best I've had. I would highly recommend both of those for your sides at breakfast. overall it was a great experience. As I mentioned before, it's not a modern hotel so you can't have the same expectations as say the Ritz or a Marriot. You're getting this old new England charm that is hard to find. First, I'll say this wasn't my first time here. Also won't be my last. The atmosphere and food are great. If you're looking at the place for dinner, DO IT. no hesistation. The lamb, veal, prime rib, and stuffed lobster are wonderful. Pizza is also perfect. John is a wonderful man and server. Michael is a talented bartender with a heart of gold. Lisa in the breakfast crowd is such a lovely person! In fact, all the staff are kind and great. So the two stars aren't coming off the dining, atmosphere, or staff. They're coming off for the room(s). Annually, my boyfriend and I stay in Moutain View room 7. It's our thing. This year, we weren't able to book that room. And when we extended our stay, we had to move to a different room. SO, Mountain room 6 on the top floor. Positives: Wonderful view, lots of space, very clean. Negatives: If anyone walks on the stairs, you are going to hear it... and LOUDLY. There was a group staying on the same floor, and they just wanted to have a good time (not blaming them at all). But that good time included running up and down the stairs at strange hours and talking till 2 AM on the deck (it was freezing so, kudos for them). We had the hardest time sleeping and then got woken up with the skiiers at 6:30 (luckily we were skiing too). Another negative is the shower head. Really cheap fix, but that shower head sprays the floor and the walls, but not directly down, so if you're short it requires some.. finess... which is a bit annoying. Mountain Room 5. OH BOY. This is a slightly smaller room, but its updated and really, who needs that much space? The downside? Its right next garbage, and everytime we left our room there wasn't the best smell. But oh well. The real negative,is it shares a wall with the kitchen. So it was LOUD, really LOUD. Of course, we're pretty easy going, so we listened to the business of the kitchen for entertainment.. but if you like quiet, this isn't your room. My suggestion? stay in the Mountain room 7 or in the manor. But do, def. visit. read more

Horrible experience here. So promising but so incredibly disappointing. For us it went downhill from the moment we passed the sign. The "Manor" is a stuffy, old, smelly building with no sign of life. There is a rock out front near a fountain, the kind you might take a picture on; it has a sign that says do not climb on rock. Not for families, no children allowed in the pool after 5. They threatened to revoke our pool passes because our 12 year old daughter went in the hot tub and we were the only people in the pool area at the time. "Pool passes", really? They are hand written on paper and there was an old grumpy guy actually checking. The townhouse, nicely appointed but musty and dark, not good for allergies. Not worth the money by any stretch. Grounds are beautiful, nice view but is totally wrecked by terrible customer service of the staff. We felt like we were bothering them when we were first checking in and grabbing our keys. So, if you are over 50 with no kids you should still stay away. read more

This is our second visit. Our first time was a birthday dinner for me. The meal was perfect. Our appetizer was Oyster Rockefeller that was prepared in a wood fired stove. This visit is an anniversary over nighter. The room 32B (yes, you can go online and see each room). The room is sweet and cozy. Comfortable and with a working fireplace. If you like to get away and like to do so with your dog, this is a place worth going to in North Conway. I think the location is actually great, it is proximal to a lot of places that I'd consider points of of interests. The grounds of the Manor are also very relaxing. You have a short trail that runs behind the hotel, which is good for a quick morning walk. The restaurant inside is delicious. My wife and I enjoyed every meal we have had from there. And, since your reservations get you free breakfast and dinner each day, you really have no reason to eat elsewhere. The room we had was pretty basic, nothing particularly fancy about it. My only complaint about the room was that the bed's were extremely uncomfortable to my wife and I. But, not everything can be perfect. I'd say that the prices are right, they are pet friendly and the food is great. If we wish to travel with our dog again, we'd likely stay here again. read more

I don't think I ever wrote my review from our families stay last January for the Ice Bar 2020 and I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience. In January of 2020 we spent 2 nights in one of the condos on the property, that part of the stay gets five starts. If you are working in the hospitality industry you probably should have some experience in good customer service. At the Stonehurst and its' restaurant customer service is unheard of. With our meals being included in our stay, but my husband and I had a room at the holiday inn while the rest of our family stayed at the Stonehurst, therefor we added 2 to the reservation for dinner. The hostess couldn't understand that we had a party of 8 when only 6 meals were included. So when my husband and I arrived to meet the rest of our party she literally chased us down in the restaurant to stop us from meeting out party. Dinner service was WELL OVER THREE HOURS. Meals were cold, and the quality of the food was exactly on par with the customer service or rather lack there-of. read more
