    Grilled prime rib

We have stayed here a couple times... not sure why the reviews are so down... Pro's: DELICIOUS DELICIOUS FOOD, grilled prime rib was so so so good and potatoes and vegetables..... staff so friendly, it was QUIET a fireplace and jacuzzi tub were wonderful and a great getaway. Con's: Bed/comforter should reflect the charm of the place... comforter was modern and no bed skirt is weird to see under the bed as a few dust bunnies were present. Do I miss the cookies that we use to get when we checked out yes... but would come back again.

Horrible experience on Valentines Day. Waited over an hour for our meal and more than a half hour for water and wine. Problems in the kitchen are one thing, but water, a glass of wine and salad (which are premade) are inexcusable. Our room smelled like a barn and the bathroom was not very clean. We will not return.

Everything about this venue was amazing! We didn't just get a charming venue, with beautiful views and great food, we received the best of the best service from beginning to end. We live out of state and all of our communication was over the phone or through email. Theresa was always on top of everything!! Theresa, answered every question, gave extremely professional advice and guided us through every detail. She paid such great attention to our plan that when the morning went off track, she jumped right in and helped put things to exactly how they were supposed to be. The owners went above and beyond to make sure my daughters wedding was absolutely perfect & perfect, it was!!!! If you are local or this is a destination wedding, this is the place!!!

We have been coming here to Stonehurst for years every December. This stay was shock and awe for us. We missed last year due to military requirements and so this year when we arrived, we were greeted by all new staff. Vibe was very different from the get go. Front door was closed and uninviting, just different. Staff was polite enough upon arrival., although there was absolutely no one to be found upon checkout. The personal charm is gone. You can feel the change from the feeling of family to the colder corporate style weight. We were shocked when we got to our favorite room, where there used to be a beautiful four post antique style bed which had been replaced by a boring hotel frame bed. If I wanted a bed from the Holiday Inn I would go there and pay half the price. It completely took away from the romance of the room. One of our most favorite things to do here is to get a drink or two before dinner in the lounge by the roaring fire. The patrons had to keep asking for logs as there was no one around to keep it going. The bartender was a super sweet girl but the management was fully aware she needed help and couldn't be both the waitress and the bartender. It wasn't fair to her. We along with everyone were waiting for minimum 30-60min for a drink. If you want to go visit for a drink, I would suggest Sunday when it is more quiet. You will have a better experience. In the lounge we had the scallops and bacon. The scallops were very wierd/mushy, but Dinner and breakfast overall was very good (short ribs are amazing $54) but if you aren't staying it is very $$$ Waitresses were great. The final straw for us was the price gouging. The total price to stay has almost DOUBLED. We were shocked. So, If you used to come when Mike the bartender and Heidi the "hostess -of-everything" were here, you will instantly feel the lack of personal touch and care. Nothing against the staff, they are doing the best they can with what they are given. This was our last stay unfortunately and it was just always something we always looked forward to every year for the past 10+ years. I think new patrons will not realize all they are missing, but it's a shame that things have gone down this way. For us it was very sad and disappointing.

waited two hours for two of our meals and never received them until we were ready to leave and they were boxed up. when we got home we opened the pizza box and there was a cold, moldy pizza that had obviously not been made that day. The other meal was not even what was ordered. We will never take guests there again.

I was a little nervous about my wedding with new owners. But I can not express enough how amazing Teresa was. My guests specifically said they were amazed at her attentiveness. I had no worries on my wedding day because of her, and I could just focus on all of those wonderful memories that we were making. The food was out of this world. We had prime rib, crab encrusted cod. And the hors d'oeuvres were incredible. My favorite were the mini crab cakes. Teresa was born to be a wedding planner. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for helping to make such a beautiful day... amidst hurricane winds, lol. Bravo!!!

I dined at the Stonehurst on Tuesday, Feb 7. had the prime rib and it lacked the smoked flavor from past visits. I've been dining at the Stonehurst for years and this was the first time I was disappointed. $44 is expensive for an average prime rib.

Here again. Room 34 this time. I like this room. On the third floor, so it is a little bit of a track up the stairs. But once you're in here? It's like your own little oasis. Downside? It's very cold out today. The room is a little drafty. A little on the chilly side, but we have a fireplace if I want to light a fire. So that is a plus. There's all new staff here at eating times. I guess we haven't been here for a while. Not sure. However, incredibly attentive. Rohan was our waiter for both dinner last night and breakfast this morning. Absolutely adorable and bending over backwards to help us. He needs a big fat raise because he's just a wonderful addition to the Stonehurst Manor crew. I wish there were maybe more things to do while lounging by the huge fireplace. Maybe board games or a few decks of cards ? We will be back. We love it here

Cute and romantic spot tucked away on a hill. Went for drinks with friends who rave about their martinis and the staff was so pleasant and helpful, we had a great time. We didn't order food so I can't speak to that but will have to come back to try it. Breakfast and dinner are included if you stay overnight. The place could use a little sprucing up but overall a cute spot.

First, I want to genuinely commend Chris, who went above and beyond and appeared to be one of the only consistent staff members throughout our stay. He was responsible for cooking breakfast, bartending, cleaning, and general hotel upkeep. We were told he had worked 10 days in a row, which speaks volumes about how severely understaffed this property was. His effort was appreciated--but no employee should be carrying an entire hotel. Because of the staffing shortages, cleanliness and maintenance suffered significantly. Several rooms--including one we reserved--were clearly neglected. A chair in one room was covered in marker scribbles, trash cans had no plastic liners, and housekeeping was unable to provide daily room refreshes. For the price paid, daily cleaning and upkeep should be standard. The amenities were especially disappointing. The hot tub was visibly dirty, with sludge and foam present, making it unusable. To make matters worse, all of the outdoor chairs appeared to have been carelessly thrown into a sloppy pile next to the hot tub, completely ruining the area. It looked unkempt, uninviting, and poorly managed--definitely not a space anyone would want to relax in or take photos near. The bar was technically open, but with so few employees, getting a drink involved long wait times, making the experience frustrating rather than enjoyable. Breakfast also fell far below expectations. The buffet was extremely basic and overcrowded, with only ONE waffle machine for a very large number of guests and minimal food option Overall, the cost of this stay did not align with the condition, cleanliness, service availability, or amenities provided. This is not a reflection of the hardworking staff--especially Chris--but rather a serious operational and staffing failure. Until these issues are addressed, this property does not meet expectations for a Marriott-branded hotel.

Otherwise, it's fairly barebones and minimalistic, but very clean. The beds were clean and reasonably comfortable. I didn't try the breakfast at this location but it looked like the usual Fairfield breakfast with cereal, yogurt, waffles, and a couple of hot items (eggs, breakfast meat). The dining area is large and spacious and looked well-maintained. It's a nice touch to have a skimobile in front of the hotel as homage to the past Mount Cranmore resort area that I used to vacation frequently. The staff in front was pretty polite and friendly, though I did not have to interact with them very much. This is a good choice if you wanted a hotel closer to the North Conway Village, though you probably still would have to drive or bike there.

We were randomly assigned room #324 which we thought was so funny because 3/24 is Boyfriend's birthdate so although we usually prefer being on the top floor, we decided to keep it. It was super quiet this time, and we never heard anyone walking upstairs. Very nice gym and breakfast area downstairs. They have a hot chocolate station with toppings and mini marshmallows! And make your own waffles station, again with various toppings, eggs, toast, bagels, English muffins etc. Rooms are spacious with a kitchen area with a full fridge, microwave, even a dishwasher and you can request a cooktop at front desk to cook in the room, probably very convenient when traveling with kids. We loved our stay here and will most likely be back when in North Conway!

Even without the familial connection, I'd be absolutely in love with this place. Family and friends gathered this past weekend for a memorial hike in honor of my dad, who passed in 2007. Leon and Nellie went out of their way to accommodate us, down to even offering additional rooms when some extra guests appeared and getting up extra early to make us to-go egg sandwiches we could take long on our hike up Mt. Washington. Both our group and the other guests at the Inn were treated like treasured friends in their home and it felt like a big old family reunion for us all. The Spruce Moose is the perfect location---a short walk to the adorable North Conway village, and a quick drive to countless hiking options. The decor makes you feel like you're visiting friends in a luxurious mountain home. Zeb and Avery, the two trusty labs, greet you at the door and will cuddle you on the couch for hours if you let them. The beds are comfy, and the rooms contain no tvs so you can truly enjoy the nature around you (though there IS wi-fi if you need your technology fix). Breakfast in the morning is delicious and filling. Tea and coffee are available at any time. It was an amazing weekend, in no small part to Leon and Nellie. I will be back to the Spruce Moose the next time I come to North Conway!

One thing that I didn't like was the wall air conditioning units. Like the last time we were there, it turns off in the middle of the night, ugh! The sheets were kinda scratchy as well. Plenty of parking but far away from the rooms on the left side of the hotel.
