We loved this place before March 2020 happened. We even supported with twice a week pick up food. Was just back here a few days ago. The nachos, have changed before closing the doors. Chips, cheap bag bought, the cheese is the stuff you'd get at a carnival and the added chicken, at $4 was barely seen. It's comes with pulled pork & chili, I don't like either so added chicken. Manager came out telling me it's a 6oz size. I still didn't see 6 small ounces on the large plate of carnival food. They didn't even comp us for our complaint. Will NOT be back. Don't order the once famous nachos...They seriously are that bad.... read more

I have been back a few times over the past few months and things have improved. Service has been good. The food is very good. I had the full slab ribs and they were delicious. The vegetables are equally as good as is the slaw. A friend had the pork chop and it looked good, I should have taken a picture a she munched it down in no time, saying it was excellent. Chicken salad no complaints either. I did view the nacho plate at another table and it is huge. Decent amount of TVs for watching a game. And another perk of off track betting. Taste and temperature of food was good. My steak was prepared exactly how I like it to perfection. Pricey, but what place worth anything isn't today? However, I paid $8.40 for what turned out to be an incredibly small portion of macaroni and cheese for my daughter. Really small. And I paid $3.00 to add mushrooms to my steak and there were none. The service is very slow and so is the kitchen. Our appetizers and dinner came out at the same time and they did not even wait for us to clear our salads. The food has really changed. This used to be our go to spot to catch a game and some good food. Now the food and specials are just not good. Very dry chicken, ribs and fish. I was a big fan of the soup now it is all salty. The weird thing is I've never been charged 50 cents for mayo and 50 cents for two pickle slices.we asked the waitress and she was like I told you everything was extra. But since when is mayo extra? Great place to catch a game, have a casual lunch or dinner, or sample some cold libations. Think sports bar mixed with a north woods cabin atmosphere. Really a nice place and the combination of the two themes works well. A unique twist is that it is part of an OTB (Off Track Betting) place so you can sit on one side of the restaurant/bar and play the ponies while you dine or sip, or you can sit on the other and take in the ball games. The daily specials are great bargains----especially the $1.00 tacos on Wednesday nights. The place can get downright swamped with a mix of families, singles, and groups out for a good time. We highly recommend the buffalo shrimp appetizer. It is so large, and so good, that you can have it as a meal. It is a must order if you like large shrimp and some spice. The lake perch and all you can eat fish is also excellent and worth an order. The rest of the menu is your typical sandwich/burger spread with some salads available for those in the mood for something healthier. Service is excellent, friendly, and fast. They have a large and diverse bar, with a nice selection of crafted brews. Highly recommend the Moose Drool. Tasty! read more

Here is another place I have been to many times over the years but never wrote about. The rating of 3 1/2 is more appropriate. This restaurant is also an OTB which is in a separate room with its own entryways. The races are broadcast in the restaurant as well. Overall this is a sports type of place and a nicer one than many. The menu is decent and has a variety of apps, salads, sandwiches and entree's. The quality of the food here is very good. The place is usually full on the weekends. The prices here are not the best on the food and drinks for what they serve. A bit on the high side for what you get. I had the prime rib on my most recent visit. It was good. You get a one pound piece with a potato and veggie. My friend had a prime rib French dip sandwhich and he said it was very good. I have tried many items over the years here and never had a bad meal. Overall this place is a nice alternative to the other casual places in the area and you can get a decent meal and be entertained especially if you like horse racing. read more

Met with a few family friends out here for dinner tonight. Decent beer selection From what I had the food was alright. We had the seared ahi tuna appetizer which was over cooked; the tuna was quite tough and more cooked than seared. My biggest complaint though would be in service. Nearly every time I asked for a beer it took about 10 minutes to get it. This really disappointed me and was the biggest turn off. Overall, average beer tap selection, decent food, and pretty poor service. read more

My wife and I went to the Stoney Point Grill. She ordered the fillet. When she got it, she tasted it and immediately exclaimed "It's like mush." I tasted it and it wasn't like mush. It was mush. The steak had absolutely no texture. I took a piece of her steak between my fingers and pressed them together. The steak oozed out. It was like paste. My wife said it had the texture of apple sauce. Some parts of the steak were edible, but my wife ended up throwing most of it away. Do not order the fillet. I live in Tinley Park not Bloomington. read more

We come here all the time, both with and without our daughter. It is a bar but has an area with tables that is suitable for a meal with kids. The staff has always treated her like gold and is great about bringing her food right away instead of waiting for ours. We also come here often with friends and have a great time. They have a great variety of beers and other drinks, with good specials, even on weekends. We always order the buffalo chicken dip (or two!) to share at the table because it's awesome! We've tried a lot of different things from all parts of the menu and have yet to eat something we didn't like. We will definitely continue to be regulars and bring friends here to join us! read more

We enjoy the specials the food is good but our experience on Monday was not great. Our waitress was either not good at her job or just didn't care, our food arrived brought by bus service we had no plates after 5 plus minutes we flagged someone down to request them. We didn't see our waitress until our meal was almost done it was difficult to even get a second drink from her! She didn't clear plates or my previous glass, we originally were going to order more shrimp and a dessert but because of the lack of service decided no thanks! It took twenty plus to get our bill and several requests! If we do go back we will definitely never have this waitress again. I only gave it three stars because the food and specials are good. My first review! Yay!' I met a friend here after dropping my adorable new puppy at the vet for a bath after his check-up. I was told that the fried pickles were a must have. I was a bit skeptical that they come with ranch dressing (which sounds pretty gross) but DO NOT BE AFRAID!!. They are AWESOME!! I also had a prime rib sandwich that was really good. "The incredibly shrinking ribs" This review is for my last 4 visits. They serve the ribs on a large square plate and they used to hang off the plate at a diagonal. Then they just fit on the plate. Now they shrunk to the size of an appetizer. I came her for the all you an eat ribs for $17.99 that is clearly shown on their website. When we got our drinks I said, it's rib nite. The server said, yes it is. 1/2 slab for $12.99. What? He said they kept changing their suppliers and they couldn't get the quality right. B.S. But you failed to change your website. Nice. When we finally received them, I was wondering if the bbq sauce cost more than the meat? As I had a thin stripe across both 1/2 sides. They are still tender. But dry as the bones they are hanging from. Can't anyone just leave the food as is and charge more for it. $20 bucks for a slab is a good deal, but not when you advertise $17.99 for all you can eat. "The Server" As we waited for the check. The server walked by 6 times. My glass was empty and we were both finished eating with bones piled high. I had to flag him down and then he asks. Do you want another vodka lemonade? Yes, let me hop into my Tardis and go back 15 minutes when I was still eating and needed a drink because I didn't even have water. I get the tab and he charged us for that extra drink that would have been delightful. It took another 5 minutes and then he grabbed the check holder and said, any change. Yes actually, to the bill. Paying to get out is taking longer than dinner. We were seated in front of the bar at the waitress station. Now I know why he was throwing away so many bills after he got the cash. My girlfriend and I come here once in awhile to eat Tacos on Tuesday. Honestly out of all the times we have been here we have not had a ONE pleasant experience. Chicken tacos are a simple quick food to make and we always wait 20-30 minutes for our food. The service here is underwhelming as well, waiters and waitresses don't really seem to know the menu and always screw up our order. When we request to have no onions or tomatoes on our tacos we always have them on. I don't want to be the guy saying don't go to this restaurant because they do have a nice set up and decent deals. They just need to fix the issues that we CONSISTENTLY have when we come here. read more

Stoney Point is a great option if you want to hit a sports bar with good food and a quality beer selection. The space is half OTB and half restaurant-sports bar. My favorite app is the pretzel breadsticks with cheese...just delicious! Usually, I order a sandwich for my entree, (the burgers are very good) and they make a great side salad. The beer list is very respectable and they change up the featured list regularly if you are looking for a nice seasonal craft beer. Stoney Point has become a fast favorite of ours due to the consistent quality of food, reasonable price point and upstanding selection of beer. read more

We wondered into Stoney Point on a Tuesday night. Understandably, the customers were scarce. I can imagine that this place fills up pretty well on a weekend night but being there during a slow evening allowed us to really look around and take in the layout of the restaurant and bar. The decor is a modern take on a classic high-end sports bar. Flat screens decorate much of the walls but are done tactfully and are managed skillfully. The specials seemed reasonable, although we did not drink. Instead, we both ordered sandwiches. My chicken pesto was very good but hard to eat with my hands. I found myself using a knife and fork to cut it apart and enjoy it in pieces. I chose their garlic mashed potatoes for my side. They were certainly made with real potatoes and very fresh garlic, however, I was left feeling that they were a little dry. It felt that some kind of cream to it might really have helped the dish realize its full potential. My companion ordered the pulled pork and his plate was clean by the end of dinner, indicating his enjoyment of the meal. I'll be curious to return during their busy hours. I'll be curious to see how much they fill up and how service is effected by the increase in volume. read more

The interior is very warm and cozy. There's a brick fireplace, comfortable couch sitting area and kind of a fancy North woods feel. There is a huge oval center bar & It also houses off track betting. I like going to this place on Friday & Saturday nights for dinner because it has a fun, friendly local vibe. It is a bar as well so it can be loud. They have a large menu with a good mix of fish, steaks, ribs, pasta, salads & of course burgers. My favorite here is the ribs. For $18.99 you get a huge full slab that are oh so tender and yes I am going to say it "fall off the bone". They have fresh Perch and Walleye that you don't see on a whole lot of menus.
