We went to this place quite often. This past weekend, we have had enough. If you go to this restaurant, plan on a 2 hour meal. The staff is not very professional. It takes forever to get your food. We ordered 2 sandwiches and chicken tenders for the kids. It took 40 MINUTES to get to the table. We thought when we first started going here that it would get better. NOT! It does not matter what waitress we get, it always takes forever to get your food. I am told 1 of the owners only cares about money. The longer it takes to get your food, the more you will drink and spend. The food is good. But unless you want to feel that you are not important, that they are doing you a favor, and you want to empty your pockets on booze, stay away. read more

Last night was my first time there. I do like the many micro brews that are served. I had the Walleye Shore Lunch for dinner. It was good, but not the best I have ever had. It was more like it was baked. It came with Wild Rice which was good. I had the Moose Drool Ale from Big Sky Brewery. Very good. Not as dark as a Guinness, but definitely not a sissy beer like Miller Lite of Miller 64. Remember if you pee darker than your beer, Man Up! Don't be afraid of the dark. The service was a little slow, and it seemed to take forever to get our food. But all in all, I will try it again. Maybe I will try the Walleye sandwich? read more

The very best time EVER!!! The Blackhawks Road Watch... The restaurant had taken reservations, the place was beyond full. We needed a table for 6 people, the GM was so over the top nice, she asked if we could hold off for 15 minutes while she could could figure a "Game Plan" as she said. Less then 5 minutes we were all seated by the front windows. I think the GM's name was Denise. We asked about a few Appetizers as she pointed us in the direction of bread sticks and the Nacho Platter. The group was very shocked with the size of the Nacho platter. I went in for the first time and not one person greeted me or even made eye contact. I went to the bar and did not get any attention. There could have been more than 10 customers in the place on a Sunday at noon. After waiting 10 minutes and no acknowledgement I left. After all the other comments I was totally shocked at the lack of professionalism. I heard that the food was good but unfortunately I wouldn't go there again. First impressions! read more

We don't have any complaints with the food or service but the atmosphere here is obnoxiously loud. The Video Slots cheapen and degrade an otherwise fairly decent place. Don't come to listen to music - the only sound tonight was the grating electronic buzzing of the slots combined with a lot of shouting from people who were bellied-up to the bar. This place is a nightmare. It looks nice, and the bartenders are great. But the positives end there. Overpriced average food and a terrible atmosphere. My friends and I were watching a basketball game there. We ate, drank and ran up about an $80 tab. Then the manager changed the tv to the hawks game a half hour before it started with about 30 seconds left in the basketball game, without even asking us if we were watching the b-ball game. We just left and went to Morgan's which was much better. Unless you're a major Blackhawks fan, and I mean suicide if the Blackhawks lose, don't even go near this place. I'm a hawks fan, but there's something really wierd about this place when the hawks start. And even wierder is that nobody there, except for the owner, seems to care about the hawks. Food is great. But the bartenders aren't friendly and act like you are annoying them if you ask for anything. One of the bartenders dropped off my boyfriend's beer with two inches missing off the top - if I pay for a full beer, I expect a full beer. I asked for a manager so I could talk to him about a job - never came over to talk to me. The bartender gave me an attitude when she dropped off my tab and just straight up looked like she hated her life. My boyfriend and I were looking for a new spot to go on Sundays and this could have been it if the service didn't fall so short. Such a shame because the food was really good. read more

Went for a late dinner on a Friday night. Verrrrrry odd vibe. Like a pick up joint for people 40 and up. Unnecessarily loud. Lotta locals. Hostess acted like we were in the wrong place. Not unfriendly, not friendly. Seemed shocked that we asked for a table ( lets just say we arent the demographic they seem to cater to.) Conversation was impossible. Waiter couldnt hear our orders. Ordered steak. Hubs had a chicken dish. Steak was pretty good. Chicken dish was just awful. Chicken breast in an oily sauce. Chicken was unseasoned. Overcooked unmemorable veg. Waiter was extremely smug and short, but again, not unfriendly. Service was good. I would say skip if if youre not of their demographic (white and middle aged.) They have tremendous monthly giveaways, including a shoot the puck with an autographed Blackhawks jersey for a prize. I have frequented this place quite a bit in the past year. It's nice to have a place right in Mokena to have a nice dinner, watch the game at the bar or do a little OTB. The food is always delicious. This was a fun place to stop and spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. Food was above average for a bar/OTB. Started with onion rings for an appetizer they were awesome! Went here yesterday with my cousin. Nice place! Clean! Very friendly staff! Our waitress, Abby, was outstanding! I had to have several changes to food prep for dietary reasons and chef/cook & waitress were very accommodating! Both my cousin & I had the bourbon salmon, green beans, salad. She had rice, I had french fries. She loved her whole meal! I loved the salmon, green beans & salad. I didn't care for the french fries. They seemed to have some kind of batter on them. But I loved rest of food so much that I will be returning. But next time I will try sweet potato fries or something else. The only thing is I wish they would have baked potatoes. Wow, really like this place. They have great soup and best of all walleye. I like mine prepared grilled or blackened. My husband had it fried, but it wasn't all battered like some restaurants do. Hard to find walleye in Illinois. Fresh is the word I should use for the fish. Has salmon, perch also on the menu. Atmopshere is really nice. Love all the seating for games and get togethers. We've been coming here since it opened even though we don't bet on horses. I was hesitant to go at all because of the OTB, but glad we did. Besides the horse betting sideshow, which is great entertainment on busy Saturday nights, there are plenty of tv's for watching sports. The bar features a nice selection of craft beer and house special martinis. My wife always gets the raspberry divine. It has a great bar, very large, and great bartenders that manage to keep up with demand. Our favorite appetizers are the wings, buffalo chicken dip, and the nachos. They have a very talented kitchen staff that works hard to put out nice specials. I try to go with the specials most of the time, otherwise, I go for the burgers and sandwiches. read more

Stopped in today for dinner and took a table at 7:45 pm. Waited 25 minutes to be served and never once did someone approach my table. Asked for the manager who was also a server and simply put, she really didn't care. However, she did state that the owners refuse to hire a hostess which really wasn't the point and that the owner is trying to cut cost. The place was packed and there were not enough servers but there approach is doing business is very poor. OTB shares the space, so in addition to the huge variety of TV entertainment laid out everywhere, you can also get in on the action. When we were there, we had a reservation issue.
