    Stacked cheeseburger & parmesan fries
    Lakisha C.

Stoney River has quickly become one of my husband's and my go-to dinner spots, and we've also brought multiple out-of-town family members here. Every dish we've tried has been delicious, and the service is consistently excellent, whether we're seated at the bar or at a table. If you sit at the bar, you're treated to complimentary spiced popcorn (so good!) and can also ask for their signature rolls, which are almost like dessert -- warm, cinnamon-sugary, and served with whipped honey butter. My favorite dinner orders are the cheeseburger with parmesan fries and the bistro chicken (minus the capers). The cedar plank salmon and Tuscan chicken are also great choices.

We stopped here for lunch. I got the crab cake. It was phenomenal. The service was quick. No complaints

Wedge salad, those yummy yummy rolls and an amazing martini with hand, stuffed blue cheese olives

Came here for my birthday and was so happy when I left! My belly was full, the food was delicious. The only thing I can complain about was that it was super crowded and a little bit noisy.

Gratuity is completely based on the same bill.

The food and service was amazing and it is great place to eat. My issue was when the bill came. The gratuity 6%-8% higher on the Merchant copy vs the receipt. I don't know if they are pulling a scam or just the system was messed up. JUST BEWARE, check your bill if you attend to go there.

Chicken Panko coated with a creamy lemon and caper sauce, and drizzled parm. The other entree, the medium rare prime rib

Date night dinner with my wife on a Saturday was simply flawless. We were greeted by the pleasant hostess and immediately seated for our reservation. Amelia the waiter was knowledgeable and efficient. Our water and drinks along with the heated sweet rolls and honey infused butter were served up within 5 minutes. Rombaur Chardonnay and Macallan scotch 12 year old. A nice start. The chilled fresh iceberg wedge with bacon, tomato, and blue cheeses dressing was the best I have ever had. Full stopThe 16 pounce prime rib medium rare was thick and cooked perfectly. A little more flavor in the crust would have been nice but that's a nit pick. Au gratin potato with the entree dripping butter and cheese (yum). My chicken coated with panko and parm was perfect. Smoothly seated, served, and paid in just over an hour for $120. We now have a new local favorite!

    Ribeye and au gratin

Alexis was my server. She was fantastic. I ordered the French onion soup and the ribeye steak with au gratin potatoes. Best meal in Deer Park. The ambience is dimly lit and nice and cozy. Great for a party of one like me in business. I'm from California. This might be better than the steak restaurants in my area. Come here first! Don't dilly dally like I did. You won't be sorry.

First of all, the parking lot is very confusing and part of it is rather torn up. It is also occupied by several John Deere tractors, which I think is part of the overall feel of the restaurant. Upon walking in, this is definitely old school decor something that hasn't been touched in years and quite frankly if you like the nostalgia, this is definitely the place. The bar area is quite interesting as there's actually water and live frogs living in the bar top of the bar. We ordered the same sirloin three times as well as the prime rib. There was quite a bit of drinks as well ordered. Overall service was great, but our very young server had no idea and had never heard of Meg Ryan. I would say if you're looking for a little bit more of an elevated American steak dinner that is better than any other common chain out there. This is the place for you to come to very casual and laid-back really great to see huge parties of families coming to have dinner for whatever the cause or celebration was as well. Apparently, also the owner has his own cattle farm and supplies, beef to the restaurant. These price points for his beef are slightly higher than the standard venue. However, keep in mind all cuts our choice. I do not believe anything here is prime other than maybe prime rib as it's called.

Steak was cooked excellent, and the sides were phenomenal. Delicious drinks. The second time we went for lunch to try their lunch specials. We were thrilled with the choices- we got a steak protein bowl and a cheese burger with fries. Both were large portions and tasted fantastic. Also, VERY affordable at about $40 for two to eat beef for lunch? Yes, please. We will definitely be back for both lunch and dinners.

I am a wine club member and am a huge fan of the wine tasting experience there. Though most months there are only two brand new wines to try, it's still fun to revisit additional wines I've already had and sometimes the tasting room associates will recommend blends of two wines that I haven't tried mixing before. I recently found out from one of the associates that you can bring snacks to the tasting, which has been a real lifesaver as generally I'm doing the wine tasting on an empty stomach before dinner. Now I bring pistachios or pretzels. I wish they'd offer their pretzel bread during the tasting, but maybe that would make people linger too long for the tastings. Dinner is consistently good here, with my favorite order being Dana's Parmesan Crusted Chicken, second favorite being the Gnocchi alla vodka, and third the Crispy Asian Sesame Chicken salad. And of course, all of these are made better with a side of the complimentary pretzel bread! Cooper's Hawk also has the best espresso martinis! Just sweet enough but not creamy.

I'm a big fan of this concept with comfortable seating in a spacious restaurant, plenty of parking,…read moregreat presentation, friendly service, and attractive decor. Compared to similar restaurants in this space, I prefer to go here with friends for its generally quieter atmosphere and overall vibe. Maybe the biggest complaint here is that the food preparation can be a bit inconsistent between dishes, and between different meat types. That is, that the output can range from delicious to somewhat average (and sometimes overcooked), depending on what you order. For example the birria was super flavorful and served with very crisp tacos and a delicious consomme, but the cilantro-lime rice and refried beans felt like an afterthought. The smoked pork belly quesadillas had a great flavor and just about the right amount of fattiness that was short of perfection due to the pork being overcooked. The tres leches cake also had a great creaminess and flavor to it, but parts of the cake weren't really soaked in the milk at all, which created an inconsistent experience - depending on where I took the bite. On everything I tried though, the presentation was excellent and there were enough great things about each dish to overcome some of the shortfalls. Overall though, I feel with improved execution on ensuring that all elements of the dishes are equally good in terms of texture and flavor -- there's a lot to love about Ancho & Agave. But even in its current state, it's still an enjoyable spot to take a group of friends for tasty food in an impressive looking spot.

When we told our name for our reservation we were told it was going to be about 10 more minutes- even though the restaurant was half full. I was super confused because the entire bar was open and there were at least 10-12 open tables. The person checking us in goes "what you've never had that happen before?" - referring to having to wait for a table - SO incredibly off-putting and condescending. I told her she was being rude and she got defensive and giving us all these excuses- that the kitchen was backed up, etc. We immediately walked out. We were fine with the waiting but the way this employee handled things was insane. The way this should have been handled, and how it's handled in hundreds of other restaurants we've been to is: offer to sit us at the bar or ask if we want to get seated and then tell us there's a back up. or even say "I'm so sorry" Like at least show SOME hospitality. I emailed the location to say all of the above, and they did offer to send us something in the mail, but I will not be accepting. There are so many businesses in this area, go somewhere else that appreciates you as a customer.

That said, one of our friends is a foodie like me and loved the menu with plenty of seafood options and he found it challenging to select something as it all looked so good. We started with appetizers of Fire Shrimp, Octopus and Jumbo Crab Cake. We all shared and was absolutely amazing! My wife ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Pasta which she had the week before. Last time it came with a little heat, but this time was a little bland for her but was still very flavorful (so somewhat confusing). FYI the lobster comes in two halved pieces w/ shell (a miniature lobster, not meal sized one) For me, the apps were not enough. I ordered Rice Élan Style w/ 4 Sea Scallops (Arborio rice, butter, sun-dried tomato, spinach, citrus blend, parmigiano reggiano). This was really good and the scallops were so flavorful. I also ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Yes, I was hungry. It was a generous portion and includes chunks of lobster, not like other places where we are searching for where the lobster is hiding. Service was amazing as usual. I expect nothing less. Since it was my foodie friend's first time, they gave him a gift card for a free bruschetta app next time he comes in. It is dimly lit. It not dark as every table has small touch lights. So, apologies for the pics as they may be a little dark. Certainly looking forward to next time!

Kyle was our server and he was excellent. His attitude was positive and he took time to converse but was also quick with his service. The server often makes the experience and Kyle did his part well! As for the food, we started with a half plate of grilled calamari which was more than enough for two people. The calamari was excellent tasting and perfectly cooked. The sauce was tasty and great for dipping your bread in (you get warm toasty bread at the start of your meal with a plate of seasoned olive oil for dipping). Next, we split an entree of Chicken Franchese which was more than enough food for two people...especially after the calamari. They split the meal into two plates in the kitchen, without us asking, which was really nice. The chicken was tender and flavorful. We substituted angel hair pasta and used the sauce from the chicken instead of marinara. It was excellent. We had some food left and Kyle boxed it carefully for us right at the table (I typically don't like when they take your food elsewhere to box it. I typically do it myself but this was good). Prices have crept up over the years but portions are huge and with service like we had, it makes it feel a bit more worth it. The restaurant is small and a bit cramped inside. There's typically an early crowd that thins out around 6:30 pm. You may have to wait a bit to be seated if you don't make reservations. Hopefully they move into a bigger spot in the mall they're in to make it a bit less packed. Two bathrooms are single occupant and clean but there can be a wait to get in. Gianni's is an excellent restaurant with a great team. You should check it out.
