This place is FIRE!!!! I've been here a few times over the years, but my last experience was amazing! I'm still thinking about my filet! I'm not one to really jump on a chain restaurant bandwagon, but my last meal at Stoney River was dining at the finest! My filet was top tier and it was grilled to perfection! I came with a friend of mine from out of town and this was her first experience at this establishment. We both ordered the 10oz Filet. Mine was served with a mushroom sauce, Béarnaise & mashed potatoes. My friend ordered the coffee encrusted filet, Oscar Style with a loaded 1lb baked potato! We were both in steak heaven with every bite! For drinks we each ordered a raspberry lemon drop martini and split a bottle of wine. I can't wait to come back and do it all over again! Lol

I created a steak salad because I was not a fan of the choice on the menu. The steak lacked flavor but overall I would order again. The herb vinaigrette dressing is really good. Service was okay- I could tell the bar service was overwhelmed prior to ordering. Ambiance is clean and casual.

Celebrated an anniversary here and was into the cozy vibe + mood lighting, and the bar area is cool too. Staff were nice and helpful. The steaks and sides were prepared well, while the garlic poppyseed bread rolls and ranch dressing on the house salad were a bit of a surprise (both tasted more sweet than anticipated but not in a negative way). Their chocolate cake had an impressive size (enough to split and have leftovers) and was decadent. Will have to return to try more!

We had a work retirement luncheon here and I've never been here but was impressed with this place. Very nice inside and roomy. The food was amazing as we ordered several appetizers for our tables and all were great! I ordered the cedar planked salmon for lunch and wow it was amazing!! Our server was very nice and attentive all afternoon. Everyone said their lunches were good and tasty. We all thought it was a little overpriced that's all. They have great though!

Very nice dinner with friends. Seasonal drinks but, happily settled with a delicious spicy margarita, jalapeno vodka ;) . Had to order deviled eggs, after 3 others said they'll enjoy, so I didn't eat all 6 halves. Delicious yumminess I happily paid for too ;) As for dinner, so many good choices! Enjoyed the meat loaf with mushroom sauce ( something I don't cook myself) and switched from mashed to baked potato. The sauce on the side ended up on having with every bite! Truly, a very nice meal, I'll enjoy the leftovers!!

I'm amazed the rating is not higher! Nice inside, typical for a steak house. We asked the server for recommendations and ordered three of them! Everything was excellent! We started with steak egg rolls. Very Yummy. For me though, the pecan crusted trout stole the show! First, it was huge! Enough for three meals. It was so light and flaky. I would never have thought of pairing honey mustard with fish, but it was sooo delicious! The green beans & mashed potatoes were plentiful, but standard. Honestly, I didn't care because everything else was so good. I almost forgot about the bread... little sweet donut like bread rolls with a light cinnamon butter. I can't wait to return!

yummy crunchy sesame hot bread rolls, served with a sweet butter.

I would have given them 5 stars. I went on a Sunday they were totally busy and I would say understaffed. It was a longggggggggggggg wait time for everything, although I was seated right away. it seemed like I waited an eternity for my server. Someone did come and get my drink order and I still waited even longer for my server. She was kind just swamped and I have great patience so I understand but I waited a long time to place my order and then to finally get my food. I think I got a ribeye or New York paired with scallop potatoes. I ordered it well done just because trying new steak houses can be shifty. I was impressed with the quality of the meat. It was prepared perfectly. It wasn't overcooked it was still juicy and tinder--and had a delicious flavor. The bread that comes before the meal is absolutely mouthwateringly delicious. I want to try the eggrolls the next time I go and hopefully the wait time won't be so ridiculous. Very cute bar area. The restrooms were clean. The restaurant is huge and the staff was polite and friendly. My server was incredibly kind too. She was just overwhelmed. It was just me however I was there for like two hours. It was too long--she kept apologizing for it. Hopefully next time my wait time won't be so long.

My friend had a gift certificate for a dinner for two to this restaurant. My friend asked me to join her for dinner, and I went as I had never heard of this restaurant before, so I was interested in trying. I had glanced the menu beforehand and had in mind some appetizers that I was interested in ordering. Once we arrived to the restaurant, everything from the wait staff, to the ambiance was very nice. We were seated and our server (server name is Nester G) came right over to the table and immediately took our orders. What we didn't know, and to our pleasant surprise is that the gift certificate for two not only included two dinner entrees of choice, it included an appetizer, soup or salad, and dessert. I was totally shocked, in a great way! Especially since my friend explained as to the reason she received the gift certificate was due to an unpleasant experience at the restaurant in the past We ordered the Steak Rolls (appetizer), House Salad, Cedar Plank Salmon (Entree), 14 oz Ribeye (Entree), and Carrot Cake (Dessert). Everything was delicious! There was so much food for leftovers as well, as the portion size of the entrees were a nice size. And let's not talk about the massive size of the slice of carrot cake, it was huge enough to share some of the restaurant and take home for leftovers. I even went back a few days later to order a slice of carrot cake to go, that's how delicious the cake is! Well, Stoney River has won a new customer! I've been raving and sending pictures of the food to my other foodie friends to spread the word about the restaurant since dining there. I definitely plan to return to try more menu items! And my friend was happy to have a pleasant experience opposed to her previous experience, and she also will be returning to the restaurant in the future!

From our server Quinn to the amazingly prepared and fresh tasting food, it was back to what I originally thought of this chain. It was a Monday night so it was not busy and there were 7 of us so we were seated right away. Our food arrived very quickly after we ordered and looked amazing. I love that they offer seasonal menus so you are almost always going to find something new on the menu. Additionally, the summer menu is all under 600 calories. That's a bonus! I ordered the Grilled Corn Flatbread, hubby had the Avocado Toast, and my niece got the Filet Mignon. I didn't take a pic of every person's orders - just those flanking me. The Flatbread was excellent - it had cheese and spiced bacon as well as sour cream so the taste combination was excellent. Hubby said his Avocado Toast was the best he had ever had. Then, for more waiting! And I waited and waited and waiting! They brought my lobster bisque! I tell you! They just do not know how to make a lobster bisque in Birmingham thus far! Not up to par. Did not even return to remove my bowl or replenish my water! Never saw them again! Then, I waited another long time until they brought out my main course which was pathetic and the sauce with it was so salty that I couldn't even use it so I did sprinkle some lemon on the fish and try to eat it. The best thing about the meal was the green beans! I ate part of the fish, but it was more or less tasteless! Not one time did my server come to check on me to see if everything was OK and as she was bringing me my check, she poured me some more water, that was really good. The only time she checked on me! I do want to start with some thoughts before I give the highlights. We were charged a percent for using a credit card. I cannot speak to the in-person menu, but I combed the online menu and it did not mention that. We were also charged for ranch. Most places do not do that, and we were not informed there would be an upcharge. Most places allow you a sauce to go with fries. Also, for my meal, there is an image of an extra sauce which it did not come with, but we were charged for two small portions of ranch. Last, the server was just okay. I always enthusiastically ask questions to get to know more about a place. I asked if they had any other fruity drinks. She pointed to the drink menu and indicated just the Paloma. I said, but you have a full bar, this is the only fruity drink you make? She did not want to ask the bar, but I asked her to. The bar apparently only came up with one other drink idea, which I ended up getting two drinks listed on the menu (both very good) but it seemed like work for her to go out of her way to inquire. I also bet they could have made many fruity drinks, like maybe a Mai Tai, or some equivalent. Oh well. On the other hand, the Paloma was actually very good. It was a quality Paloma and I do recommend. Their other drink was seasonal with lavender, also a very nice drink. Most of the other places, like Honcho, I have no problem with getting a variety of drinks or inquiring about them, and the bar tender here did a great job. I came here because I was targeted by an ad on Instagram. This place was not on my radar, but since they created a meal (Steak-frites) very similar to Le Relais in Paris and New York, etc... I wanted to try it. It came with bottomless parm fries. The fries were crispy, savory, and delightful. The steak was super well cooked and was like butter. You did not even need a knife, it cut with a fork. Since I love next day leftovers, the steak was still super delicious and tender the next day. It was still like butter and cut with a fork. I would absolutely come back for that and bring the rest of my family. We also tried the tri-tip sandwich. We were told the bread was made fresh. I thought it was very good and very tender. My husband would have liked an au jus or horseradish sauce. He would try the hamburger next, but I would love another steak-frites, like right now! We were sad the coffee and pastry section closed early. In the past, at Honcho, we would get coffee and pastry after dinner since their coffee tends to be really good and quality. I would consider coming for brunch to try some. We talked to a gentleman who was part of the business as he was working hard. He was very kind and knowledgeable and took the time to hear our thoughts. I told him I was here for the steak. He thought I had a "but". I did not, it was great and I hope they can maintain that price point and the second serving of fries, because that was my main reason for visiting. He let us know the menu recently changed. I am not able to compare since this was my first time, but I liked that they had a steak dinner and pizza. If we come back my oldest loves this group's pizza, she gets it at Vinsetta, and this one looked very good.
