When I moved into this and another unit, there was a musty smell that was a dead giveaway there was mold. So I stored everything I could in airtight / water-tight containers. Obviously I couldn't protect my bike and a few other large items, so before the rains started in October, I stopped by my unit to throw tarps over the other large items. I took photos every time I visited my unit just in case anything happened (theft, damage, etc.) When I went to clean out my unit 2.5 mo later, the bike, a storage box that had a textured surface, and all of the tarps had to be thrown away because they were covered with mold. I have been recovering from exposure to toxic mold that made me extremely ill, so I am still to sensitive to even be handling such items. At least the bike got plenty of use before this storage unit rendered it hazardous to my health. So while you will gain convenience in accessing your items whenever you want, the converted shipping containers have leaks and mold. Plan accordingly. Three stars for the (seemingly) affordable price and good security.

It's been 2 weeks They had no problem taking the money but giving it back seems to not be tops on they're priority list. Also my chair was moldy due to rain need to have that cleaned but it's 100 and haven't gotten my deposit back to have it cleaned. So yes 24 hours open but has cost me in the long run. Disappointed.

We got a great deal on a unit that was on their second floor because there was no elevator. We only had boxes so that wasn't an issue for us. We also loved that there are other businesses operating out of the building, so you never really feel alone. We also liked that if we wanted the guys to open up the back loading dock, we didn't have to park, walk around the building, then walk through the entire building to open up the door- instead you just give the guys a ring and they let you in! When we moved out they were super friendly and made the move out process seamless. Trust me, I was ready for a battle with them, but they called/texted and made sure I was taken care of. I was told that I could pick up a key on my next visit after joining. I tried knocking on the office door the next time I came in - nothing. I called and was told that I would have to come between 9 am and 11 am to get the key. The next week I did come at 10:15. Still nobody in. Finally today after calling three times with no answer, I was told that they are no longer giving out keys for afyer hours access, and are closing at 8pm. I dont mind that they close early, thats honestly what most storage units do. But I was clear when i joined that I was joining them specifically for 24 hour access, which i need for my business. San Bruno Storage is an excellent choice. No rot, no mold on any of my paper items. It is important that there is available parking outside at all hours, which makes loading and unloading more convenient. Restroom is available during office hours. Cargo elevator to save yourself some muscle power. Security is important, without disclosing the details lets just say I am happy with the security arrangements. Unlike those big corporate franchises, Lisa is a one person management department, which is the best management. She is the one that handles all the administrative work, answers the phone, replies your emails. The rent is acceptable. Give Lisa a call.

I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years but they no longer value my patronage. They not only raised the monthly rent multiple times (which is expected for inflation) but they also discontinued a discount that I had on my unit since they knew I would be a long-term renter. When I tried to negotiate a compromise, all I received back was pretty much a "Don't like it? Then get out." I hate businesses that don't keep their word. Very disappointed how they've become just like any other public storage location. =(

This was by far the most accommodating and nicest staff I've ever come across. They are diligent about contacting you about any changes. They took care of me and helped me out on several occasions above and beyond what they needed to...I won't site examples because I don't want them to be bullied into doing the same for everyone that demands the same. But they really were so accommodating. If it weren't for that fact that I spent several years paying for a storage unit in a place I was not coming back to, I was actually sad to leave the place. Wondering when would there ever be an occasion for me to come back to army street storage unit? I actually had to have them cut off my lock because I couldn't remember my code ‍. They do it for a very fair rate, immediately on site. The actual moment he cut all the way through the lock I screamed that I found the code on my phone! We had a good laugh and he helped me acquire a new lock to temporarily keep my stuff safe. Great staff. Very reasonable prices. Accessible units (no riding an elevator and using annoying carts over and over just pull your car through the gate and right up to your unit). Only until I discovered the leak and the damage had been done, did anyone 'admit' to the leaks. Apologies are nice, but nothing can give me back the heirlooms that were ruined! Just beware if you rent there. Furthermore, it wasn't condensation (my things were not touching the walls, but a true leak in the seam of the roof. Sorry, Sherman.
