We ended up getting a 6' x 10' unit and they currently have a 2 free month deal if you pay the first 12 months up front. My boyfriend and I spent hours today packing stuff up and loaded it in truck to take to storage. Showed up... Little sign posted on door says closed to observe the holiday. I've been storing my things here for a few years now, I was curious to see if there was anything we could do with my monthly rate. So when I walked and talked Christianna, I was happy to hear we could adjust rates because of a holiday promo discount they had going on. Thanks for being so helpful Christianna! As for the storage grounds, I've never had any problems here, they've always been very responsive. One time the string to the light in my unit snapped and when I mentioned it to them, they were on it. Next time I came in the light string had been repaired. CUSTOMER SERVICE, CUSTOMER SERVICE, CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am so pleased and happy I found this place. I was in SD for business and as I was going to different locations to find a storage facility for a project my company is working for and you would think that finding a storage unit would be easy, well to my dismay, it was more challenging than I first thought and one of them was because of the lack of customer service until I found SD Storage, it was like I saw the light at the end of my dark tunnel. I was looking for another location for equipment that will need accesses frequently and when I met Lisa, she was so helpful and in fact after explaining my situation, she found the exact unit that I was looking for and I didn't even see it. She listened to what my needs were and found the perfect spot and location for my guys to come in and out of the storage with ease as they will be hauling equipment daily. When I called, I told her that I would be there and when I arrived she was very busy but still managed to acknowledge me and let me know that she will be with me shortly. A few other places I went too, didn't even say a word to me and acted as though they were doing me a service. I feel that part of doing good business, its important to acknowledge the person and look at them and just at least smile or something to let the customer know that you will be with them if you are busy. Lisa was very pleasant as she showed eye contact, smiled and her body language was assertive yet she maintained professionalism at all time. Some of the units I visited the people acted like they were at home, too comfortable and casual with the professionalism. It wasn't assuring for my property and my safety. Lisa looked like she knows what she is doing and can multi task at the same time by providing good customer service. I am very thankful for all her help and service. I felt very comfortable and safe. I will be using her service in the future when we have more projects located right near our work place, the beach :) read more

This place is pathetic. Woke up this morning to find out they will be closed all day today open for a couple hours tomorrow and closed Wednesday night until next week?!? Are you serious people it's a major holiday and my family has all their ski stuff in a locker that we need!!! I ended up calling the local police and filing a report so we can continue this in legal proceedings. To wake up 5 hours before a flight and find out the storage unit is closed is almost laughable when not considering the seriousness of this situation. I called and said I need someone to let me in immediately and they said they were having a company party, what a joke. read more

I would give this storage facility 90%. Other than a few very minor mistakes and lapses in pest control and providing information about their operation hours (open-gate hours), they have been very flexible and cooperative in managing storage spaces and accounts. Especially, they have facilitated shuffling the accounts, payments, and spaces to make life easier on the already-stressed out customers. I would recommend this storage facility to new and existing customers. read more

This place used to be great but not now. I have been in the office personally and on the phone numerous times to set my account up through direct withdrawal. They set it up, take out a payment, and then refuse to process the next payment and then, charge fees and lien fees. As far as I am concerned, it appears that they are intentionally screwing up the direct deposit payments to create fees that should not be on the account. It is as fraudulent as it gets, and I am moving my stuff elsewhere. I will never use them again. I don't know if it was a change in management or a change of staff but the incompetence is staggering and I cannot keep wasting my time with a company that makes it impossible for payments to be processed properly. read more

Darlene is an absolute sweetheart! After being misled by Price Self Storage (all the negative reviews for Price Self Storage are true. Website and pricing very misleading, with a bunch of add on fees etc), Darlene from Stor'em Self Storage was very refreshing. What you see is what you get. She made sure to mention a one time admin fee for $20, so no surprises, and all the other nickel and dime fees other places charge, you don't have here. You can use your own insurance as long as you provide proof, or you can go with the storage insurance for $9 a month. Again, straight forward, no hidden charges, and you are given the option. You can use your OWN lock, or they have a cylinder lock that can be provided. If you want very helpful, insightful customer service, Darlene sets the standard. She is patient and all too happy to answer 500 questions, even when you are probably the last caller as you waited to call right before they close. She is very knowledgeable about the pricing, policies, etc, all around 5 stars. Keep crushing it Darlene, and thanks for all the help and guidance! read more

I strongly recommend staying away from this place. It is a very poorly run operation that I would never trust with my belongings. I made an online reservation and quickly got both an email and a phone call. The guy on the phone was friendly but he quoted me a different (higher) price than what was on both the website and the email. He also didn't even know my move in date (one of the very few pieces of information that I entered to make this reservation). But at least we were able to establish all of the correct info fairly quickly. He asked when I wanted to come see the unit and I said I would come over that same day and he said that was great. Half an hour later (around 2:00pm), I'm at the storage facility office, which has a sign on the door saying "Closed" right next to their hours of operation which indicate that they should be open. After waiting a few minutes, I called the number on their website and spoke to a guy in their off-site customer service department, who said he didn't know why they were closed. He told me the only thing he could think of was that maybe they were out to lunch, so I should hang tight for another 20 minutes and see if they come back. Ummm...no. If you can't handle keeping your office open during your own business hours and expect me to hang around to see if you show up, you're basically begging me to find someone else to store my stuff. read more

S.D. Storage was perfect for my needs. Sarah, the staff member that helped me, was super friendly and helpful and drove me on their golf cart to see the unit I was considering renting. She could not have been nicer. The 4x10 was the perfect size to fit the contents of my 5x8 uhaul trailer and had the added bonus of a free first month. I'm only giving this 4 stars because I thought the website was misleading as far as pricing and claiming that there was a "first month free" special. That didnt end up being the case (apparently, it only applies under certain conditions) and the units REALLY vary depending on their location. That being said, I was SO grateful to Emily, the staff that helped me. She literally spent an hour driving me back and forth between units, letting me compare locations and prices, and helped me decide on a size that would work best my storage needs. Her patience and expertise were the only things keeping me from giving up on this process and leaving. I would hope all the other staff are just as helpful, and if so, I definitely recommend SD Storage. The location is hard to beat. read more
