Excellent date place. It is by far a good replacement to the pub that use to be here. The decoration's are great the overall ambiance is excellent. The bar is well put together and the staff is very professional. For the food: I had the pork chop which to me was incredible. For the size and portion it was perfectly cooked. It is very difficult to make a pork chop cooked as well for as thick as it was. On a prior visit I had the Ragú di carne. It was well made. Clearly they make fresh pasta. Honestly got nothing but great and happy thoughts on that dish. I just wished that it would have had more ragu. That was the only part that was disappointing. While eating at the restaurant the bread was well made but needed something extra. Overall I have to say that I will never be unhappy coming back. read more

First and foremost the food here is over the top. We happened to meet the chef who is from Italy with an authentic Italian accent to match. His family was eating right by our table so we saw the best choices for food go by and ordered a few of the same items. The sauce is flavored to perfection and being Italian plus having gone to Italy it truly brought back memories of the same ambiance in Italy, sitting in an Italian restaurant there. Love it here from the atmosphere to the food and service. All of it combined are the perfect vibes for a Sunday afternoon spent sitting on the patio eating a plate of bolognese and people watching. The appetizers are great, marinara is delicious, salad, pasta, roasted veggies all are awesome. Their coffee and gelato bar is fantastic as well, they have a marshmallow cap that's really nice (not too sweet) and I love their olive oil cake. Amazing pasta and great portion size. My sister has been dying to try this place. We got the carne pappardelle pasta and the shrimp pappardelle both 1/2 portion and full of so much flavor! We even shared a side pear Gorgonzola salad and the table bread. We had multiple servers and were frequently checked on. They were all knowledgeable and quick to answer. First time trying here! My friends and I ordered a ton and split everything. Great place to do so! There was a big menu with a variety of options. We were most interested in this place because they have homemade pasta. It was good! Here is what we ordered and what we rank, 1 being best: 1. Cacio e pepe 2. Meatballs 3. Crostini 4. Vodka (pasta) 5. Ravioli The desserts were actually our favorite! 1. Bomba 2. Cookies and cream gelato 3. Salted caramel gelato 4. After walking in and finding a table, I waited eight minutes and then finally went back inside to find a waiter at the bar. He followed me out to my table with a menu and followed up with notifying the waiter of that area who is standing in front of the kitchen. Another eight minutes goes by and I walk out. The 3rd time's the charm. We had driven by this place several times, but we could not manage to get there when it was open! The first time was a Monday, and they are closed Mondays. The 2nd time was after 2pm, and they are closed between 2 and 5pm. Finally, last night we got there after 8pm, but it was still open. I liked how the table included a big bottle of water that we could refill our glasses when we needed. Whitney was our waitress, and she provided excellent service with a fun personality. After a little discussion, I chose the Antipasti for 2, which had a better price break than the single portion. Hubby decided on the Vongole (clams) linguine with white wine sauce, a small Pear and Gorgonzola salad, and the Italian Mule cocktail. Everything was nicely presented and delicious. I asked Whitney about the cheese selections, and she got the owner to identify the others besides the brie choice. Tonight, the board included Manchego and Parmigiana-Reggiano. I also enjoyed the salami, spicy salami, prosciutto, nice green olives, artichoke hearts/pickled veggies, and toasted ciabatta slices. Lots of leftovers for me to enjoy tomorrow. We followed her advice by ordering the Salted Caramel gelato, and I selected the Cherry gelato for an alternative. We agreed that the Salted Caramel was a hit. I decided to try this place after Roma D'Italia told me they had an hour long wait and this place had a 15 minute wait. So glad I did! The food is so much better than Roma D'Italia. The menu here has so many yummy sounding options and it was hard for me to choose just one. I got the gamberi e prosciutto papardelle, which came with both shrimp and prosciutto. The noodles were so silky yet slightly chewy. And best of all, it came with quite a few shrimp considering most places give you one or two shrimp. Flavor was wonderful, it came in a light slightly creamy tomato sauce. Only thing is at $21, I would've liked a few more noodles to fill me up. Considering how expensive Italian food has become, I can't complain about the price really. For appetizers we got the Calamari Fritti which came with a side of salsa di pomodoro piccante. It was really good because it was lightly floured yet crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. We were craving Cacio e Pepe, so I did a quick search on Yelp and this new-ish restaurant in Old Town Tustin popped up. Upon arrival, they had a decent sized parking lot, although it seemed quite crowded. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. We came for dinner and it was chilly outside so we requested indoors. Unfortunately we hadn't made reservations, but they were still able to squeeze us in on a busy Friday night. We were seated right behind the hostess desk, though, which was a bit distracting. Service was friendly and attentive. We started by sharing the Calamari for $15, which was decent (I've had better). It was light, but unfortunately not super crispy. Next I had the Caprese salad for $14. That was probably the best part of the meal. It was fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately the Cacio e Pepe fell short. It looked the way it should, but the flavor was not there. It definitely needed more pepper and it should've been more creamy. Fortunately they have two portions/prices - $11 and $15. I opted for the $11, which was more than enough, especially since the Cacio e Pepe was just average. Authentic Italian restaurant in Tustin! Ordered the antipasto and calamari fritti for appetizers they were 10/10 good! Especially the fried calamari!!! Ordered carbonara and salsiccia ragatoni for Main. Carbonara is the saltiest Carbonara I have ever had in my life! Not sure why it is sooooo salty! When I asked the waiter he said it's because of the anchovies, not sure why he told me that because the dish only contains pancetta, cheese cooked egg and cream. It is understandable if it's the pancetta, but why would you tell me it's because of the anchovies?! The salsiccia rigatoni is much better, all of the pasta is cooked all dente and this dish is much better than the Carbonara! Also had their salted caramel gelato, super good! The place is very crowded, which consequently made it a bit of a shouting match to have a conversation with anyone, although I guess that's just the nature of having a lot of people in a small area. We've had the ragu pasta, salami panini, and the paper and walnut sala which is so refreshing. They also offer kids menus, which thankfully they have butter pasta for my toddler (if you have a picky 2yo... you know the struggle). And super pleasant surprise is their almond cake, it's so fluffy and buttery, order with coffee for an afternoon dessert. Notes:The parking is small, but normal for Old Town. The restaurant closes between 2-5, but the cafe side is open till 5 (i think). I tried ordering to-go over the phone but couldn't get through, they have online ordering available, but it wouldn't complete my order. Best bet if you want to-go, order in person at the Cafe. Very nice area to walk around and we came inside to get gelato! All the flavors looked interesting and out of the ones that I tried, they were all delicious. I forgot the names of the flavors but I got pistachio and the hazelnut chocolate one that tastes like nutella. The strawberry tastes fresh and the cherry tastes like marashino cherries. The pasta was perfectly al dente - great job! Prosciutto, in a way like bacon, always goes well with any seafood dish by adding an extra dimension to the flavors. Paccheri alla Panna: Paccheri is a traditional Neapolitan pasta which looks like a giant and thick tubular macaroni (for the lack of a better description). The pasta was tossed in a light cream sauce with a hint of white wine and pieces of Cotto ham, mushrooms, and peas. It was a delicious plate but the only disappointment was that the pasta was slightly undercooked and was a tad harder and more chewy than al dente. The restaurant felt trendy, and the vibes were both lively and relaxing. The servers were all cool, friendly, and attentive. All these factors made the dining experience comfortable and enjoyable. Other than the slightly undercooked pasta, the food was top-notch quality and rivaled some of the better pasta dishes that I've had in Europe. Prices are above average for similar places in OC. A pasta meal for two without drinks or apps can easily run over $50. But it is certainly worth the price tag if you are not looking for value, but rather a more refined taste of fresh and authentic Italian pasta dishes. read more

CALAMARI - This turned out okay, average at best. VODKA (Penne) with CHICKEN - They literally just poured tomato sauce over the penne pasta and added unseasoned dry chicken slices. It was the most boring, tasteless, and disappointing pasta dish I've ever tasted! SALCICIA - Hubby ordered this and said it was good. I tasted it and it was better than what I got, but nothing note worthy. CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE - Hubby ordered this for dessert, and liked it. TIRAMISU - This was the best out of everything we ordered. I mostly filled and satisfied my hunger eating this. Service was great. Our server was polite, and the rest of the servers were helpful and responsive as well. I dined with a group of friends for a birthday dinner. Unfortunately, an employee dropped dishes and glasses on the floor. The shattered glasses cut and injured a person on the leg. She got cut and had bruises. No one from the management came over to apologize. Their excuse was that none of us complained loudly and they thought we were ok. I think they should have done a better job making things better for the person who got injured. Very disappointed with their attitude towards this incident. read more
