I showed her the confirmation email I received from ChowNow, and she asked another employee to help. Both ladies were very nice and tried to figure it out, but they still couldn't locate the order. I then showed them my bank account, which showed the payment as pending. The older employee told me that because it was pending, the payment probably didn't go through and that I would need to purchase the food again. I explained that a pending payment does not mean the payment failed. I just left Walmart and my purchase to Walmart was still "pending." They called the owner on the phone , and I was told that I would need to purchase the food again. Even after she too a picture of my bank statement so she could send it to the owner. At that point, the older employee decided to call ChowNow customer service herself. They confirmed that my order had gone through, and while she was on the phone, they sent over the order confirmation. I showed her the confirmation, which stated that my food would be ready at 2:05 PM. Even after that, I was told the kitchen still hadn't received the order and that they had to wait for it to come through before they could make it. I completely understand that technical issues happen, but I don't think it's reasonable to put the customer in the position of having to prove that they actually placed and paid for an order. I placed my order at 1:13 PM and didn't receive my food until around 2:00 PM , nearly 45 minutes of waiting for a shrimp po'boy sandwich. The employees were polite and did try to help, but the overall experience was frustrating and could have been handled much better. Having to wait nearly 45 minutes, prove that my order was actually placed, and almost be asked to pay for it again left a pretty disappointing first impression.

Located smack dab in the middle of the District, the moment you walk in you feel like you've been transported to a portside restaurant in New Orleans, with plenty of boating equipment and fish models everywhere. King's Fish House specializes in seafood, as you might guess from the name, but I was quite surprised at the different types of seafood they have on offer here. Ranging from simply grilled fish, to Cajun and Creole seafood offerings, to even a raw bar and various seafood specialties from around the country and the world (they even have sushi on their menu!), King's Fish House has it all for those that love good seafood and more! Needless to say, after coming here a few times both by myself and with family, I love this place. Some of my personal favorite items include their yellowtail poke, the grilled octopus caponata, and their shrimp and scallops, but the real treat is the specials that come in every few months or so. This time around I got their Cajun-spiced cedar plank salmon, and it melted in my mouth. Make sure to save room for dessert, too -- my favorite desserts include their bread pudding and butter cake!
