Cute place. Then we went to order. The lady behind the counter hurried us to order when we were the only 2 in the place ordering. When we got out our food we had to fight with flies to eat. The ribs where excellent how ever the brisket was dry and a bit tough to cut. The entire time we were eating the lady behind the counter was on her cell phone. Finally tried Storrs for the first time today. It's been on my "go try" list for quite some time, as my husband and I enjoy good BBQ. I ordered the St. Louis ribs with a side of mac & cheese (a must have w/BBQ) and hubby ordered the Brisket and ribs. Both came with coleslaw and (dry) bread. The good: the mac & cheese and the Pinot BBQ sauce. The bad: The ribs were undercooked and too tough to properly eat. The brisket wasn't tender either. The coleslaw was really pretty awful. Brisket is killer... maybe the best I've had. Zach makes absolutely stunning pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. I was in Newberg for a three-day video shoot and we ate there two of the three days. We probably would have eaten there on Wednesday too but they're closed that day... That would be my one complaint: They should NEVER close. TIP: For a little extra kick to the sauce, combine their Texas Pinot Noir with the spicy Asian one. Saucy heaven. I really wanted to love this place, but it was only adequate. My main criticism is that the portions were small. I got the sampler platter, which I believe was the most expensive thing on the menu, and left still hungry. The food itself was good, not the best BBQ I've ever had, but I ate it all. The sauces were a bit different, not the usual assortment. None of them really made my day, but that is just a taste preference so you may love one of them. They were all kind of thin, like Kansas City style, not rich and spicy like Southern BBQ. Again, that is simply my taste preference, so I didn't knock them down a star for that. I would go back if I were nearby, but wouldn't make a special trip for it. I would also look at just buying meat by the pound, as it may provide more bang for the buck. read more

First of all, the ribs are great, the dry rub they're using is amazing. Best in the area as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a big pulled pork fan, but it's good too. Brisket is pretty good as well. I don't like a ton of smoke in my BBQ so I usually stick with the ribs and wings, but smoke is relative. Sides are fair to good. Biscuits and gravy are great as well, gravy has a hint of heat. Homemade ice cream pints and sandwiches are usually interesting and mostly tasty. Everyone I've dealt with there have been very friendly and helpful! Only gripe I have is the lack of ice for drinks! I go there pretty regularly, and would definitely recommend! read more

This is a very good bbq joint in a cute storefront in downtown Newberg. The brisket was very soft and tasty. The decor of the place is hip, with a chalkboard menu, no ghastly photos of the food, and a nice-looking bar with swivel stools. The menu itself is not very comprehensive (no fryer, apparently, as they don't offer any fried food), but it has enough to present solidly. I tried the cole slaw (pretty good) and the baked beans (same). One of the best offerings is the ice cream sandwich, made on-site, for only $2! They also make their own ice cream sold in pints. They have many beers on tap. The management could work on keeping the place cleaner. We were there mid-afternoon and I noticed napkins on the floor and some leftovers on some tables, none of which was cleaned up while we were there. Also, I noticed that their bbq sauces include HFCS -- that's a disappointment. read more

If you are going to say that your brisket is too fatty, hand it over to me! Honestly, it is brisket and it should be fatty. I do not understand why people think like that. The brisket is delicious and very tender with a thoroughly blackened crust. It makes for good sandwiches but I prefer it by itself. The ribs are very tasty but tend toward the chewy rather than the fall-off-the-bone style. Yum. read more

I have been wanting to visit for a few weeks now, but due to the fact that they close at 7 pm, I had to wait until a weekend. This morning I wanted biscuits and gravy, so my partner and I decided to give it a try. When we walked in, we were immediately overwhelmed with heat. It was only about 70 degrees out, but it must have been 85 inside. There is no sign indicating that you order at the counter, or if you wait to be seated. There's nothing like that awkward moment when you wonder what the appropriate action is. Well, we ordered our biscuits and gravy, and coffee. I would have liked to be able to order eggs, or maybe another breakfast item, but they only have biscuits and gravy. I mistakenly assumed that since they open at 7am, they would have more breakfast items. It smelled like a meat smoker, which was appealing while we were there. Later, when I realized that we still smelled like a smoker, it was not such a good thing. The biscuits came quickly, and they were great. Buttery and crisp- tender and flaky on the inside. The gravy was good, different than any other sausage gravy I've ever had. I couldn't find any sausage in mine, although my partner did. I had mostly what tasted like pulled pork. It wasn't bad, it was just different. I don't think I'd go out of my way to have the gravy again, but I would like to try the other things on the menu. I'll probably have to get takeout though, as their hours are so odd, and the lingering smoke smell was a little much for me. read more

Best Breakfast Hash I've ever had hands down. The male server was very nice too and even just picking up my food to go, he made it a great experience. This place is quaint and super cute. Reasonable prices. 9 dollars for a plate of meat, coleslaw, bread and a pickle. I got the wings and my husband got the brisket sandwich. The sandwich had this delicious creamy sauce on it that gave it some extra flavor. I liked that they had sauces on the table so you could choose how you wanted to flavor your meat and how much you wanted. The pickles were obviously homemade dill pickles and they were excellent. Finished off the meal with a pecan pie and an ice cream sandwich that was peanut butter and chocolate. Spectacular. I will be coming back! This was pretty legit BBQ. Some of the best we have had on the west side. A bit pricey (what BBQ isn't?) but worth it. Go early, once they run out of something they are out. This is real BBQ people, you can't just throw a frozen piece of meat on the grill and call it BBQ. Two stars because the food is good and keeps us coming back. The upsetting to my wife and I is that we get 3/4 filled beers EVERY time and have to awkwardly ask them to top of my $6 pint of beer. They seem to hire George Fox kids who know nothing of beer pouring (because they aren't allowed to drink beer). Once it was so bad the server literally handed me half beer half foam (I am not joking) and I was completely dumbfounded. I'm blown away because I know the owners are also the owners of the Pink Lady (which is one of the best restaurants in Oregon).
