Oh my goodness gracious -- I would like to shout from the roof tops about how amazing my lunch was from here today. I had the veggie lunch set and I cannot tell you loudly enough: THIS WAS THE MOST PERFECT MEAL. It is some legit Japanese home cooking (girl, I felt that in my SOUL)-- that mushroom rice, spinach side, and kabocha was ON. POINT. And this was by far the best miso soup I have ever eaten in a restaurant (I see you daikon, and I appreciate you, hand cut tofu). To the chef who made my food -- I wish I could hug you. Thank you. I love this place! They have some really unique menu items. I tried 1. root beer milk- this is milk flavored like root beer. It was a bit too sweet but I loved the idea and am a fan of both root beer and milk. 2. oolong tea- they give you a whole pot 3. Welcome to Colorful Colorado ($13)- salt vinegar hash, ham, pickled radish, asparagus, spicy adobo sauce and poached eggs - this was delicious! One of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. It was fresh, unique and perfectly seasoned 4. spiced fruit toast $5- apricot and prune toast with whipped salted butter- this was ok. I keep forgetting about this place, but while family was visiting, they wanted to try. During Covid, they are accepting RSVP only for dine in, since ir was last minute and just placed my order for pick up online. We got the waffles covered in peaches, eggplant sandwich without the halloumi and the Colorado hash. All were really good. My brother is a vegan and said the sandwich was excellent, the eggplant wasn't slimy or too mushy. My sister in law really enjoyed her waffle as well. The hash had 2 perfectly poached eggs, ham, veggies and pickled onion, the pickled onion was great with this dish. The food was ready on time in 30 min and it's great to have a great brunch place nearby. The restaurant is really cute inside too and they make their own breads and muffins. Visited stowaway kitchen on a Sunday around 8:30am. It was a bit busy but were seated right away. There seem to be no waiting line even after we left at 9:30am so you might be safe arriving before 9:30am without having to wait. The parking was easy to find on the side street and it is free on Sunday. I went with the Colorful Colorado. Really enjoyed the spicy adobo sauce thought that it gave the dish a kick. My wife went with the scram sandwich which was good but we had mu her higher expectations. Overall a great place to try out. Food was amazing! We sampled all the baked goods, then were unable to finish our meals! Tart, coffee cake, and scone were life changing.

I LOVE trying new brunch places. And as soon as I saw a sourdough waffle with saffron cream and grilled peaches on the menu, I knew I had to come in. Also got to try the japanese asa-gohan dish, which was basically like a poke bowl with cooked salmon instead of raw. Highly recommend adding a little soy sauce to this dish (or even just a pinch of salt) to get the full flavor. The restaurant has a patio and great open-air feel for those who are just getting back into eating at restaurants post-covid-shelter-in-place. Heads up when you're heading over, the restaurant is basically unmarked. Look for a tent sign ;) read more

These guys know their coffee! Would highly recommend treating yourself to their delicious homemade sourdough fruit toast (mine had delicious apricots and came with two extra thick toasted slices) with a cold portion of salted butter for spreading and their fresh coffee. It comes with a free refill so I got the opportunity to try two amazing brews. Both were darker roasts which isn't usually my thing but I can't recommend stowaway enough! You really get a sense of community paying this place a little visit! read more

We also charged the colorful Colorado which was good but not mind blowing and didn't make think I need to run back. The reason for my three star is that service is slow. In a world of hour wait times for brunch, Stowaway is a freakin gem! They sat us immediately and we had quite possibly the best food we've had so far in Denver. I had the eggplant halloumi and bf had the colorful Colorado. Both were absolutely divine! The pickled radish on the CO was so good and everything about the sandwich was perfection. Best brunch I've had in a very long time! Highly recommend the porridge, colorful Colorado, and Japanese asa-gohan. Also had an amazing Mexican chocolate donut. I'm sure everything is delicious here! Our server Hayden was very knowledgeable and helpful. The only downside to our brunch experience was as we were waiting for a bill to come, the hostess approached us, and said there are people waiting two hours for this table. Don't want to rush you, but essentially we need you to leave. I was so caught off guard and made uncomfortable that it ruined our delicious dining experience. I hadn't even received my bill and was just waiting to pay so I could leave. Once I got to the car I realized we had been there for one hour and 15 minutes which I don't find to be excessive at all. We definitely plan to come back but hopefully the management staff can find a better way to approach time limits and how to handle customers if that is an issue. read more

The host was such a dick. We went to stowaway twice this weekend while visiting denver and on the first time we got there at 1pm when they closed at 2 and he made it very obvious that he didn't want to seat us by saying things like "well we close at 2... I guess we could serve you really fast". We left because we felt very unwanted. We came back the next day to try and get a gift card for a friend we were staying with. Once again the same make host rudely dismissed us by saying they had gift cards online while he was still putting away supplies and barely paying attention to us. What has happened to customer service? And then after standing there for a second to decide what to do about the online gift card he asked us if we were going to buy anything because once again it was obvious he wanted us to leave. The menu also looked unappealing and pretentious but that's just my opinion. Would recommend this place if you want to be treated like shit and have an unpleasant experience. Vibe: conveniently located in RiNo to grab some food in a spot where theres a bunch to do, or a meal before you go day drink. I havent been inside since pre-COVID but it was quaint, well lit and cozy. Well decorated and just a cool place to check out. Food: I've had a few different things off their menu but personal favorite is the japanese asa-gohan. Eggs, salmon, rice. Its phenomenal, flavorful and different than your typical brunch go to foods. Their other foods are also different and fun, would love to try more. Also they offer some good coffee from good local roasters, a big plus for me. Honestly was really disappointed with what we came into... the menu is very limited and just not what we expected after looking on Yelp the food looked good. But this is not good. I feel like we're eating bird food and rabbit food. We also asked for dirty iced chai's and whatever we got is not chai. It does have spices but this must be some organic bs. The mocha was disgusting. They work up the donuts and they really aren't good. Aren't like a donut at all, weird texture and taste so weird. Scram breakfast sandwich + avocado. Easily the best breakfast sandwich in the whole wide world. I take all my friends here and hype it up and it still lives up to expectations every single time. One friend took his first bite, set the sandwich back down, and applauded. The other menu items are also delicious but nothing is as amazing as the scram sandwich. Just do it! I'm serious. It's more mind-blowingly awesome than Eggslut and the wait for a table is never more than 15-20 minutes. The coffee side of things is a little rough, or at least I had a suboptimal experience. I ordered a cashew milk mocha and got a latte instead. I was planning on just drinking it and not saying anything, but it was super acidic and really just not good. I asked for some simple syrup to try and fix it, and they were kind enough to offer to remake my mocha since the latte was already cold. The mocha ended up being made with regular milk and was pretty meh. I also got it at the end of my meal and didn't really want it at that point. They offered half off for the drink, but I probably wouldn't get a coffee next time I'm here. They do have some more unique fruit juices that are yum! Unless you really need the coffee for the caffeine, I'd save the latte splurge for another spot. read more

Brightly lit, airy, sparsely but pleasantly designed, we spent a few days in Denver in an apartment next door and ended up coming here for breakfast every morning. - the egg sandwich -- savory but a bit sweet, on a fluffy and nicely toasted brioche. I would've thought an egg sandwich wouldn't be something to write a review about but then I had a few other egg sandwiches. This was excellent. - the porridge -- delicious, simple, with orange zest to give it a nice twist - the colorful colorado -- a plate of poached eggs and hash, with surprising asparagus and adobo sauce and pickled radish. I tried it without any meat, just avocados. Couldn't have been better. We had a few other things too. Thumbs up. Coffee & tea of course were nice, and the tea comes with cute little timer glasses (I'd say hourglasses but are they really hourglasses if they're timed for three or five or seven minutes?) to time your steepage. Offered me a single seat at the communal table and politely asked if I was okay with another diner sitting adjacent to me when another solo diner arrived (Covid precautions).
