I used to love this place for the fish and chips but, the preparation and cooking has become inconsistent. 50% of the time the fish and chips is over done and dry. Or it has been on the raw side of taste. read more

The strap tank Harley on exhibit was the best thing about the place. I could have done without the scooter trash attitude displayed by the bartender though, in fact I nearly left. He felt the need to reseat us without so much as including please or I'm sorry in his request. His phrasing was rude at best and insulting for sure with a dash of "don't make me bust your head" in his attitude. I don't think I'll bother going back even though the hostess and waitress were nice enough. Let's talk about ambiance. The exterior is a pleasing example of masonry. It did nothing to prepare me for the decor inside. I found the interior to be little better than a hobo camp in an abandoned industrial site. Maybe that was the intent? I don't know, but after the bartender's greeting it felt disturbingly dark. The beer I selected was called red devil I think. It was a fairly nice brew, and exhibited the caramel overtones described on the menu. It at least was not disappointing. read more

This place is very cool. I knocked off a star for the long wait and mediocre server experience. Now to get to the meat of this review.. I assumed when I arrived I was going to their sister restaurant across the street (thanks google maps. You suck!) and when I got here there was about a 15min wait only to find out when looking at the menu that I wasn't at the breakfast location. Still confused, I asked the server about the Dutchbaby and idk he was clueless when I started to describe any of the menu items I was interested in, he just said "uh nope". But the place only serves lunch and dinners and I'm clearly describing breakfast. You think maybe they would have put the two and two together that I meant to be at the sister company across the street?? Nope..not here. I mean you do work here right?? I looked over the menu and I just couldn't eat their food so after putting in my order for drinks, I finally figured it out (thanks Yelp) and I told the busser who knew why I was confused as he knew the menu across the road and was very understanding. So yeah I took off. They comped the milk I ordered and I paid for my fiancé's root beer he drank (I hadn't touched my milk - too busy trying to find out what the heck was going on lol). Very polite busboy who helped me get my tab taken care of. When I walked into the sister spot across the road (see review) I witnessed a couple who were looking for this place so clearly the directions to get to the place is just weird. Whatever, I was hungry and it said I arrived LOL. Sadly the food I had across the road made me wish I would have taken a chance here lol lesson learned. read more

If you like good food this ISN'T the place! I'm not sure if people in Utah just have really bland pallets and give places good ratings or if my pallet is slightly more sophisticated and I have higher expectations. Either way this place is super deceiving! That's why I'm not posting any pictures. The food looks fresh for most of the ones people post and for the high prices you think you are getting something good. Don't be fooled like we were! To really label this meal as one of the worse dinning experiences we've had for awhile we ordered the Buffalo wings to start. We were really excited bc they looked really good when they came out. First bite actually had flavor so we thought we were off to a good start. They were dry and you got to dip them in a doctored up Franks Red Hot Sauce. Which was fine. But by the second bite we noticed that purplish reddish inside to chicken that doesn't seemed cooked all the way and then THEN we realized they were still FROZEN on the inside!!! Like bone chillin freeing! So we told the server (and he felt them and confirmed they were still frozen). He took them back and said he would bring us out new ones. As far as the rest of our meal went when we got it, to get to the main point- this place lacks flavor in every dish we got. Fish & Chips, Bacon Burger, and Hawaiian Pizza. Maybe if they had actually salted their food that might have brought out some kind of flavor but there wasn't even salt. On anything!!! The fish & chips came with fries that were soggy making the fish breading soggy. Which was really unfortunate bc they were nice pieces of fish. They would have tasted as good as they looked had the fish been salted and tasted like fish. The burger was dry and was gray and barely warm with a crumbly bun that wasn't homemade. Or had flavored meat. It was so dry it was unediblw. The side salad was limp and with Walmart croutons. Nor was their any condiments on it or brought out for it. The pizza had that cheap rubbery cheese that sat on top of the toppings making it damn near impossible to even pick up bc it was too heavy of a slice or even eat without a fork & knife! Not long after we got our main meals the wings came back out. Not a new order but the couple that we had left on the plate!!! All the server did was throw them back in the fryer. Never mind that this made them way over cooked and dried out now but HELLOOOO- can you say HEALTH CODE VIOLATION???!!!?? After that move it made us all leery of the rest of the food we were trying to eat despite the lack of flavor! And the server didn't even take the item off our bill! So unfortunate for him on that bc that really ruined my desire to tip him well. Having to send something back like that it should not have been on our bill. Any how- 2 stars only for the deception because the pictures make you THINK you are getting decent food. Oh, and the place looks hip and trendy. Never mind that we were never offered the brewery menu so have no clue how that would have been. Biggest advise to those who have taste buds- eat somewhere else!!! read more

AWESOME PLACE! If your heading to or from SLC on 15 this place is a must stop. Big truck parking at walmart. The atmosphere here is upbeat beat cant help but put a smile on your face. Servers are enthusiastic and friendly. The portions of the appetizers are great 2 appetizers and you could call it a meal. They have 12 craft beers on tap. Note to management: flights would be perfect. With so many interesting flavors to choose from it is difficult. Ape hanger did not disappoint. Full of body. Coconut shrimp was HUGE so juicy crispy cooked perfectly Rib eye ordered med. Thin strip of pink centered in the middle. AMAZING flavor seared perfect for maximum juicy flavor. If you miss out on this place, you really missed out. Definitely will not be the last time we show up here. read more

Came here for lunch. This place has a great vibe inside - Its homey and inviting. The beers were great. You can get all different sizes ranging from little samples for 75 cents to giant jugs for $17. Our server was friendly and gave us good recommendations on food and drinks. All the food was decent but not the best. The onion rings were my favorite part. read more

What happened? (sigh)... I used to have business partners fly in from out of state just to get the spice-rubbed chicken wings. Did the rub recipe change? All heat and no flavor . I actually bought some rub last year so I was able to compare -- who made that decision to change the recipe? And the wings themselves seemed.. loose, over-breaded, fatty. Sadly, until you go back to your old supplier I will probably stay away. We also got the tacos. Used to be one of my favorite restaurant meals. On the bright side, they got bigger. But the steak was chewy and hard to swallow. Was it Covid? Inflation? Global warming? Whatever the reason, it's a sad day. Stark Tank used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Sad demise. As a longtime regular patron...to the tune of 5-7 nights a week, for over a year, the current Strap Tank is a mere shadow of its former, glorious self. The days of exceptional service, friendly staff, amazing food and a plethora of unbelievable brews appears to be in the rear view mirror. The service is substandard at best. The staff is unwelcoming, slow and disengaged. The food is inconsistent...flavors, presentation, preparation and temperatures. The brew options are narrow and underwhelming. While I spent a thousands of dollars and literally hundreds of hours determining Strap Tank was a legitimate establishment, it's taken a few hundred dollars and a few hours to determine that I will no longer be patronizing the establishment...until such time that the glory days return. Wishing the best to Rick and Vickie that they can return a once amazing locale to what so many loved. read more

I enjoy Strap Tank. The food quality has improved from when it first opened. The menu has plenty of variety, the service has been solid. It's a little loud, but it's meant to be so don't go if you're wanting a quiet dining experience. Happened to be there once with a live band performing and enjoyed that experience too. read more

So I don't drink, so this review is based off the food, not the beers. The food was good, fine. My buffalo chicken sandwich had no buffalo sauce, but the chicken and bun were very good. The steak nachos were good, and good sized portion. The southwest burger, likewise, was fine. The fries were excellent, and the fry sauce was as well! That's actually why I came, to try the fries because a coworker suggested it. The service was also good. I honestly would not come back, I think I could get similar quality food at a better price at a chain, and I don't mind chains. However, I think if you're looking for a local place that's not a chain, that has a good atmosphere, live music and good service, and don't mind paying for it, this place is great for that. read more

The salmon wasn't bad but a little on the dry side and the crust is a little more hard than I wanted. But the flavor was pretty good. The rice pilaf should be called butter rice though. That's all I tasted - butter. I would say the same thing about the green beans which were so drenched in butter and a bit wilted. My wife's steak was way overcooked so that was disappointing too. Our sweet potato fries were scorched to the point of almost burned. But they were nice to take it back and do some new ones not so overcooked which were better. Service was friendly and I like the decor. Not terrible just kind of lackluster food experience overall. Prices are too high for what you get. read more

After 20 minutes, I went inside and she told me it would be about 5 minutes longer. When I asked about the 5 open tables, she said the patio was closed. When I asked her why we weren't told, I was rudely told that she had no obligation to tell me. I was appalled.
