Straw Hat has by far some of the best pizza in Hayward. Does not have an over corporated taste like Round Table or Domino's. I strongly recommend The Hayward, teriyaki wings, and green bean crispers with thousand island. Sonia makes the best pizzas around, she could run that place all by herself. Not to mention the beautiful smile you get every time you're there, she really enjoys her job and her place. The revolving taps are outstanding, full of craft beers and domestics.. They always hit the spot. Her tap lines are extremely clean. Sports and UFC are always going. Having moved from the peninsula, I'm so glad to find a spot that I an call a home to come eat at. I had no idea Straw Hat Pizza was this good. Granted that their prices are a tad bit inflated, but their pizza makes up for it. The crust was perfect and not oily! I could taste and see the quality of the cheese and toppings! We got the all meat pizza, and i'm not a big fan of sausage and ground beef on my pizza but i'd order that pizza again. plus they have really good coupons! I like their pizza and wings. I've been here twice, the first time was really good. I had Hawaiian and BBQ chicken pizza except I didn't know Hawaiian had BBQ sauce on it. At this location apparently it does! I docked a star because it's not super amazingly delicious that I would die. It's very close to home and the manager here is a very cool guy! Came here last night for the GOLOVKIN fight. SUPER PACKED PLACE! I was expecting the vibe to be mediocre and kind of hospital-y. It was not! It was awesome. They had a pretty good selection of beer. Went to go watch the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers Playoff game today. I give the game 5 stars!!! However, I can't say the same for this Straw Hat Pizza place. Very disappointing with the service and my pizza. I ordered my usual half pepperoni and mushroom, half pepperoni and pineapple pizza. I wanted a pan pizza style crust. Pretty easy order. I received a regular crust half pepperoni only and the other half mushroom pineapple pizza. WOWW!!!!! Seriously????!!!!! Not even close... The service person was totally not paying attention at all during the order and just rang up whatever. You'd figure the person making the pizza would at least stop and make sure that it was a half mushroom pineapple pizza. I don't like to give 1 or 2 stars to any small businesses because I don't want to hurt them in any way shape or form. I feel other people would give a 1 star rating. I love this place and the potential is limitless, but.... We have been going here since it opened and this is our favorite local pizza place, clean, nice decor, big Plasmas for sports and good food. Our favorite is the pan pizza, but since we like to go there on Sunday nights, they are always out of pan pizza crusts. Although I ordered a salad from Straw Hat Pizza's salad bar, it was a nice vegetable salad, but, it also would have been nice to have some fruit and potato salad within the salad. Ordered through Eat24 for a party. Too busy to leave so I ordered and it took 2+ hours. Not sure whose fault but ultimately disappointing. Also, "small" pizza's here are about the size of personal. Not worth $11 per pie. Will probably not order from/dine in here again. My house is roughly .5 miles away. Had I known, I would have driven there. To summarize, over priced Pizza Hut grade pizza.
