This place is good -- I think it's a touch below Dairy Belle in terms of quality but much much cheaper. They only offer window service with some benches outside. Very diverse menu -- salmon burgers, pastrami burgers, teriyaki chicken, etc. Seem to have something for everyone. I got a burger/fries/strawberry shake -- the food was good but the shake was a little watery...definitely not as good as Dairy Belle's. The area itself is a little undesirable but I didn't have any issues waiting for my order. You can also get a pretty good selection of hard/soft ice cream here too. Cecil's famous burgers is one of my favorite hamburger joints to go to. They have a huge selection of things on the menu from burgers to hot dogs to their awesome shakes (you need to try their chocolate shake with marshmallows or their blackberry shake) they have both soft serve milkshakes and soft serve ice cream. They have outdoor seating only. Their service is also very good with short wait times. There is always parking in the lot so I given this place a 10/10 all around read more

Amazing solid spot in Hayward! Definitely a staple around this side of Hayward. It's located off Tennyson in a plaza - good amount of parking. The area is kind of sketch with some homeless ppl around. I tried to order the regular cheeseburger but somehow the cashier rang me up for 1/4 lb burger. The service was not the best and it was hard to get my order across, didn't want to argue. We also tried the pastrami burger, fried okra, and onion rings. Loved the batter and texture of the fried okra and onion rings! We demolished this easily with their ranch. My husband enjoyed the pastrami burger, decent size (not too big or small). It came with just enough pastrami. I loved the 1/4 cheeseburger I got. A solid size and it had good amount of sauces. The burger was juicy and the bun was soft. Altogether the meal came out to $29. They are definitely nom & pops style food here & I appreciate it greatly as it's hard to find the non commercialized flavors. They are consistent & the food is deelish for sure. I've been here a few times ever since my boyfriend introduced me. Which means, it's good and I crave it often enough. That's good endorsement for a place. After a morning hike, I was craving something greasy and filling. My mind was gunning for pastrami and mustard, and why not on a cheeseburger? The pastrami is always so thin and crisp. I inhaled half of it before I thought to stop and take a photo. Don't worry, I exercised before so that means this just adds to the fuel for a workout. For some reason, the fries are an addiction to me! I never get burgers and fries. Maybe my boyfriend changed me, or maybe it was Cecil. I got my brother a chocolate malted milkshake too, it was really good. But all for him. In the past I've has the chili cheese fries, hot dog, and pastrami sandwich. All were great. Beware of the credit card charge! And beware the surrounding area, I wait in the car for food to be ready. You get what's there, it's an okay price for your portions. First time visiting Cecil's Burger, and it was an OK experience compared to my normal visit to 1/4lb Giant Burger. I ordered the Pastrami Burger with cheese, and was charged for cheese, but realized it was left off when I finally made it home to eat. My partner had the 1/2lb Biggie and he felt that it wasn't enough food even with the French Fries. It is definitely pricier than other non fast food chain burger joints we visit. I will only eat here when I'm craving a Pastrami Burger. Service was OK. Given this being my first time here, and getting there when no one else was in line, I was confused on what window to order or pickup. The order window was in front, street side, while pickup was on the parking lot side that I didn't even see a window! Signs would help! Added pics of the new menu as when I looked up this place prior to going and was confused when I arrived that it was all different. Was craving a burger, but didn't want to resort to fast food or the usual chain restaurants... and that's how I found Cecil's. Located off Tennyson St, this local shop is situated on the street side of a small plaza. There's a few tables to sit or stand while you eat. There wasn't anyone when I arrived so I was helped immediately. Took a short wait for my order since it seemed like there were other orders being filled first. No big deal. Though while I was waiting, I noticed they had a pile of precooked bacon on the flat top. Shortly later the cook grabbed a few slices and dunked them into the frying oil (for French fries etc.) before putting them on my burger... such a huge disappointment. It's not hard to make fresh bacon to order. Finally when I got my order, I was quite let down. The buns were thin, untoasted and flimsy. American cheese tasted like Kraft singles. The onions were small pieces and kept falling out after every other bite, like decide if you want diced onions or regular slices. Corn dogs tasted exactly like the foster farms ones from Costco. This review only gets two stars for the patty being somewhat decent. Maybe a decade ago this place would've been the go-to burger joint locally, being lower priced than the average competitors while still serving adequate sized portions. But in today's society, for over $10 there are better options. read more

This burger stall is right in front of the running streets so it's not hard to find. Cecil's Famous burgers seem to have exchanged a few hands in between and they now offer plenty of items outside of just burgers. My wife and I were craving for some burgers so here we are after seeing some photos of their food online. The atmosphere though is somewhat questionable as the surrounding area was filled with street walkers and homeless folks who's very apparent around this part of town. It is hard not to have to kind of "watch your back" when ordering or even waiting for your food. FYI, we waited for 15 minutes standing there for our food. We saw like 3 dudes in the stall and 1 female making the food, I wondered, did they just start the grill or something? It took so long because....? There was one order from another party that came before us so that shouldn't be the case.....right? I mean they got 4 people working there? We decided to take the food home instead. I have gotten their Double Bulky Bacon Cheese Burger combo & my wife their Ribeye steak sandwich combo. The overall taste of the food is decent, nothing special which I was a tad bit disappointed. I was expecting it to be a local favorite but I didn't find that. Cecil is probably long gone from this joint. What we have here is just a burger stall that sells teriyaki and other random stuff in addition to burgers. If I have to guess, it is most likely due to the changing ownership of the place over the years. This spot will be another burger joint I consider in the future but it won't be a must have if you want an opinion from a local. I use to live up the street and would come here often, but now I drive 20-30 minutes when I crave them. Finally had the chance to check this place out. We've been driving by here since we moved down the street and it's always popping. Went on a Thursday night around 8ish and it was quiet. We were able to find parking. There were only 2 folks waiting before us. We were immediately greeted by a friendly face in the counter and was very attentive as we placed our order. I got a regular cheeseburger, my boyfriend got the double bacon cheese burger and we shared a corn dog and chili fries. And then added a banana milkshake. Our food was ready after 10ish mins and we took it home. Everything we ordered was soooo yummy! The chili fries need a bit of salt but still tasty. This place is solid. Sometimes you just want a simple quality burger without all the extra frills. I get either a Super or Cecil Burger with everything on it. Haven't seen many places that include Bacon as part of the "everything"- love to see it though. They have delicious potato fries to add on. Which is a must if you're enjoying a burger! Don't sleep on their corn dogs either. The batter is well-seasoned and has a nice crunch to it. Pleasantly surprised at how good it is. They don't use a delivery service but you can call in. Had an opportunity to try Cecil's for the first time and unfortunately it was probably the last. I ordered 2 items with a side of fries: 1/2 lb double bulky bacon cheese burger, spicy chicken burger. The bacon cheese burger was alright, however the bacon was very undercooked. This very much might be me, but when bacon can bend/move/twist more than a shoelace, it's a bit of a red flag. The chicken burger was the exact opposite, overcooked with a rock solid crust and dry chicken in the middle. Not even the lettuce or mayo that it came with could cover it up. Fries were essentially as advertised and were in a generous potion. They did lack salt which is a positive or negagtive depending on taste. Wife had gotten Filipino food somewhere else instead.
