Workers are always friendly and the food is always amazing for its value. I always recommend this place to people and appreciate the speedy service. Glad to have such a nice spot in this city. There's room to eat inside if you wish. Would definitely come back whenever I'm in need of a slice!

I've known of A-town Pizza for a looooong time. I don't know why we never went here because you shouldn't judge a store by its storefront. L O C A T I O N On Whipple in a small plaza with Amy's Donuts. They have a parking lot that's shared with all the businesses here. Easily found parking directly in front. I N S I D E There's not much space inside like it's like a few steps from the door to the desk. I peeked in and there's a small table that may seat two people. So make sure you're coming here to just grab and go. M E N U The have pizza as well as some appetizers, desserts, calzones, salads, sub sandwiches, pastas, and soft drinks. For pizza, pricing is basically the same as doing custom toppings so if there's some items on a specialty pizza that you don't want, just build your own pizza. Though the one thing I did notice was that there was no choice on the sauce but I'm sure you can ask. If you do go online to order, it's nice you can split toppings to different halves of the pizza. Also the prices of the pizza was cheaper than another place we were looking at. We got a Party Size - 20" pizza with mushrooms and tomatoes all over the pizza, on one half - ground beef, ham, and pineapple and the other half - chicken, zucchini and (red) onions. It's not stated on the toppings list that it's red onions which I'm glad we ended up only putting it on one side as my stomach doesn't handle red onions (specifically) well. The pizza was a bit soggy in the middle but crisp on the outside which I'm not mad at. I just folded it over as it's large anyways and it was a nice contrast to the crisp outside. The pizza had a thin crust, love. The outer crust not super bready. The marinara sauce was full of flavor and the ground beef tasted like it was seasoned which was a nice touch. S E R V I C E I called in my order which I ended up using the phone number on their website which is (510) 471-7677. Yelp has a different number but if you try to edit it, it's locked and with the right number...quite weird. The person who picked up the phone was very kind and patient as I was trying to give specific half and half and full toppings. Everything was right on the order and we paid easily when we came. We were told 20 minutes and we came around that time and the pizza was just coming out. Perfect. O V E R A L L In retrospect, we didn't need a party size but now we know. Crisp crust with fresh flavorful toppings. Great service and looking forward to trying out more of their toppings and smaller sized pizza. Definitely glad we finally tried this place out and nice to have another option in the area.

Had a great experience here! We ordered half-half of Hawaiian and Garlic Supreme. The food was excellent, you can really taste the freshness of the dough and ingredients. Everything was made fresh, and the service was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!

Fire....found this place on Ubereats because I was looking for a nearby pizza place for dinner. So glad we did, this pizza was just what we needed and more. Ordered the all meat medium pizza for 2 people and it was more than enough. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the amount of sauce was perfect. The crust was light and buttery and the slices were light and addicting. Definitely want to try other flavors like the garlic supreme. It may be one of my top places in the area.

My order was placed through Grubhub so I cannot comment on the service. Based on what I've read here, it sounds like great people in that regard. But I don't understand the high ratings on the food! Our calzone was wet and soggy on the bottom- don't understand what that was, it completely fell apart! And the pizza was ok, it was very dry, hardly had any sauce, the cheese did not pull and get stringy at all like real cheese does. So I'm left to wonder why the rave reviews and honestly it was barely average. The clincher for me was I ordered artichoke hearts as a topping. What I got was best described as an artichoke leaf (see pic). Please don't advertise artichoke hearts and give the customer a leaf! That made it a NO for me.

HEADLINE If I'm going to spend $60 on 2 x med pizza and garlic twist, I might as well go to Round Table or Mountain Mikes. THE GOOD - The Pesto Chicken Pizza (4.25/5) - - was surprisingly good. I'm a sucker for some sun dried tomatoes. - The crust had nice texture to it (but lacked the flavor to back it up) THE BAD - Garlic Twist (3.5/5) were good but they only had garlic and cheese spread halfway. The other half were just bread. - - was served upside down and had some foil stuck in it. - All the boxes had some flour on the exterior - - Not sure if purposely done or to give it some personality (?) THE UGLY - The Hawaiian (1.5/5) was not enjoyable at all. - - Feel like it was in the oven just long enough to melt the cheese and that's it. Needed more time for the cheese to brown a little, the pineapple to caramelize and the flavors to develop. - - The day after I threw it in the oven and let those flavors develop and it was much better, but honestly I'd take a Little Caesars Hawaiian over it.

I love how you can order by the slice and look how huge and generous they are about it! One slice looks like two! The service here is incredible, they're so quick and friendly. The pizza tastes like it's made with love. I order the gourmet veggie slice and it's my absolute favorite. They have so many items on their menu! I highly recommend it here. Been coming here for decades.

**COVID REVIEW** I was a little skeptical about trying this place because of the location and the reviews, but still wanted to give it a try. It's a small shop that also sells ice cream! We ordered a small half & half (Combination & Hawaiian) and it took about 15 minutes to be ready. If I recall correctly, it was about $17. The pizza was good, the crust was thin and there was extra pineapples without extra charge.

Best pizza in Union City. Hands down! Delicious, fresh toppings and the perfect crust. Only a couple of tables here, so it's mainly take out. I usually get the combination pizza. I've also tried their Greek salad, which is huge and delicious. read more

Decent, overall pretty decent pizza. This always used to be the "get a slice" spot. Recently went & picked up a ham/pineapple slice. Was decent, the crust / dough isn't terrible (but it isn't the best I've ever had) so hence why I vote 3 stars. The guys here are always friendly & great service. read more

There are days when we just want something quick and cheap so we get it from places around the corner who can have it ready in 15 minutes and satisfy your craving. How do you screw up a pizza? Soggy/oily crust, not enough sauce, toppings, cheese. So when we want something we can truly enjoy, we go to A-town. Always fresh ingredients and they always get the crust just the way I like it. There were a few years when we almost forgot about them, but lucky for us, they survived the pandemic (unlike most places we frequented... RIP). We have strayed and have been lured by the next new pizza place that pops up, but we'll always come back to A-town. And honestly, they don't cost much more than your typical pizza chain. read more

Very disappointed with this place. I'm a long time customer of over 10 years. I drive all the way from Tracy, CA for their pizzas as they are amazing and the owner is an amazing human being but not sure if it's under new ownership or new employees but I stopped by today for pizzas and when I got home to eat, the pizzas were overcooked and did not have any pizza sauce. I understand mistakes happen but when I tried to dispute it, the restaurant blatantly lied and refused to take any type of ownership of the issue. I was taken aback with the audacity to lie and refusing to provide any type of compensation or anything of that nature. I had very fond memories of this restaurant and even sent them business on several occasions whenever I had events at work. I always sent them business as I appreciated the food but more than that, their hospitality and integrity. I hope deep down that this is just a one off incident and just an employee having a bad day but I am done with this business. I wish nothing but the best for them but me, my family and friends are going to take our business to somewhere that has integrity and better customer service. read more

Highly recommended! I ordered (4) of their largest size pizzas and I was not disappointed. The entire staff was very welcoming, top tier customer service. Keep doing what you guys do, A-Town. I will be back for more. If you're craving ice cream, they also serve an assortment of flavors. read more

The single slices are huge and the customer service is awesome. This is a small whole in the wall pizza place but its delicious. Its family owned and they are really nice! Like my daughter said its a big giant pizza slice! read more

I've been looking for a good pizza spot for a while now and saw this place on DoorDash. Ordered a large 3 topping pizza and it was really good. Fresh ingredients, good portions, good prices, and overall tasty. The service is good. They followed my specific instructions and the pizza came out quickly. This is based solely off customer service with the ice cream. I have enjoed their pizza and prices in the past. Perhaps there are new owners. In any case my mom went in to get a couple scoops of ice cream and was quoted a price of $2 per scoop. She came outside to tell me that she thought it was too expensive and I told her to go ahead and get it. As I was parked directly in front of the business, I could see the price from outside. As I was entering, he was giving my mom her change. I asked her how much he charged her. She handed me $1.50. I looked at him and he said the sign says 2 scoops for $3. He looked up at sign as if he didn't know what the price should be, or that it was wrong. Then he said, plus tax and I gave her a little more. Well our tax rate would not make the cost $3.50. He overcharged her and then lied about giving her a little extra. Hopefully the picture is clear enough. Shame on him. Needless to say, we won't patronize this place again. read more

Ordered from A-town as a last minute quick dinner. Ordered a party-sized pepperoni pizza, and I can confidentially say it's the best pizza I have had in a while. The crust wasn't too thick and it was light and airy with the right amount of crisp. Everything on top was great as well. Will definitely be ordering with them again. read more

Great pizza! The pizza meets the expectation and is A+ with soft but crispy outer crust, sweet tangy sauce, fresh cheese and any toppings you like. You can hold a slice in your hand without it folding over as you should. The Greek sale and tiramisu are also specialties. Orders are quick and easy. It's also cheaper for delivery using their slice app and their own drivers instead of a service. Not sure about the on-sight dining. read more

I actually hunted this place down. A friend told me about it a while ago. Then a family member told me she gets her hubby to grab her a slice (or two) at least one a week. Her hubby told me he and his co-workers grub on this pizza at least weekly. I get there and truth be told (and yes, I was told), the outside lot is not much to look at. But that's not going to stop me from a good slice of pizza. So in I go and it's clean, smell fantastic and the guy promptly greets me "hey". Small place. Really a place for pick-up or a tailgate. Lots of options. Full pizza menu but I'm there for pizza-by-the-slice. Seven minutes later I have two HOT slices of Hawaiian. Freaking fantastic. Simple but tasty. Good dough. Fresh toppings. I'm good. Second visit I bring the teenagers. Boys, 14 and 17. One gets olive and sausage on his slices. The other Hawaiian. We tailgate in the parking lot. Both were extremely satisfied and vote this is a repeat. Next time we're trying the ice cream they have as well. This time we were pretty full but we'll be back! read more

Great pizza.. delicious.. take it to go as there is not much seating.. service is fast, so just call ahead. It's a place where you want to pick up your pizza but you don't necessarily want to hang out. Nothing to do there like a traditional pizza joint with games for the kids. read more

Ordered a small pizza via Yelp and was happy it came faster than expected. I ordered a small 12" all-meat pizza and mozzarella sticks. The pizza was delicious: hot, crispy crust and large enough for 2-3 people to share. The mozzarella sticks weren't my favorites. The breading wasn't breadcrumbs but something different so the flavor just wasn't there. I ended up peeling the outer part off to eat the cheese *shrug* Other than that little hiccup, would recommend this pizza! Super delicious! read more

Pizza is soft and floppy. Good amount of toppings. Mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers are oven baked and not crispy at all. Could only stomach a couple bites, definitely skip those. read more

Ill order here over local domino's/ pizza huts any day . Great red sauce . The chicken garlic pizza is solid too . The wings are very ordinary & need to be cooked longer, but thats personally speaking. They even forgot to make my pizza all together once , but it was a one off deal - no grudges here lol read more

Easy to dismiss since it's in a strip mall but give it a chance like I did for their garlic chicken and garlic supreme thin crusts (with extra garlic!) Have been here for pies for several years and it helps to satisfy the craving when NY is just not doable (though Goldbelly has helped recently). I usually get a larger size so that there are leftovers to enjoy. Calling ahead to pick up in about 15-20 minutes makes it super easy. read more

But don't think there are multiple locations...yet. Upon receiving my sandwiches, it was wrapped in a paper with their company logo, and from a quick glance it is super similar to the Jersey Mikes logo in terms of color, so it has a real familiar vibe. No hate just an observation. This used to be another restaurant (maybe even several) on the edge of an industrial zone/business park, but also not too far from several shopping strips. There's spacious seating inside, but in the later afternoon when I went, nobody was eating in. But quite a few take-out and third party pick-ups. I even saw a poster showcasing their catering aspect for common work lunches on the company dime. Good for them. Niles Canyon ($14.50/4*) I opted to up this to their combo meal which includes a bag of chips and a soda for another $5. So this was easily a $20 lunch meal without tipping yet. Pricey yes, but not because they are pricier than most, but that is just the going rate for eating a meal outside these days. $15 - $20 per person are common and anything under $15 is now considered cheap eats and getting harder to run into. This sandwich had slightly warmed up deli turkey that when stacked with the swiss cheese slices, kinda softened the cheese. It wasn't ooey gooey but the cheese wasn't firm and cold either. There was another layer of prosciutto as well which wasn't too noticeable but did add another dimension. I chose to go with the full produce choice, as I love the freshness of veggies to go with meat sandwiches. There was also a layer of fresh avo slices which lent a creamy richness to the bites. I tried one of their sliced breads to go for this sandwich, as I tried a sourdough roll for another sandwich that I got to-go for my work lunch the next day. That way I got to sample their bread offerings. Their sliced marbled rye bread is thick sliced, very soft and moist with a good bread chew. They use a good bread supplier for sure. On top of mayo and mustard which is common, they also put their Bomb Sauce which seems like a garlic-y spread of sorts. I can definitely smell it, but the taste isn't overly strong. I'd say super similar to Mr Pickles. Prosciutto Sandwich ($13/4*) This was an all-cold traditional sandwich. I took a couple of bites there to see how it was fresh from the counter, and I ate the rest the next day at work. I gotta say I liked it better the next day as all the flavors melded more together. Even tho the veggies get a bit mushier, I've always liked a well dressed salad sensation in sandwiches, kinda like a Muffeletta sandwich where it is refrigerated overnight, meant to be eaten the next day. Their prosciutto isn't the old school imported version, or at least I've never had one quite like it. I'm assuming a domestic version, even seemed more like cappicola to me as I sensed a tinge of fennel up in there. So pretty satisfied with my first visit. I'll definitely get sandwiches here again for work or day trip lunches. Pretty much on the same level as Togo's or Mr. Pickles, but just more local. With sandwich names as The Quarry Lakes, The Decoto and The Dumbarton, just pulls on my local lovin' heartstrings. Props.

My wife, who is visibly 8 months pregnant, actually walked the burrito back into the restaurant just to show her the gristle. Because the lady said to bring it back show her. Instead of making it right or offering a simple switch for a chicken burrito like my wife had asked, she completely lacked empathy and flat-out said, "I can't remake your burrito." I called back to ask what could be done to fix this, and she started telling me to stop yelling at her. I wasn't yelling at all, my other baby was screaming in the background because my wife left the house to try and get the food fixed. She then hung up the phone on me. Apparently, she told my wife she even consulted her husband before refusing to fix it. I came in with high expectations based on the strong Yelp rating, but my experience didn't quite match the hype. For value, I found options like Costco or Whole Foods pizza to be more consistent. We had such a great experience at A-Town Pizza! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious -- we ordered a cheese pizza and a calzone, and my kids loved every bite. The crust was perfectly cooked, the flavors were spot on, and everything tasted so fresh. A Town Pizza is hands down one of the best pizza spots around! The pizza is always fresh, delicious, and they have an amazing variety of options to choose from. What really makes this place special though is the owner and staff -- they're incredibly friendly, welcoming, and truly brighten your day every time you walk in. this is the best pizza placw in town.. i mean i have tried so many pizas but this is the best between all of them.. and this is the best.. trust me.. also, the people working there are so nice. no matter what u want on ur pizza theyll do it for u.. and plus, the prices are not that expensive.. i just love it :) read more

A town Pizza is the best pizza place in town! The food is delicious and the workers there are always happy and polite. The delivery guy is super quick and he's really nice!The pizza there is so good! Everything is fresh and i'm sure once you eat there you'll always come back for more! read more

Work near by here. It's our go to for work occasions. They are very accommodating with very big pizzas. Better than regular pizza chain places. read more
