Eat there on June 5th. Food was greasy and hostess had a terrible attitude when I pushed back on being seated next to the kitchen door (despite the restaurant being 80% empty). My husband and I decided to come try this place out after a long night from a concert left us ravished in the morning. I heard about this place first from DoorDash when they first opened and tried them out. The portion sizes were amazing as well as the flavor and presentation. However today when we had come in for breakfast we were sat down and left without being asked for our drinks. The people sitting next to us said they were asked immediately, however they were displeased with the food. We still decided to follow through and give it a chance. We were given a table in the middle with uncomfortable chairs when many booths were available so I was displeased. After waiting for some time a lady who was not our server and told us this went ahead and took our order so we weren't waiting anymore. She had a very good personality and she was very friendly. I ordered the breakfast skillet and a banana foster waffle to split with my husband. He ordered the sausage gravy breakfast bowl with his eggs on the side. We didn't wait too long for our food. It was very tasty, very well seasoned however my bacon was way too hard and my avacado was actually guacamole and it was slightly brown. The host did not have a good attitude. Strawberry Breakfast House is such a nice place in Greensboro to have and centrally located. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were huge, definitely enough to share. I went with my mom as an early mother's Day treat. We really appreciated Ashley, our server she went out of her way and checked on us frequently. Her recommendation is Shrimp and Grits. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the menu options featuring breakfast, lunch and brunch favorites makes it difficult to chose. We went with the ham Croque with tater tots and the Angelina Crepe. Both I recommend and would get again. I do look forward to trying the Benedicts and banana foster options. Don't let the location fool you...Strawberry Breakfast House needs to be on the map! If you haven't been yet, GO. I was so pleasantly surprised by the overall experience! The vibe is a low-key diner with friendly staff and quick service. They do have limited outdoor seating on the sidewalk portion in front of the building too! The food was actually incredible!! Like fresh and flavorful and simply delicious. Their portions are huge - so we ended up splitting both a savory and sweet dish to share. Both were so good we couldn't stop eating! Not to mention we went to order a mimosa glass - but then found out they offer mimosas by the PITCHER. How could you go wrong with amazing food, good vibes, and a pitcher of mimosas!? I was excited to come and finally try this place and boy, I was not disappointed. Everything from the hot coffee, to the service, to the unbelievably delicious cheesy grits, was AMAZING. I ordered the 2 pancake, 2 eggs and 2 bacon. I added chocolate chips and fresh strawberries to my pancakes. And added American cheese to my eggs. The bacon was nice and crispy. Unbelievable. My friend order 1 Belgium waffle, 2 eggs and 4 bacon. She added onions and peppers to her eggs and they looked wonderful. She got some cinnamon on the side and added that on top of her waffle and she said it was great! I also tried the grits which came in a a really good sized bowl completely full! The cheesy grits usually come with shredded cheddar but we requested American. Definitely creamy and cheesy and tasty. The coffee was also wonderful. And the service was stand out. Attended brunch with fellow veterans here. This place has been mentioned by fam & friends, so I wanted to see what this place was about. The location was busy receiving both carry out orders and seating diners when our group arrived. This is my first visit but appears to be a popular place. It was about 8-10 minutes of a wait to be seated with our entire group. The staff put a couple of tables together for our group of 7. The staff seated us and allowed us time to decide on food. Our waitress kindly accommodated the many orders & requests of each member. Even one of our members who arrived a few minutes after being seated. The dining area is a bit smaller, so moving around could feel a bit tight and crowded. The food was hot, served within a reasonable time despite every table being filled. The bathroom was located in the rear and appeared tidy during my visit. I ordered a simple breakfast of eggs, grits, bacon & toast. The grits were yellow stone ground and were slightly sweet to me. The bacon was cooked perfectly. Eggs were scrambled and I added cheese. Just enough cheese to my liking. The portions received were good. Not too much to feel like I'd be wasteful, because I was full rather quickly. The menu appeared to have most all the fixings you'd want for breakfast or brunch. I didn't scan the other side of the menu. I was focused on the breakfast menu. Rather you enjoy sweet or savory, there were options available. Arriving inside it was not busy but tables were not clean. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get a clean table. The hostess did not acknowledge us due to being on her cellphone and making a personal order for herself. Once we was seated we waited to put in our drink order. Our server name was Maria. Maria was attentive in the beginning and I will leave that there. The food arrived and looked very good. However my shrimp and grits was greasy and you could see the grease above the grits. (If you can blow up the photo you will see the grease around the bowl). I did not complain because I over heard one server say "Am I working alone?" And I did not want to risk sending my plate back and having to wait. The banana foster...only had about 4 good pieces of banana on it, in the picture you can count them. I really wanted to love Strawberry Breakfast, especially as a new breakfast/brunch spot in the area, but unfortunately my experiences fell short. First visit: The server lacked basic decorum and personality, to the point that the manager quickly sent another server to take over our table--which I and my companion greatly appreciated. I must add that my dining with an out of town bestie. Disappointingly, I must say that the food was underwhelming. I ordered the steak and eggs, and the steak was paper-thin and extremely tough. I chalked it up to opening kinks and decided to give the restaurant some grace. Second visit: Our server, Daisy, was an absolute gem--friendly, attentive, and a bright spot in the experience. This time I brought another bestie (local-lives in Winston). Unfortunately, the kitchen and service flow once again missed the mark. Guests who arrived after us were served before we were (red flag). Shamefully, I did not document the time as I was too engaged in conversation. After a considerable amount of time, my companion received her food, while I was told my order had been prepared incorrectly and sent back to the kitchen. When the manager (Theresa) came to the table, she remarked that when she realized it was me, her thought was, "Oh no...not again!" While my corrected order did come out quickly, upon Theresa's request, the food itself was still just okay. I ordered the pimento and bacon burger, and it didn't stand out. Theresa, you have been consistently kind during both visits, and I truly appreciate the extra effort you made to try to make things right. That said, I cannot confidently say I'll return. While people say the third time is the charm, I'm just not willing to risk bringing another one of my besties here and experiencing subpar service again. Was driving down Battleground and wanted to try a new spot to show some love too! Saw breakfast house and figured why not. So glad I did. The space is pretty open and plenty whether it's just tow of you or a party of 6-8. I love how the tables aren't smack upon each other and overall the columns because it's so open is easy on the ear. We were greeted by Maria after being sat within 3 minutes of sitting down. When I asked for recommendations she immediately asked, do you want Breakfast/Brunch or Lunch. I always love it when the staff has tried the food. Once I said breakfast, she walked me through different options and I landed on the Breakfast Sandwich and swapped out the potatoes for grits. Then I also added pancakes just to try. The sandwich was so good and glad she recommended it. It wasn't too much and just perfect if you don't have a huge appetite. I wasn't a fan of the pancake but I wouldn't go off my picky palate on that. Definitely try it for yourself. The wait was about 15 minutes - and honestly, no complaints at all. It moved quickly and was well worth it. I ordered the Special Combo with a Belgian waffle, two eggs, four pieces of bacon, and seasoned potatoes. Overall, the food was good. The wait wasn't too bad for a Saturday morning. (From what I've heard it can get pretty busy) I ordered something pretty simple: grits, eggs, sausage and I added bacon. I had them to cook it crispy and it was delicious. The grits had a different taste. I can't really describe it. Like watery and earthy. The sausage patties were huge and were a little spicy. I am similar to someone else where my rating was more like a 3.5 but rounding up to 4. We went on a weekend and it was pretty packed. There was a wait list and were told it would be about a 20-25 minute wait which it was. It was a really cold morning and they don't have much space inside for those waiting to be seated so had to stand outside in the cold for a while until space opened up. We didn't want to go sit in the car in case we were called because we were only a party of 2. The menu has a quite a bit of options which was nice. I saw they had pimento cheese so I asked for the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit but asked to use pimento cheese for the cheese. It was delicious! Highly recommend. The biscuit is served with potatoes and my husband got the hashbrowns with his meal. I did not care for the potatoes at all but my husband thought they tasted good so we switched. I got a decaf vanilla latte which I was excited about because a lot of breakfast places will just serve coffee. However, it was way too sweet for me; recommend asking for less sweet if you only like a little flavoring. The tables are pretty close together so there isn't a lot of space for people to move around. One of the employees was pushing around a cart of dirty plates to collect more dirty plates and kept passing by our booth several times. It is pretty standard for someone to need to come to pick up plates for a finished table but because the space was so small, the feeling of having dirty dishes come by you and your food multiple times, it made my experience a little less enjoyable. They have a ton of sweet and savory options on their menu, but I ordered their Strawberry Pancake Special that was advertised on an A-frame up at the front of the restaurant. The special was strawberry flavored pancakes with Nutella, strawberries, and a strawberry glaze. It was the perfect dish for anyone that loves a sweet breakfast. My husband and I went on a Sunday at around 11am. It was about a 20 minute wait for a table inside or no wait outside. We picked outside. Our server, Brittany, was speedy with a great attitude. The restaurant is very casual and family friendly with a ton of parking in the shopping center location. This place should be in everyone's regular Triad breakfast rotation! read more

The staff was welcoming, and the food came out quickly. Can't compare to the weekend experience, but it seems like they've improved service since the earlier days. The interior is open and bright, thanks to a full wall of windows that lets in a ton of natural light. Everything felt clean and well maintained. Where it fell short was the food. I ordered the salmon and avocado Benedict with grits. The English muffin wasn't toasted enough, leaving it soggy under the toppings. The salmon itself had good flavor but was chopped into tiny bits and overcooked. The chunky avocado spread was a win. The grits had the right texture but lacked seasoning or depth of flavor. If it weren't for the friendly staff and inviting interior, this probably would have landed at 3 stars. I'll consider coming back on a weekend to see how it holds up under a busier crowd, and maybe try something else on the menu. I added on a side of cheesy grits. I was really excited about the grits because they are my favorite but I was underwhelmed. They were more sweet than savory and I know many people enjoy that but it's not my favorite. I loved the pancakes-they were dense like waffles but still fluffy. The syrup was warm and tasty. The flavor was very fresh and tasted homemade. The next day I went for lunch and got the California Club Sandwich-the blackened chicken was well seasoned, the avocado was a nice addition, and the tomatoes and lettuce were extremely fresh. The fries were well seasoned and hot. The servers both time were amazing-Brittany and Essence. They were attentive, helpful with the menu, and kind. The second day I went, it was a party of 3 and we were quoted a 40 minute wait but it ended up being about 20. They called and let us know our table was ready. When we walked in, we were immediately escorted to our tables. We were told that there was a backup in the kitchen that caused a delay with our order. We were sat 2 minute later. I found this place via a post on VisitGreensboro instagram page. They opened 2 weeks ago, per the host. At 12:39pm, someone took our drink orders. We got 2 waters. Our waitress came with the waters and we placed our order at 12:41pm. The waitress didn't introduce herself, which is a personal pet peeve of mine. The food came at 12:49pm, which was very quick. The seasoned potatoes wasn't seasoned enough for me and they were cold. The bacon had mixed consistency with some pieces being crispy (as I like) while others being more soft/chewy. The pancakes were HUGE and the appropriate temperature. The eggs were average. My son enjoyed his food. The syrup came in this big pitcher, which was different. I thought it was like a coffee pot at first. We didn't finish our food and go to-go boxes. The waitress was fairly attentive, so no complaints there. I will say a big plus is that it's very affordable. The meal for my son and I was $20! I would return to try other options. They use clover as their payment processor. On the receipt, there is a QR code for to pay online versus going to the host stand. This is a nice plus. I will say they need a better system for estimating wait time and notifying when parties are ready. My wife, our baby, and I were seated right away for breakfast, but after that, we were completely ignored. About five minutes after we sat down, another group was seated near us. We continued waiting for someone to come to our table, but instead, a server went over to the group that arrived after us and took their order while no one had even acknowledged us. After sitting there for about 20 minutes without a server coming to our table, taking a drink order, or even letting us know someone would be with us shortly, we decided to get up and go somewhere else for breakfast. I understand restaurants can get busy, and I'm usually very patient, but watching a table that arrived after us receive service while my wife, our baby, and I were left sitting there without any acknowledgment was extremely frustrating. If you don't mind waiting and having to try to get someone's attention just to be served, this may be the place for you. Our waitress was new but very helpful and not afraid to seek answers if she didnt know something. The menu offers a great variety of breakfast and lunch options. They also serve mimosas and a few other mixed drinks. I opted for a skillet and my mom went had a hodge podge of things. She really wanted a small meal like a kids meal or a senior plate but they dont have a kids menu and we didn't see senior portions. If you order Waffle Sweet Fries just know that is a nice way to say sweet potato Waffle fries. My mom also had the potato cakes which didnt have the consistency one would expect they looked more like mash potatoes but she said the flavor was good and her coffee was good. My skillet was good. The presentation was a little different than I expected but the flavors were there. The avacado comes mashed on the side and not sliced. It was more like a guacamole but it was fresh and tasty but was cold. This restaurant is nice and quaint with booths on each side and tables in the middle. This business has been up and running for more than 2months and I'm not sure how. You would think with a line out the door and a 30+ minute wait to be seated it would be good right?! BASIC at most! The place was packed, BUT we noticed only half had food. So, as soon as the waitress came to the table we ordered. It took over an hour to recieve or food. Seemed like dishes were coming out one table at a time. Just when we contemplated leaving our food came out. The French toast was not giving brioche more like burnt toast. Surprisingly out of the three dishes my Mexican "skillet" on a plate was the better option. The grits was under cooked and had a weird flavor to it. Turns out they use chicken broth in the grits. My friend who ordered it is vegetarian, so she wasn't pleased. Several tables left more than half of their plates behind. They need more organization and experience here. A great, and new, breakfast option in the city. Has a nice atmosphere, and really fits Greensboro. The omelet was well made, and very fluffy -- not just a thrown-together diner omelet. The biscuits appeared to be, as promised, made in-house. Bacon was bacon-y, and the service was as kind and attentive as you'd expect and hope for (but not intrusive). The only missteps were the hash browns (they were weirdly watery on the lower layer, and kinda tasted like old oil) -- so if you really, really care about hash browns (and I don't, at all) you can factor that in, I suppose. And, oddly, the men's room door was locked the entire time I was there -- also not a major issue. I'll certainly be back, though, to try other items on the menu. With the Spring Garden and Smith St diners gone, there is a sudden fracture in the Greensboro breakfast diner firmament, which Strawberry Breakfast House heals nicely. The ordered 3 bacon egg n cheese biscuit, 1 waffle and 1 sausage egg n cheese biscuit. (This wasn't all for me.) The order was prepared within 10 minutes and I was on my way. First time visit. Guys, the menu looks like it would be so good. But I was so disappointed. The banana fosters pancakes were dry. And so dense. The eggs were cold, the potatoes were cold, all like it set out for a while after being cooked. We did wait about 20 minutes for our food, but I was hoping that was a good sign. Sadly, no. The biscuits were rock hard and the sausage gravy was, you guessed it, cold. And the bacon fell apart into tiny bits, but tasted, decent at best? I hate giving bad reviews, but I want them to improve. Cause $32 for bad food is not fair. Our waitress was friendly though, but never saw her once we got our food until we got the bill. Maybe it was an "off day" for them, but it's too expensive to give it another try for us. read more

I love that this new spot is in town and the location is perfect, much needed. It's cute inside and I love the decor. There are definitely a few points of improvement that if they can get a handle on, they could be a 5 star spot for me because the food is tasty and the prices are great. We came in on a Monday morning and the service was a little slow. Not the waitress' fault by any means, once she finally got to us she was great! I just think she had the whole place to herself. The kitchen mixed up a few things on our order, and they were out of a couple pretty key items. My friend LOVED their potatoes - they were super crisp and perfectly seasoned. *We were never served and left the restaurant- it was not busy - 1245pm Saturday* Very disappointing experience at Strawberry House in Greensboro. Front counter staff was unprofessional and more focused on chatting about lashes and "i'm leaving at 2:50 PM and "I cant wait to leave at 3, I have things to do" - also openly saying they don't want to be there etc.. not sure why the front hostess stand is a hangout; but it is and also a server station somehow? Party of 2 and we waited 21 minutes to be sat despite there being open tables - service was extremely slow, and our waitress did not acknowledge us however the party who sat after us ordered their drinks AND food before a server came to us (12 minutes at the table with no service) so we decided to go ahead and leave. When we told the front host to stand, they just said "OK" - I enjoy eating breakfast more than most, but unfortunately, we won't be returning! read more
