My partner and I are still dreaming about our dinner at your restaurant! Seriously, it was *incredible*. Everything was just perfect - the lighting was so romantic, the music set the mood perfectly, and the whole place felt super special. Our server (sorry, we totally blanked on their name!) was amazing - attentive but not intrusive, and their recommendations were spot on! Your restaurant is truly magical, and we're already planning our return trip here!

I don't give five star ratings. I start with 2.5 and add or subtract based on the experience. "Reservation Required" threw me off at first. However, after getting there I could understand why. Warmly greeted to a cozy dining experience with a cool ambiance. +.5. My chair felt a bit wobbly. -.5. We were taking selfie photos together but couldn't quite get the angle we wanted. A staff member very respectfully let us know that they were willing to take one for us. +.5. Since we had never been there before, our server went through the menu and let us know what the specials were. I still can't say the name of what I got the way she did. "Chicken pizza" is the best I can do. +5. Bread with dipping oil came out. The oil was lightly flavored background to a very tasty seasoning. Both were amazing! +.5. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli special and I ordered the "chicken pizza". Chicken pizza as I call it is a chicken breast tenderized and thinned out, cooked and then smothered in a red sauce with plenty of cheese melted on top. Oh so good! +.5 The dish comes with some pasta but server gladly noted to swap that out for some additional vegetables. Admittedly when my food came out, the swap had not been made. No hesitation, the server picked up the plate to take it back to the kitchen. As they went into the kitchen another server was bringing out the corrected plate. Mistakes happen. It is what you do with it that makes the difference. +.5. The vegetables were a blend of zucchini with some bell peppers. They were cooked to perfection in my opinion, tender with just a touch of crunch left in them. Simply but nicely seasoned. +.5. My wife's ravioli and sauce were flavorful. The lobster taste came through. Nicely done! +.5. For desert we had the chocolate hazelnut cake. While this style/flavor isn't my favorite, we got it for my wife who loved it. It was good even if not my style. And the presentation with cocoa powder sprinkled over the plate made the presentation very appealing. +.5. Our servers were attentive during our meal and kept our waters filled. +.5. At the end of our meal, a to go box was quickly arranged for and our server took some time to just chat with us. Very pleasant and friendly. Small town relaxed vibe if it's ok for me to say it that way. +.5. Adding all that up would make a 7.5 star rating. I am limited to five stars. We will return the next time we are in the area.

Bruschetta. Wow this was so delicious and fresh tasting. Must try.

This is such a gorgeous hidden gem. I would never think to go there if I was just driving by but it was such a nice surprise. Everything tasted so fresh and full of layered thoughtful flavors. I ordered the Pollo Gorgonzola and I will be dreaming about that meal for a while. It was such a different taste that awoke my taste buds and was so enjoyable and satisfying to eat. My mom got the Pollo Limone and it had such an amazing white wine and lemon flavor. Both of our chicken meals were extremely tender and they come with a small salad. It was exactly enough and truly some of the most satisfying and beautiful Italian food we have had in a long time. Highly recommend.

The Strawberry Lodge the perfect place to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary! It was exactly what we wanted it to be! Excellent service (our Server, Alexis was simply delightful!), delicious food (the cream sauce on the Beef Tortellini is to die for!) and beautiful ambiance (vintage, romantic Jazz music and soft lighting)! Already looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommend!

This restaurant was the BEST! We definitely enjoyed it very much. I wasn't sure what to expect in such a small rural area, but it came highly recommended & the cozy atmosphere, great food, friendly service was all AMAZING. It definitely surprised us! We had some house salads & bread to start. The dipping oil for the bread, as well as the dressing, was so nicely flavored. Mushroom Ravioli was so delicious, probably the best Ravioli I ever had. The bruschetta was so good & so flavorful as well. We also tried the mushroom chicken pasta & it was amazing. Cannot say enough about the meal we had here!

There are certain things in life that you simply have to trust…read more You trust that the guy who designed the bridge knew what he was doing. You trust that the pilot sitting up front has successfully done this before. And, occasionally, you have to trust a friendly waitress when she looks at you with the quiet confidence of someone who knows the menu far better than you ever will and tells you what you should eat. This was one of those times. We live in Star Valley, and every once in a while you get a craving for something specific enough that you're willing to get in the car and go find it. On this particular day, we really wanted Italian food. Not pizza. Not a sandwich that could technically be considered Italian because someone put salami on it. We wanted a plate of pasta, garlic bread, a good salad... the whole deal. So, we made the trip up to Strawberry to try MamaJoe's Italian Grill. After looking through the menu and contemplating all of the possibilities, I decided to stop pretending that I knew what I was doing and asked our waitress what she recommended. Shrimp Alfredo. Ok. I'm in. Now, Alfredo is one of those dishes that seems simple enough, but there is a tremendous amount of mediocre Alfredo wandering around this country... overcooked pasta drowning beneath a sea of thick white sauce, desperately hoping that enough parmesan cheese will hide its shortcomings. This was not that. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was creamy and flavorful without becoming a bowl of paste, and the shrimp tasted like they had actually been flame grilled. There was just enough of that grilled flavor to make you stop for a second and wonder exactly what they had done back there. It was fantastic. Even the supporting cast showed up ready to work. The salad came with house-made bleu cheese dressing that was excellent, and the garlic bread performed its important societal function of making sure no Alfredo sauce was unnecessarily left behind on the plate. Then our waitress suggested the Old Fashioned Lemon Cake. At this point she had earned my trust, so there really wasn't much of a decision to make. I'm glad I listened. This isn't just a piece of lemon cake. There is a solid lemon cake base with what I can only describe as a lemon custard kind of layer on top... sweet, tart, creamy and absolutely delicious. The whole meal was simply wonderful. Great food, great service, and one of those friendly small-town restaurant experiences where you get the distinct impression that the people serving you actually want you to enjoy what they're serving. There is probably a lesson in here somewhere... Maybe it's that when someone who spends their days watching people order food tells you what you should eat, you should listen. Or maybe it's simply that really good Alfredo and homemade lemon cake can make you surprisingly philosophical. Either way, if you're sitting in Payson or Star Valley or Globe craving Italian food, it's absolutely worth the drive up to Strawberry. And if the waitress tells you what to order, for God's sake, listen to her.

Last year I stopped by and got their coffee, and it was underwhelming; BUT we stopped by twice this year while visiting and it was a stellar improvement. I am very particular with my espresso/lattes and really enjoyed mine this time around! There are lots of choices of flavors, however, I think something that could really help improve the coffees even more would be some homemade syrup! Thank you Sip for a great time. The location was really nice and open with a patio, and the inside was spacious without the tables being packed together. Plenty of room to sit back and actually enjoy your meal. I went with the ribs, and they were smoked just right--exactly how I like them. Honestly, they didn't even need BBQ sauce. I ate some with just the rub and some with sauce, and both ways were delicious. The mashed potatoes were so good I should've ordered more. The mac and cheese wasn't overly creamy, which was perfect for me, and I can't forget the Caesar salad. Really good Caesar salad, and one thing I always appreciate--serve it on a cold plate. This one came out nice and cold and was super fresh. Overall, really good BBQ, great sides, and a nice comfortable location. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Payson.

Hello Everyone: This review is for Rim Country BBQ and Wood Fired Pizzas in Payson, AZ…read more This was our first time at this restaurant. We would definitely come back again. Because we could not decide what to order, we got the sampler plate which had meats, sides, and dipping sauces. The photos show you the "before" and "after" of our meal! Bathrooms are clean. We had no problem finding off-street parking. Analysis of experience: This plate is enough for two people. You get: two ribs, two 1/2 pieces of sausage, a scoop of pulled pork (about 1/3 to 1/2 cup), two thin slices of brisket and some sliced smoked turkey breast. Also included is a sampler container of their dipping sauces to enjoy with your meat. Sides included: baked beans, corn, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, potato salad and mac & cheese. Our meat favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork. This is why: I first tried a bit of each meat with no sauce. I don't want to review sauces and sauces can cover up/mask many issues just like a coat of paint on a wall. Therefore, I started with meat (no sauce) tastings, then moved to the meat and sauce tasting. Ribs: The rib meat easily cut off the bone and was tender. There was not a lot of meat, the bones were pretty big as you can see, but what meat there was had a nice flavor and was tender. Pulled Pork: The pulled pork was some of the most tender I have experienced. This meat went well with ALL the dipping sauces served to us. I did not get a lot of smoke flavor to it, the flavor was subtle, but that allowed for the sauces to shine a little bit. Brisket: The brisket was tender, but I felt the fat line on the top of the brisket was still too intact for me (not rendered enough so the fat juices get down into the meat) and I thought the brisket was a tad dry. Turkey: The turkey breast had a nice flavor, but again, it was very subtle. This meat was also a tad dry, not bad with sauce on it, but could have been a little juicier. That was perhaps my least favorite because it was on the dry side. Sausage: The sausage was 1/2 of a sausage cut in 1/2 again as you can see in the photo. This was a spicy sausage with a charred cut side, very nice. The char on the sausage added a nice crunch to each bite. My husband and I both agreed our favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork and should we return, these two meats would be on our radar. Regarding the sides, here is my review: The yellow corn was average - nothing special. The mashed potatoes were average - nothing special. Mac & Cheese - average, nothing special. The sauce on this item was too runny for us. The sauce wound up against other items on the plate. The cole slaw was nice, fresh tasting, but I think it needed a dash of fennel. The coleslaw and the potato salad (items which are served cold) were co-mingled on the plate with all the hot items. I would have preferred them being served inside a small bowl or container on the serving platter to keep them cold. The potato salad was very good - I would definitely order that again. The beans were excellent - I would definitely order those again. This menu item is also served with a piece of garlic bread which was very good - it had melted butter on it and tasted like garlic! I am giving this 5 Stars even with some short falls regarding flavor and or juiciness because of the environment, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, available to find parking without driving around, and menu choices. The menu is large, enough choices for everyone to get something. If we are back in the area, we will try one of their pizzas. Hannah was our server and she did a nice job checking on us since she knew it was our first time there. Very pleasant, nice smile, and good with her customers. Enjoy!

When I looked at their menu and saw their high ratings, I decided that we should go there for lunch after we were done in Jerome. Before lunch, we walked around the area for a bit to enjoy the nice Cottonwood weather, then headed back as opening time approached. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the hostess and requested a table on the patio. They were more than happy to give us a seat on the patio with views of many cars passing by while we relaxed outside. Our server was very nice and helpful, and when I mentioned that I wanted to get the Cire's pizza, he said it was one of their best-selling pizzas. I could see exactly why it was one of their top pizzas. Everything tasted fresh, and I thought the crust had one of the best textures of any wood-fired pizza I have ever had. While I unfortunately was unable to finish it due to the huge breakfast from earlier in Jerome, the pizza was still delicious. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant.
