We were a small group of three at 6pm on a Saturday night with no reservations. We were looking for a local place that was very informal at the end of that day. The restaurant wasn't very busy at this particular time and the hostess stand was empty for ten minutes so we needed to poke our heads into the bar area a few times to let someone know there were a couple of parties waiting up front. Once we were seated the service was prompt and we had no issues with getting drinks or our orders timely. We were given two menus, one in a cover the other on a single sheet of paper and were told they were identical. We had to point out they were actually not the same, one did not have all of the dishes as the other causing just a little bit of confusion at our table, a delay in ordering and intervention from our server. The food was decent, but nothing special. Sports games were on the televisions (with no sound) near the seating in the bar section, and the music was nice and not too loud. To the chef and menu planner: The ricotta gnocchi on the menu needs to be renamed. It is very, truly not gnocchi at all, but rather a dish of small and light ricotta balls which in no way resembles even the lightest ricotta gnocchi that could be prepared. We didn't think there was any flour or binder in this recipe at all. We wondered if this dish could be considered gluten-free, which should be specified given this would be an important choice for some customers. The ambiance was nice. My husband and I came here with our 1 year old and she was so sweet to him. I believe our waiters name was Lisa? My memory sucks, but the customer service was amazing. He got the chicken pot pie and I got a bowl of chili and a salad. The food was delicious! read more

Everything on the menu is fantastic, bartenders are friendly and keep me coming back.. Beer selection is great, lots of beers I don't typically see anywhere else. Also good signature drinks, lavendar lemonade is amazing. The $6 burger on Wednesdays is the best in town. Definitely worth a stop-in. read more

regarding atmosphere and food I give it 5 1/2 stars. Regarding the bartender who worked today I give it a -5 1/2. Never professional, nor appropriate for a bartender to call a patron a B I,TC... and the fact that they don't have a card reader, and that prevented my niece from having a drink is unacceptable. I get the law and the liability, but the delivery of how she presented the situation was totally unprofessional and unacceptable and I question whether I will ever go back in to this establishment. by the way, the other bartender was quite nice, Marlene was not only professional, but also respectful and kind. My husband and I love the chicken tenders and French onion soup and we had the pizza for the first time and absolutely loved it! Beer options are good and service is also on point. First time there, and sorry to say it wasn't a good experience. Staff seemed overwhelmed or inexperienced. As a result, they weren't attentive, wait times were long, and had to ask several times for menus and drinks. Counters weren't wiped. When food finally did arrive, the chili was cold, cheese wasn't melted and grilled Rueben wasn't grilled at all. It was cold and soggy and cheese wasn't melted. Our new favorite place in the Collegeville/Shippack area after only two visits! Stray Dog has everything you want in a local pub. Great menu and everything is made from scratch including the boneless wings- hand breaded, and chicken pot pie. Buck a shuck oysters during happy hour. Live music on the weekends. World class bartenders- Shane from Belfast and Zahara are fantastic! They have great personalities and are super friendly, so grab a seat at the bar! Wait staff are attentive and personable! I really like this bar/restaurant. It's the old Justin's Carriage House, but completely refurbished and redone. The menu is great and the food is excellent. The bartenders (especially Shane and Zahara) are attentive and fun. Great local place to spend an evening. read more

I came here today may 25 2024 with my family for a nice meal,we ordered our food after slight delay requested appetizers to come out before our meal, all our food came at once per waitress Maria she apologized thought our apps came out already fair play she said she would comp app, then 10 minutes later came to us and said had to leave due to the manager had pushed her, she was crying looked very upset, we were totally neglected, asked for our check another 20 minutes later had to go the bar get it myself,spoke to one of the staff asked what happened she said it wasn't her that pushed her, another staff member said Maria was lying, totally unprofessional never go back, they did comp our drinks, left zero tip never going back read more

I just left this place on 3/25 after ordering a drink I was going to get another one and some food but I waited and waited and I could not get the bartenders attention Maybe it had something to do with the 2 attractive girls across from me who he was talking to. First time visit. Sat at the corner table on the porch. The windows were filthy with kids hand prints that were not from one day. Clean the windows in morning and after lunch. Soda was flat. Server said they just changed it. ok taste it before you serve it. the iced tea was so bitter and terrible tasting. Server took order on the tiniest piece of paper and got it wrong. That correct dinner was served after three others were done. No compensation for the mistake. That same server spilled a drink on two customers at another table. Food was good though. I had chicken special and it was flavorful. Fish and chips were a nice portion. Same with tacos. owners: food is good but the place needs TLC. oh the sugar was hard as a rock because it was previously wet. Don't serve that! Attention to detail is needed. read more

We love the food (try the oysters, Brussels sprouts and pierogies) and extensive beer list, and the live local bands every weekend are a plus. We normally frequent Dutch Tavern down the street, but wanted to change things up a little. We will be back to Stray Dog very soon! read more

Zero Stars. Ate here about 4 months ago when things were still transitioning. The wait was long but the beer list was great and food was good (burgers). We had reservations today and waited about 10min at the hostess stand. Several people walked out and said the wait was 1.5h. No problems, we have reservations, right? Not so much. The waitress told us the wait would be at least 30min for a table and then had 2 or 3 other groups behind us to go have a seat at the bar--that she'd remember all of us, no need to put in a name. I don't expect much, but come on, if you aren't going to take reservations and intend to honor them, just don't take them. I'll go somewhere else. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised Last Saturday night as I had decided to give the place a Try. I had stopped going to the previous place awhile ago as it was not the same and dingy! I found a large cozy Pub style bar and very casual happy atmosphere!! Although crowded I decided to stay as our Hostess, who was very friendly and so funny I didn't want to disappoint her. Finally sat at the bar had a drink and it was lively and great Bartender so the wait was fine. We got a really nice both and a server named Chloe who was so nice and personable!! To the Best part: the food was great and came to the table perfect as ordered!! Bob had a huge Burger and the Bun was a complement to the quality of the Burger. Their side Cesare was very good and fresh. I took a chance with the Beef Tips and they were so tender and cooked exactly the way I ordered, with fresh saute' spinach and a side Cesare. The entire meal was delicious and reasonable. The owner came over and sat down n talked with us to make sure were were happy. Great addition to Skippack and wonderful people there!! Love It!! This place is wrong on so many levels. First, our drinks were weak. We had just enough bourbon or gin to say it was in there. Our chilli was served cold. The cheese was straight out of the fridge as was the sour cream. Our entrees were awful. No flavor at all. The server was unable to tell us what type of alcohol was behind the bar. She didn't know how to run out card. Total disappointment. We won't be back and strongly recommend to stay away. read more

Arrived at restaurant at 12:10 pm Sunday for lunch. Door was locked so we knocked. A young person popped his head out the door and said they needed 10 to15 more minutes to setup. We said to him do you expect us to stand outside in 40 degree rain to wait or can he just let us sit in lobby. He begrudgingly let us in sat us at a table. The table was dirty and sticky to touch. Went to move my upside down water glass and it was stuck to table. Really sanitary way to put glasses on table. Waited another ten minutes for server to appear. Finally took our order my wife and I both ordered a classic burger with no onions. Simple enough you would think. Wel after waiting about an hour and many annoying apologies later our food appeared. What a major disappointment since we had eaten there under old management. I don't know how you screw up a simple order but the did. Sandwich came out without the sauce on it. The burger was dry after they must of pressed the meat while it cooked. The cook didn't season the meat at all and the fries were soggy. What a major disappointment. My friend and I had dinner there tonight after work. It was an awesome experience. The atmosphere was great, the food was awesome (I had the crab cakes & my friend had the sirloin tips). The prices were reasonable. Our waitress Michelle was exceptional--she was very friendly and courteous. The manager came over to us several times to make sure all was ok. It's a very nice place and I look forward to going back there soon. I highly recommend this restaurant--you won't be disappointed! I give this restaurant 5+ Stars!!! read more

Love this new place. It's cute and cozy inside. There's pictures of dogs all over the place! I enjoyed the outside patio during a warmer fall day. The menu has something for everyone and everything tastes fresh. I got a salad with pears and blue cheese and I added chicken. It was so good. I'm not a beer drinker, but my fiancé is and he was super impressed with the draft and bottle list. The cocktails look great, but I didn't get to try any. Service was warm and professional. This place is awful. Make sure you have hours to spend if you want to go here. We decided to try this new place out while visiting my dad. First, it took ten minutes for the hostess to appear. We were seated and then it took another 10 minutes for the waitress to even greet us. We ordered soup and salads for a party of 3. The food took over 45 minutes to come to our table....and it was only one of the soups. They forgot the other people in my party's food. After ten minutes of waiting, I flagged down the hostess and told her. She returned some time later and said it is coming. Well ten more minutes later the rest of the food came. It was awful. The clams were so sandy and bitter tasting. Asking for the check was a whole other process. The waitress disappeared with our credit card for 20 minutes.
