I took my vehicle in to have a/c fixed it worked for 2 days Dan said bring it back in I did again and again after 1 day it stopped working again he said bring it back I did not I did not feel like continuing to bring it back every other day obviously did not know how to fix . They also charged me for a transmission flush that was never preformed when I went to a different mechanic to get my a/c fixed properly they showed me transmission flush had never happened .The last thing is Dan said I would be needing brakes real soon when I had the inspection at the other company they said my brakes were fine . The work at Dans cost me $700 for an a/c that never was fixed and a transmission flush that never happen . read more

If you value your money, time and sanity, skip this shop. This guy is the absolute worst! He is a liar, cheat and just an overall horrible human being. I checked the Google reviews several months ago before this happened and was satisfied by what I saw, but then after this all happened I checked yelp and there are many reviews where this guy did the same thing to multiple people where he did shoddy work or didn't do the work at all and then just won't answer the phone when the people try to get a hold of him. My car was not running, so I went to his shop and he agreed to tow it. Street Auto had the car for about 2 weeks. He called me and told me the various things wrong with the car and I authorized him to fix what he thought was wrong. The he calls and says the car is fixed. I asked a family member to pick the car up and drive it home. It barely ran and was by no means fixed. I texted him the next day and told him it was barely running and not fixed or even drivable, he said he was sorry to hear that and to bring the car back in. I called him on Monday and he was a rude jerk and basically took no accountability for lying to me and saying the car was fixed. He told me I could pay to have it towed back in and he would look at it. Now why would I want to give this cheat more of my $? After reading reviews, it seems that this is the standard way he conducts business. If it's not an easy fix, he lies, has the customer pick up the car and then refuses to take their calls. I ended up having to have it towed to another shop and pay more $ to get it fixed. Not only did he not fix the car, but the car was scratched, dirty and over a 1/2 of tank of gas was gone from the car when it was returned to us. Stay away from this place!!!!! read more

I enjoyed doing business with Dan at Street Automotive. Made an appointment on the weekend for Monday at 8 AM. Dan confirmed the appointment during the weekend! Had my truck there at 8 am, filled out the paperwork, and left. Really expected the worse. Nope. Dan called a couple hours later and the problem was a lot less than I thought it was going to be. Wow! I would have left a zero review if I could. This guy screwed my 70 year old friend who speaks very little English. He gave him an estimate of $1,000 for an bunch of work on his RV he never did. He was supposed to fix his generator, replace the water pump, fix some electrical, and get his hot water heater going. He got the hot water heater going but it was set too high which caused a huge water leak. He fixed the electrical to the generator but didn't fix the generator. He didn't replace the water pump but he got it going. He still charged his $800. He said he needed a couple of days but my friend needed a few things from his RV because he lives in it. We stopped by a couple of times and even though the open sign says 9am to 5pm the gate was locked and no one was around during business hours. I told him on the day he was supposed to finish the job that if he wasn't going to be done that day we needed to stop by and get my friends meds. He got upset and said I was rushing him. He looked very stressed out all the time. I don't know if it is from the steroids or he just can't handle stress. His shop looks like a junk yard. Do not trust this guy. All the bad reviews are true. He refused to give us a receipt or break down the charges. I almost called the police but because it's a civil matter there wasn't much they could do so it would have been a waste of time. read more

WOW, Stopped in after work 3:00 pm to see when they could get me in for some work. As i walk in the guy on the phone runs around the counter pointing at the floor telling me to stay on the rugs. I JUST MOPPED. he went back to his desk to finish up the phone call. He hangs up so i look down and the floor is dry so i step up to the counter and yet again he comes around the counter and tells me to stay on the RUG. Come on really you are a Garage, 2nd you have 2 more hours before you close. So as i look at the guy and say well i guess a clean floor is more important then me and my parents business. I really was hoping to leave a positive review for these folks. The front desk/owner Sue was polite and professional but the end result was not top notch and seems to be a quick fix job. I had them work on an oil leak problem I had with my Mitsubishi Diamante. I had it towed in to their shop to diagnose and repair the leak. When Dan, the owner/mechanic lifted the vehicle he found my oil filter to be loose and said the leak was coming from there. He also noted a leak from the oil pressure switch and replaced that. The oil change and a pressure switch cost me $120. He told me he had to order the switch and would take 30-60 minutes to get it. After waiting in the lobby for close to an hour, Dan came back in and said, well it's still leaking and that what he did didn't work but could not look into the problem or work on my car anymore that day as he had other customers to help and would have to wait until tomorrow to look at it with a "fresh set of eyes". He had mentioned he would have to "remove the oil adapter block" to see where the oil was leaking from. He could not or would not tell me how many hours or cost of labor it would be to remove the oil adapter block on a car like mine. I could tell he was very frustrated and defensive when trying to get an idea of how much just removing that block would be (not to repair the leak, as of course he wouldn't know until he removed it. I get that.) But I wanted to know how much just to remove the block. He wouldn't tell me, but another auto repair place was able to tell me that over the phone. Anyway, we left it at that, both of us feeling frustrated, for him to call me in the morning to let me know how much it would cost to remove an oil adapter block (which by the way, no other mechanic in the area uses that terminology of an oil adapter block). So he calls me back in the morning and says oh actually it is fixed after all, it's not leaking and you can pick up your car. Well it did appear that in fact the leaking had stopped, but 3 days later the car is leaking again in the same place. The mechanic owner knew I was trying to get back to Seattle and my guess is he did a "quick fix" hoping it would do the trick, without actually diagnosing the problem. Another shop said that it's standard to use an OIL DYE that gets put into the engine and when the oil leaks you can tell by the colored dye is leaking from. That's the truest way to find and stop a leak. Apparently this shop doesn't use that technique or practice. So I've been trying to reach them all day to see if they can fix it again, but no answer at all, just voice mail. And my car is no better off today than it was 3 days ago. But the lady at the front desk was nice. read more

I recently took my car in for a yellow warning light, after speaking to owner on phone. When I arrived Dan told me that my transmission didn't sound right. I assumed that was the problem. He charged $335.00 to replace transmission fluid and filter. My car was brought around front. He had a 2006 Mazda MPV sitting out front (I'm assuming the same one that he had previously sold to another woman) that he would sell to me for $3000. I told him I would give it some thought. When I put my car in drive the warning light was still on. I alerted him to this fact. He supposedly went back to ask the mechanic about this problem and came back saying the mechanic could not turn light off. I left concerned about it I realized part way home why he could not turn it off, because the problem wasn't addressed. That was the reason I was there. I hate to leave a poor review but I also don't care to do business with someone who completely ignores my reason for coming to his shop to begin with. I am another female who I believe he underestimated. Because I treated him with respect and courtesy doesn't mean I am a complete moron. It is such a shame that he willing to lose a good customer and probably a few more due to his dealings with me. read more

Dan hooked me up with a new car when I was struggling with Craigslist lemons. He was on top of any repairs the car needed while I was making payments with him. He has always been very trustworthy and reliable and has gone the extra mile (no pun intended) which is what keeps me coming back and referring friends and family to this place. Car issues and repairs can be unpredictable and inconvenient, but Dan does his absolute best to work with his customers! I had this shop replace a radiator and what a pain it has been. Left the shop and drove home and heard a noise when I turned of the engine. Popped the hood and the antifreeze was boiling out of the overflow. Nice 3 ft. circle of antifreeze on the driveway. Called and was told by Dan that it was common because of air locks. He said "bring it by and they would fix it while I waited. I went there at 12:15 and they were closed for lunch. They locked up and left. I went around back and found the mechanics eating lunch and inquired who replaced the radiator. Found the guy and he admitted that he did not bleed the system because he wad afraid he would brake the bleeder valve. I called Dan and he said they would be back from lunch "in 30". I did not wait. This place has no concept of customer service or proper replacement procedures of automobile parts. I only saved $150 versus dealer pricing so I would go to a dealer before using this place again. read more

Came to town for a visit to the parents and of course the a/c on the cars weren't working, so after reading some reviews I came here. Steve, the man at the desk, was professional, courteous and very thorough in explaining the issues and their resolutions. He made some suggestions, and the car went into the shop and was fixed while I waited. The repairs were done well, quickly and the reasonable prices were explained beforehand so there were no surprises. It was important to me to write this review., because my parents live within a couple of miles of the shop in a retirement area and it is often a daunting task for seniors to try to arrange repairs due to fears of being ripped off-my parents have unfortunately fallen into less-than-scrupulous hands and it hurts them not only financially but psychologically. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending street auto repair. Dealing with them and being there watching Steve deal with other customers I know I have found an honest man and a garage that does quality work at reasonable prices. Dan of street automotive is now "incognito". Not to be found or able to get any response from texts, or emails. Call his number, and he wants you to text him for "service". No face to face with a customer? WOW. What a way to do business. I emailed him, texted him, no response. He rebuilt my engine (or he said he did). It's been about a year and a half, and it stills smoke like crazy. 50 miles of driving equals 1 quart of oil. Dan said " just keep driving it. " Yeah right. There is something wrong with the so called rebuild, and he doesn't want any part of it now,. I doubt if his wife Sue agrees with his new business plan. Oh, if you stop by his shop, you'll be told to call the number on the gate. Doesn't matter. You'll get a recording to text him. I would suggest if you need engine work, run very fast to some other "Qualified" auto repair shop. Maybe Dan is in the witness protection plan?" read more

This shop is horrible! Dan is a good talker and tells you all the things you want to hear. He never actually works on the car he has inexperienced people doing the work. I had them replace my clutch, but after never engaged properly, I took it back to him and he said that its probably how I was driving it. It worked better before he replaced my clutch. Wow! So he agreed to take it and look at it but then came up with other problems after replacing more than the clutch because he convinced me there were additional problems! Not an honest man or shop. I pulled my own engine replaced my clutch personally and he didn't even put a new clutch in my car, I had a cracked fork lever, warped fly wheel, throw out bearing barley spun and it was filthy! I could list other things that were completely over looked and not even mention to me that customer. I could go on and on take your cars some where else. read more

I've had numerous experiences with mechanics over the years and I could never recommend this one enough. I always get a great price along with a quick repair, like the day of usually. I got in an accident on the 202 and called my insurance, they said " be there in a couple hours" -(statefarm insurance). I got a tow truck in 20 min from street automotive. I was stressing thinking that this was going to cost so much in repairs. They as always do the best work for as little cost. They really care about your car and you. I have been going to Dan for 4 years. He is honest and has a lot of integrity. My AC broke and he fixed it and gave me a year warranty. Eight months later it broke I brought it in to him and he fixed it. I was expecting to pay shop fees or something. He came back out handed me the keys and said your good to go.
