On average a good choice for quality chicken. You can always count on the chicken to be fresh and fried to perfection (if you choose fried). The deviled eggs are a must anytime I visit. Their spicy chicken sandwich is big and the accompaniments are perfect. As for sides, I love them all. The green beans and grits are great! I love their brussel sprouts, however, on occasion they make them too sweet or soaked in too much syrup. They have an in house hot sauce which is also delicious, though you have to ask for it now. I'm a big fan of Streets Fine Chicken! So much so, I went two days in a row without thinking twice. It's a small diner feel with great service and delicious food! I typically go for the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken is so tender you can cut it with only a fork! I have also tried the Chicken Pot Pie which is filled with so much chicken. Both big winners! I came to streets fine chicken for a quick brunch with friends. Upon entering we were immediately seated . Around 11am on a sunday it wasnt crowded yet but eventually got crowded . This is the best friend chicken I've tried inside of a restaurant. I've had good home cooked fried chicken. You can lift the skin and it's like a thick wafer of crunchy battered skin. Parking is so important nowadays so I am awarding a star for this. Hostess seated me. No waiting at noon this Sunday. Several sizes of tables available. Big bar area is another area you can sit and dine. Very casually dressed clientele. One hdtv above the bar. There are brunch selections on the table menu. Cocktails and other drinks available. I had two fried chicken tenders with honey Dijon dipping sauce, whipped potatoes with cream gravy, and a buttered biscuit. $12 cost for this lunch plate is very reasonable. The tenders had crisp, non-greasy crust. All cooked and served to temperature. Tasted good. Waiter service is attentive. Kept my iced tea refilled. Offered me a to go tea when I paid at my table. Men's bathroom is clean and decent. I left at 12:40 pm on this Sunday. Tables were beginning to fill up and dining room was becoming loud. There were now more cars parked in the dedicated parking lot. Summary: Great restaurant for a reliable chicken meal. Today's craving was fried chicken and fried green tomatoes. Fortunately, I was in the right city! I was also curious to experience Southern food with a "French twist". Let me start my review by saying thank you to Casey, our amazingly attentive and wonderful server. Great food without great service is the worst - but Casey scored 5+ stars with us on today's visit. We stopped in about 1200 on a Saturday - they offered a brunch menu. I was so thrilled to see Fried Green Tomatoes on the menu. The appetizer serving was 5 good sized pieces fried in panko, not the traditional flour or corn meal. It came with a side of creamy remoulade and a grilled lemon half. Any reservations I may have had about the panko coating dissolved after the first bite. Perfection. I ordered the double Fried Thigh & Leg quarter meal with a side of Collard Greens. The plate came with a golden brown hot biscuit slathered on the outside with honey butter. I'm not a huge fan of biscuits with chicken but ..... wow. It was soft and fluffy inside and buttery/sweet/crisp on the outside. The greens were tender and perfectly seasoned. My mom would approve. The star of the show was the chicken. Made to order and so worth the wait (which was maybe 15 minutes). Served steaming hot from the fryer. Because it's brined - it was so full of moisture - every bite was juicy and delicious. The coating was perfectly golden and crunchy - seasoned to perfection and not salty. The chicken was so tender it just pulled away from the bone easily. A flavor explosion of crunchy juicy yummy goodness. I took the last quarter of chicken with me to enjoy tomorrow - because I know I'll be pleasantly satisfied all day from this amazing meal. First time at Streets, was not disappointed. My partner and I had gone during lunchtime, and there was a steady stream of customers coming in and out the whole time. Streets is a popular destination in Oak Lawn, and rightfully so. For our appetizer- we had gotten the chicken fried bacon, which was delicious. Perfectly fried, and paired with a regular and jalapeño gravy. As weird as it sounds, the jalapeño gravy was definitely a highlight of the meal . It's unique, and definitely something everyone should try. It's not spicy, but has that jalapeño flavor that pairs wonderfully with the bacon. I had also gotten the fried chicken breast with Tabasco grits. The brine they used made the chicken very juicy, and the breading was delicious. I normally don't handle greasy well, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that it was not greasy at all. After I tried this chicken I realized why they are so well known. The Tabasco grits were a little watery, but another delicious combination I did not expect. One caveat- the Oak Lawn location is a little tight and LOUD. It didn't take away from the meal at all, but if you prefer a quieter setting it may be better to order to go. read more

Streets gets their chicken down! Their bone-in fried chicken is always so tender and juicy, even the breast piece. They have good selections of sides as well. My favorite is their grits. I'm not a huge fan of their tenders. I prefer to have my tenders without sauce, so it has to be flavorful. This wasn't the case when I ordered their tenders. Service is good, but nothing to really write home about. Overall, a pretty solid spot if you're craving some southern style fried chicken. PS. they also do Nashville style apparently.
