Strictly BMW is the only shop on the Eastside I trust with my 2009 E92 M3. They handle everything from regular maintenance to aftermarket work, like installing my Eventuri carbon plenum and intake. I brought the car to them for a second opinion after valve cover gasket leaks persisted following replacement elsewhere. The previous shop also couldn't locate a right rear suspension knock and suggested replacing the Evolve damper. Strictly fixed both issues promptly. The suspension wasn't broken; it was loose hardware they found and tightened. They also redid the valve cover gaskets properly and charged less than the first shop. Their turnaround time was faster than other shops. Taking my car here first would have saved me months of headaches and thousands of dollars. read more

We took our BMW X3 here with a check engine light. Jeff was our service advisor and took care of us throughout the repair, giving us accurate time estimates and updates. The prices were very reasonable and I'd prefer to use them over any dealer. They are also more skilled than other auto shops in the Seattle area so I am comfortable taking our X3 there for anything that comes up. I initially took my 4-series to the dealership for a comprehensive check and was told that I needed a brake flush, amongst other things. During which they discovered the bleeder screw on each wheel was stuck. An attempt to loosen it with WD40 didn't work. The recommendation is to replace all four calipers, I said no due to the cost ($7,000). Two days later, I brought the car to Strictly BMW first thing in the morning and spoke to Andrew (General Manager). Told him about the experience with the dealership and he would personally do the brake flush and see what can be done with the bleeder screws. A few hours after I had left, Andrew called and said "good news and bad news". Three of the four screws came off, but the fourth one broke off. I'm happy with that outcome and the fraction of the cost compared to the dealership. I'll keep bringing my car here for scheduled maintenance and repairs. I stop by to get a quote for my e38 bmw 740il very common timing chain service .... After waiting in the front desk for couple min older gentleman open the sliding window for the maintenance bay and he goes "yes " ..!!! I replied I need a quote for a repair on my e38 for a timing chain service ... he goes " on top of my head 7000$ .. I replied do you guys give a written estimate and he reply that he can't with out seeing the car .... I guess I should of wore a 2 piece suit not my shorts and sandals and drove a very fancy car for a decent customer service ....it was very disappointing cause location and the reviews suggested it was a high end shop ... but customer service that I experienced doesn't match the reviews .. maybe he was having a bad day who knows .. read more

In the Puget Sound area, before you buy a used BMW or Mini, first take it to this place for a thorough pre-purchase inspection. They charge about twice as much as other shops in the area for that service, but that money will be very well spent. I had them inspect a car I was intending to buy, and after several hours of going over it and noting all of its flaws, rather than the gorgous machine presented in the photos by the dealership, the car turned out to be a mess. They saved me from blowing 30k on that car, and probably a similar amount just to bring it up to a decent state, mechanically and cosmetically thereafter. And here's the most important part. Left to my own devices I doubt I would have noticed 10% of its flaws, many of which would have been major expenses. I learned my lesson to NEVER buy a used car without first having it thoroughly inspected by a reputable mechanic that specializes in that particular make. In the Seatle/Bellevue area, for BMW's and Minis' this is the place to go. Period. read more

First, I think it is important to mention that I was referred by several people to Strictly BMW, including from an owner of another Garage who specializes in Land Rovers who I trust very much. I purchased an older model BMW last August (2019) and when it came time to do service I called and made an appointment and have zero complaints. I have had several services done by Strictly including electrical work, oil change, standard service as well as the replacement of a tail light assembly. My car has worked better each time after it has left and has never had to be with the shop for more than one night. Aside from the quality of work which is phenomenal, the integrity of the people there, especially Jeff who I have primarily interacted with, is what I really appreciate most. Knowing that used BMW's tend to have issues if not taken care of properly, which in turn tends to make maintenance and repairs a little more pricey than other domestic or Japanese cars, I haven't really felt that burden because of strictly. They are incredibly honest about what needs to be done, have provided me with options on what is most important or timely to be done, been accurate with quotes and time frame of repairs. Also, though it is a little more expensive, I appreciate that they use OEM parts, and are all certified by BMW. All in all, my experience with Strictly BMW has been nothing but the best, and I would recommend them whole heartedly to anyone in the Seattle/Bellevue area looking for a quality mechanic for their BMW. read more

Nice guys, but I would NOT recommend them! Did a PPI with them. They failed to tell me about rust underneath the car, rear subframe, brakes etc. Also forgot to mention that the car was NOT on stock springs. I always expect a shop to recognize its regulars; Strictly BMW has treated me as one since the initial visit. They've made it easy to treat my car as more than just transport, but a fun drive and a bit of treasure to keep up. I brought my newly-acquired "nearly vintage" daily driver here for initial checkout inspection - the kind you're supposed to do *before* you buy :) - they were very reasonably priced and talked me out of some more expensive tests I asked for. With inspection came detailed quotes for each of the items needing service, and filled in my very detailed list of all points I wanted checked. They also mapped out with me a set of steps I could take in the fix-up process, each allowing an affordable way to improve its life and a sensible place to stop and take stock of how much fix-up I really wanted to do. 7 months later, I've gotten every item on their list repaired by them, and am delighted at the improvements. For the more expensive items they offered money-saving advice and alternatives; in most cases I opted for the more expensive "make it like the original car" option, but even then they'd find savings and charge me less than the estimate when possible. Each time something looked like it would cost more, it was due to discovery of a needed repair; each time this has happened, I'd been advised in advance that it might. Along the way I also fixed up all the things I could safely do myself (interior, detailing, stereo, lighting, etc). They've always been there to help when I've asked, saved me a ton of troubleshooting when I ran into electrical gremlins, and always return the car better than it was. They seem great until one of the items you had serviced failed. Then it's a whole different story. I had one of my Windows fall down into the door panel. It was going to cost $900.00 to replace a motor. They agreed to fetch the window from the door and seal it closed. They charged me $250.00 for this service. 3 days later the window fell down again into the door well. When I called to tell them about it. They then said they can't guarantee the work on something like that. They did not even offer me a refund...I wish they could have been honest upfront with me. I had spent close to $4000.00 with them and they lost a good customer. They are not as pricy as the Dealership but they will find ways to get your money. They also do not do the little things when it comes to service of your vehicle. Don't expect any extra services done to your vehicle. This is what Auto Repair Shops look like in heaven. I sincerely couldn't find a single bad thing to say about these guys and I'm usually very critical of car garages. First of all these guys know what they're doing and they do it with a passion. They know BMWs old and new by heart and take great care to do everything right. They respect the customer's choices 100%. If for example you're the kind of person who prefers to repair rather than replace they'll do all they can to go in that direction. Meantime they will always advise you the best they can to save you money while still bringing your car to perfection. If you're the kind of person who likes to do some of the work yourself, they'll totally respect that as well and will even advise you what to do (any other garage I've been to would pretty much ignore you since they're basically losing business). Unlike most high end car garages, they rejoice if you bring a classic. Most garages think that if you drive a 20 year old car you don't deserve their attention and that they can butcher your car. This garage is one of the very few where your classic gets the proper attention and recognition. They not only fix cars but also race them! They have an E30 that they compete with in PRO3. They might not be the cheapest around but trust me, every penny is well spent with them. read more

I have been working with Strictly for over 10 years on my 4 different BMWs ranging from an ailing 1975 2002, the grocery getter 1993 325i, the wolf in sheep's lederhosen 540is/6spd and the beauty queen 1997 840ci (aka "uber problem child"). Regardless of which of our cars has been brought in for services, the team at Strictly has always handled our vehicles with the OCD attention to detail and excellence. If they tell you that something 'should' be replaced, consider their word golden because a) they are not going to rip you off and b) they really do care about LONG TERM preventative maintenance, and that is the stuff that will keep your Bimmer on the road running great for a long, long time. I credit Strictly for saving me tens of thousands of dollars. Literally. If you know anything about 8-series, you know that they are extremely difficult cars to maintain and repairs on them can put a rock-star in the welfare line. They tell it like it is, and the prices are reasonable. They send a postcard, reminding you of an oil change and also place a sticker on the corner of your window. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick, if you're just going in for an oil change. Just make sure you schedule a time for any service instead of popping in because they're busy.
