In Nashville for a few days. Like to eat local when and wherever it's possible. We attempted another Wing establishment but found it to be permanently closed. Strikeout Wingz fit the bill. I always get traditional wings and like a dry rub. The only dry rub was a Cajun rub. That's what I truly like anyway. The lady and gentleman that waited on us were very friendly and helpful. I got 10 traditional wings (got 7 flats and 3 drums, not a big deal). Just happened to be there on 69cent wing night too! My wife ordered the 3-piece tender dinner and fried okra. (The 4-star rating is because she did not get her seasoned fries). To be fair to them, they opened every box to show me the food. The tenders were so huge that I assumed the fries were underneath. So my fault for not looking for them. But they still didn't give them to us. The establishment is in a strip center with other businesses. It's not big, but there's about 6-7 tables/booths. When we arrived there was a couple of people eating in. By the time got our food...approximately 30 minutes...the place was packed. We decided to take out to our hotel room. GO HERE! We showed up right after they opened on a Sunday. Food took awhile, I assume because they were still getting ready, but it was delicious! I had the catfish and my fiancée had the Cajun ranch wings. We shared an order of fried Oreos that they waited to bring us so they were fresh! The cashier was helpful to tell us of a new lunch promotion. Food was well priced and the restaurant seemed clean and had a nice atmosphere. Also they helped us with any sauces or items we needed. Got diarrhea off of this food. I should have known something was wrong when I walked in due to the smell and lack of patrons. The Buffalo fries were good. But why would you serve me fake french fries with cheese that wasn't melted? Moving forward. The first Wing I tasted seemed like it was old because the meat was stringy. And it tastes like they had been semi-fried, then fried completely upon the order being placed. The sauces were mediocre at best. The diarrhea was probably the most powerful part of the entire meal. Kept me up for 2 hours starting at 2:00 a.m. in the morning. Will never ever return. Might actually call one of my old OSHA homies to come and investigate. Not sure on spelling , works there, As she so prestigiously and rudely mentioned to me. she obviously does not enjoy her job with how rude she is to customers. I thoroughly enjoyed the hot lemon pepper shrimp tossed in the sauce, the deep fried oreos, and the deep fried twinkie! These are all must haves at Strikeout Wingz on Ewing Drive. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Strikeout Wingz is located where the original Prince's Hot Chicken place used to be. I have had their Strikeout Wingz and and it's flavorful and hot! It is not for the weak. I would only get that flavor if you are off of work the next day. Haha. Their fries are ok. I want to start by saying normally my experience here is decent, but tonight was underwhelming. The guy at the front counter was sitting down on his phone, and didn't bother to get up and greet me when I approached the counter. I tried calling but the phone wasn't on, so I drove back. When I walked in, the boy tells me they aren't talking anymore orders, as if I want just there 15 minutes ago (clearly he doesn't pay attention to detail). I explained the issue and gave him my receipt. He goes to the back and I can hear the girl in the background ask, which an attitude, well what was on under receipt? And I exclaimed, not what's in my box. She gives me an extra wings tosses it the sauce. As he comes around the corner with my order, the girl peeps around the corner and says, you know you ate that wing. What I do know is I will not be back to this location (As someone who has worked in management and the food industry for 10+ years, I can assess these children have no professional guidance). Just left the Ewing Drive location. We arrived a little before opening (opens @11) .The male employee clicked on the open sign we went in . We were excited to try the restaurant which is new to us,it was our first and last time. We entered NO GREETING ,NO SMILE....approached the register the guy there was dry I asked a couple questions he was short and curt. So I decided against eating there due to the customer service and I'm glad I did because immediately after changing my mind on not eating I noticed that most of the tables were not suitable to sit and eat at they had debris,crumbs,sauce etc. on them. And we were the FIRST CUSTOMERS.My friend ordered anyway he chose Cajun ranch wings and Cajun ranch fries. He says" the wings were sweet there was nothing Cajun or ranch about them." And also the fries had shredded cheese that was not melted. The food looked thrown together messy and sloppy in styrofoam tray. After ordering he paid and we waited about 15 minutes got the food and he was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! The guy at the counter say"HERES YOUR FOOD HOMIE"!! Which is extremely unprofessional. Regardless of who and what you are outside of work you should always exude professionalism. Needless to say you can count us out as customers.
