Mom had Chicken Piccata and accidentally forgot to sub the side pasta with Alfredo sauce instead of red (she is tomato adverse) and Harlie our very professional server promptly brought her a small dish of Alfredo topped pasta. The service was incredible but the food wasn't so great. The new remodel is so nice! We just didn't love the food. The zoodle vegetale had an unexpected smokey flavor to it and the shrimp scampi was a bit bland in my opinion. The bread was relatively flavorless as well... It has been a while since we have been in. Their pricing is pretty much the same which is nice. Our waitress seemed to be a little fresh because she forgot a few things (menus on the table, drink refills, app, bread refill, etc.). It is fine it happens and she seemed to be aware of her short comings. The food was the usual. Loved the refresh inside but honestly the old look was much more aligned to an Italian restaurant than the current theme. Don't get me wrong, its really nice, its just not warm and welcoming like you want in a family Italian setting. Mostly white and black with very few warm tones. Overall, I will continue to drop in a couple times a year but I would rather drop an extra ~35% to go to Pietro's as they refreshed the whole restaurant and menu since my last review. read more

The Seafood Bisque was very good, the side salad was also very good. For the main dish, I ordered the zucchini noodles dish and added chicken and the noodles flavor was delicious, however, the chicken was so dry and tasted old that I wasn't able to eat it. Nice ambiance, good food, but bad service! We have not been in for years, but decided to have dinner recently. The server took a while to tend to/greet us from the beginning; she did not introduce herself; we had to ask for Parmesan Cheese over the pasta. I thought for this being a nicer Italian restaurant they would shave it over the pasta, but she just brought out a jar like at a pizza joint. She NEVER refilled our empty water glasses; we had to ask for her to remove used soup/salad plates that we piled by the edge of the table to make room for our meals. When we were getting close to finishing up, she didn't offer dessert, which we decided we wanted, and just brought the bill. We then asked for dessert and she happily brought the menu. I asked if any desserts were made in house, and she just said, "Some are." Well, which ones?? When we were preparing to leave, I saw a bus boy refilling other peoples' waters. Our server was super unaware/not attentive of how to take care of her table, and the bus boy never helped. I was very confused and really felt like I didn't even want to leave a tip. Wasn't really feeling this Strings. I remember coming in on a weekend and the place was packed. There was a build up by the entrance of people waiting to get seated and also people picking up their to go orders. We eventually were seated and saw the restaurant slowly starting to fill up. After ordering and seeing the place getting full, our waitresses attention on our table started fading out pretty quickly. I went with the chicken parmesan to compare it to the stockton location. Had a feeling the cooks in the back had Chef Mic (the microwave) going. Plate was very hot and so was the food. Mine tasted overcooked. My lady had a side of broccoli with her meal and said it had a weird flavor to it. I'm not sure how they cook their sides here but after tasting it, it's like I could confirm the cook microwaved the broccoli in a plastic bag or steamed it. You could literally taste the plastic on the broccoli (very disgusting). It took awhile to get our check and the food far from stood out. I'm really questioning the cooks ability to cook. Yesterday was my birthday. My boyfriend was stressed because our county is still pretty much locked down and he wanted my day to be special. I suggested "let's see if Strings in Lodi is open?" Since COVID-19 has crippled our country we have continued to try and support local as much as possible. I was already having a few pretty bad days, all of which had been spent in bed with some sort of terrible throat infection... so naturally I couldn't eat. The problem was that I couldn't go too overboard. I decided pasta could be okay, if it wasn't too heavy, and then maybe I could chew a salad enough that it'd be tolerable. So I ordered what was advertised as GF noodles (which is great considering I don't do well with wheat,) with chicken and a side salad. When my delivery arrived I opened a messy, dripping bag to find ZUCCHINI NOODLES. Now, I don't dislike zucchini, but after 3 days of not eating, there was nothing I wanted less... except for perhaps the RAISINS they put on the salad, along with the dressing that tasted like RAISINS. Who puts raisins on an Italian salad? I'm so confused. But back to the main dish: the "noodles" were swimming in this sauce which I can only guess would have been better if paired with real pasta. It was like cold zucchini soup with 5 strips of microwaved chicken floating in it. I transferred it to a bowl because I couldn't eat it from the tray they provided. The bowl did not help. The bread was probably good, but as you might recall, I CAN'T EAT BREAD. I ended up eating 5 pieces of microwaved chicken, costing me $25 dollars. I'm no CFP, but that seems like just as bad an investment as my marriage.... okay maybe a little better. read more
