This place has an address that's hard to find and/or misleading. I'm not sure which came first, the business or the street naming, but it seems like someone screwed up. I feel sorry for the NEW mailman. Even the Google map on the right isn't toporaphically correct. The business has a Little Orchard street address, but there's also a huge sign on the Almaden side with an arrow pointing to the wrong driveway. I had to drive around the cluster of industrial businesses and ask for directions a couple of times before finally locating the place. It's worth all the effort, once you find it. This place is huge, has tons of parking and covers several warehouses. More importantly, it carries something which I cannot find at any Home Depots, Lowes or building material suppliers. They, not only carry all kinds of stucco products, but also foam window moldings or trims which are becoming trendy this era. These are the architectural elements used to frame window exteriors to give them an aesthetic appearance. These trims are molded and cut from styrofoam into intricate cross-sections. They even carry solid-looking ornate columns which look like they came from the coliseum in Athens, made of foam. They call their products faux crete. Looks like concrete, hard like concrete, but only a fraction of the weight of concrete. Each 8 ft section comes uncoated and prefinished. All I need to do is mix the sand, cement and glue into a paste and slap them on which I learned from the helpful staff. Sounds too easy. Caveat: You need to know what you're doing before attempting it. read more

What a great find. The other day I was looking to do some home repair and went to the big home depot on the corner of little orchard and curtner in san jose. While I was in the store talking to a Home Depot Associate I realized the person I was speaking with probably didn't graduate from middle school and didn't have a clue about what they were doing. After the sales guy left I ran into a building contractor who said there was a place around the corner who specialized in Stucco called Stucco Supply. Wow, even though the place is a bit tough to find, the people there are really incredible. This place is huge. It has an amazing amount of building supplies, everything is incredibly clean, the front desk guys know just about everything to do with finishing the outside of a house (Thanks Mario) and all the yard guys were smiling. This stuck me as odd as it appeared that the yard guys would be the grumpy ones but these guys took my order, said I should go back inside the office to get a cup of coffee and donuts (yeah, if you get there early enough they even have free donut for customers) and that they would load my truck....unbelievable. Its been a really long time since I've found such a great place to do business in the trades. I'll be back and hopefully anyone who reads this will go too. I don't know if this is a public or a private company....looks like they had lots and lots of money tied up in inventory, trucks etc..but whoever is running this place should be really proud of what they have built and of the wonderful people they have working for them. read more

I have been patronizing Stucco Supply for quite a few years. Stucco Supply's service was once above average.Sadly over the last few years their service has declined significantly. I believe it started because of the recession. Their work force was slashed in about half ( which makes perfect sense) because there were few customers at the time. There has been a good amount of business for the past three years or so, customer volume has become pretty immense... sadly again the stucco supply work force has remained basically the same as the dismal days at the hight of the recession. The company needs to part with a little bit of money, hire more help for the purpose of not making their customers just deal with very long waits. I have at times had to give up to an hour of my time just to pick up a small amount of material; that is ridiculous. Seeing around 25 trucks (customers) and only 3 fork lift drivers (1 of which is to busy dealing with unloading stuff for the company and not helping customers; they should do that not during peak hours) is very disheartening. Years before Stucco Supply would have a guy sweep the ground daily, now the ground is constantly covered with layers of plastic cement powder that is constantly floating the air, yuck, yet another reason to hope for rain. Over all Stucco Supply could be good if not great with just a few minor adjustments. Thanks for reading. read more
