If you haven't tried Studio Barre, its a must! The class is unlike any other workout I've done. It is great for all levels of fitness! The workout is low impact and great for those who haven't worked out recently. Every time I leave Studio Barre my muscles can feel the work I have put in and I feel awesome! You can't find anywhere else that has this type of workout with an amazing staff to back it up! Cindi is extremely welcoming and friendly, and excited for you to be there! All of the trainers are sweet, encouraging, and friendly as well! They are all knowledgable and know how to help you get the most out of your workout! I have only been a handful of times but the staff here is wonderful! The girls working the front desk are welcoming and helpful, all the teachers are great and encouraging. Finished my first class at Studio Barre this evening and am pretty disappointed. The lady up front was nice, she checked me in and showed me where to get the equipment. I've only taken two barre classes ever before today and don't know form or what all the moves are called. The instructor, Ashley B, never introduced herself to me and never took the time before class to let me know moves we'd be doing in class, which other studios I've gone to have done. I felt lost most of the class not knowing what I was doing. Ashley B would call out moves, like "tuck", but not explain it. She only came to correct me a few times and most of the time it was when the set was almost over, so I was doing the move wrong the whole time. For a boutique studio I would have thought they would be focused on the students and making sure we knew what to do. When class was over no one working asked if I liked the class or how I felt it went. If I wanted to be ignored I wouldn't pay the extra money for a studio and I would just work out at my regular gym. I have been coming here for about a month and a half with two of my friends and we love it! All of the instructors are so nice and always make you feel welcome. They take the time to learn your name and they ALL give a great workout. The boutique up front is also sooo cute & has really great workout gear with some spunk to it. I'm someone that works out a lot and tries to switch up my workout as much as possible because I get bored after a while but NOT with Studio Barre... By far this is my favorite workout.. I started at once a week and became so obsessed that I now go 3-4 times a week and I'm never bored, always challenged, and can't get enough! This is by far the greatest whole body work out I've ever had. I have been an athlete and fitness guru for over 20 years. I typically am a kick boxer, but recently injured my ankle and now am unable to jump like I used to. I initially tried studio barre classes because they are low impact and there is not much jumping. Now I am addicted to it, and feel so blessed that I was able to try this type of exercising which has made a significant improvement in my core strength, as well as lower extremities and upper body muscular definition. The instructors are all very talented, physically fit, and highly motivated, and it is obvious that they all enjoy their jobs. The owner, Cindy, has amazing positive energy and really makes you feel welcome every time you come for a class. I've been going to Studio Barre for about a year now and I love it. I've always gone to the gym, but never looked forward to it like I do here. It's the whole package, the studio is bright and inviting, the desk staff (Barre-Istas) are super sweet and welcoming and the Barre-tenders are encouraging, supportive and amazing! I have lost body fat and gained muscle mass better than working out on my own at a gym and I have a lot more fun! read more

I tried the classes just this past week. 1. Studio was VERY clean and organized. 2. All employees were kind and helpful. 3. Times the classes were offered were convenient. 4. You certainly felt as though you hit every muscle group throughout the work out. 5. I took a class on Saturday which I had no trouble following but on Sunday I did get lost a bit more (but I think that just has to do with the individual teacher). There is no need for prior experience in dance. 6. You need to wear socks with grip to the class but they are so kind at the studio and always offer you a pair for free at no cost to use. 7. I was sore the next day but not too bad so that is great. 8. I was impressed with the instructors ability to remember everyones name and she used them throughout the class to encourage and compliment. 9. After class the instructor made sure to come over to check in to see what I thought and to give feedback on how I did in my first class. So overall, it was great and it is a perfect way to burn some calories and have some fun. read more

Studio Barre is a great atmosphere to get an amazing workout in. I have to admit I was skeptical going into the studio, but after the workout I felt so amazing! It was probably the hardest, most efficient workout I've ever done. I worked just about every muscle in my body and it is cardio, all in just an hour! All of the instructors are so friendly and you feel right at home because they make a point to learn your name. Almost every time you go to Barre class, it's a different workout with the same results. I would much rather take a barre class than spend a few hours in the gym. You get a better, more isolating and motivating workout in less time. The equipment is always clean and organized. I'm very impressed with the studio and how they run things. The boutique up front has some of the cutest workout clothes too! You also get a credit to your account for each new person you refer, which can go towards classes or shopping at the boutique. Such a great place to work out, even for lazy bones like me who usually have to be dragged off the couch to go exercise. I'd never done barre before, but I quickly got to the point where I didn't want to miss class. I joined when the studio opened, and I love the instructors. Those women are well-trained, they're super lean and crazy strong. It's a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and there is no intimidation factor. I couldn't do a sit up when I started, and I never felt out of place. The studio is clean, the music gets you going, you will make progress quickly. Studio Barre in Newbury Park is fantastic. From the friendly, clean, bright atmosphere to the amazing instructors, to the method itself. Doesn't feel like exercise but rather satisfies the ballet hunger that has been inside me for decades. At the end of the very quick hour, I had so much fun I can never figure out how I got sore! Studio Barre is not only a fantastic full body workout but a beautiful space to tone, lengthen and define my body. At 8 months pregnant I could not feel more safe or comfortable in an environment not to mention completely welcomed! The work out is just what I need to start my day. Leaving feeling a complete full body burn. Knowing that I completely exhausted my entire body in one hour leaves me feeling satisfied and accomplished, just what I need to start my day. The music keeps me motivated and the exercises are always challenging. At this stage in my pregnancy it feels great to do something I know is benefiting not only me but my little bundle of joy as well. Not to mention staying toned and fit will help with the post baby body :) I love being apart of a community and chatting with all the ladies from class, and the boutique is always stocked with the latest yoga wear!
