If you're looking to get a piercing, this is THE spot! If I could give more than 5 stars, I totally would. I seriously can't recommend Kristi enough. She did my navel piercing three years ago, and I still remember how helpful she was with explaining aftercare. Anytime I had a question during the healing process and called, she was always so kind and happy to help. Fast forward to a few days ago -- I irritated that same piercing after switching to a short barbell when it fell out, and it got super swollen. I hadn't been to Through Your Skin in years, but I called anyway because I had no idea what to do... and Kristi immediately offered to help. She switched it back to the original barbell she pierced it with (for an amazing price), and as soon as she changed it, it already felt so much better. She explained exactly what to do to bring the swelling down -- and it totally worked. I was honestly so relieved I came in. It saved the day! While I was there, she also changed out a piercing I had just gotten a few days before at another shop (I didn't love how it looked), and helped me pick out a new piece of jewelry for it that I'm obsessed with. They have such a great selection of jewelry too -- so many cute and high-quality options to choose from! She even replaced a missing ball on my helix piercing -- seriously, she went above and beyond. If youre looking for a unique and well educated place to get your piercing this is the place to go! As someone with snake bites and several other piercings, my old piercers would recommend cleaning habits that ended up extending my healing process. My eyebrow piercing is the most beautifully healed piercing and my belly button is following along not to far after it. I got them both after my birthday in August and was able to switch out my eyebrow right before Halloween :). It's unfortune I forgot my piercers name but the staff are incredibly kind, respectful and open to any suggestions! The vibe is gothic and very cozy, I could've taken a nap waiting lol! read more

Awesome customer service and no nonsense pricing. Skip Hollywood blvd and come here instead! My situation; I had 1/2" ear gauges for a few years. One of them fell out out I lost it and the hole closed up. It's been closed up for a couple years so I've been walking around town with one ear gauge like a loser. I explained my dilemma to Kristie (after going to 3 diff shops which were no help) and she hooked me up great! She was very patient and talented with the needle and got me started with a 6ga to begin my stretching journey back to 1/2" again. Rediscovered this shop after coming to the original House of Freaks back in the late 90s/early 2000s and can't be happier with the experiences I've had over the years. The team are professional and laid back in demeanor which made me feel comfortable as I was getting a bit nervous before my recent nipple piercings! BEST PIERCING EXPERIENCE!!! Called in at 2:30PM on a Sunday for a 3PM same day appointment. Might have caught them at a good time because the studio started filling up as I was leaving. It's located above the 7-Eleven plaza. There's a small parking lot but it's usually packed so I parked a block away. Lots of metered parking so it shouldn't be a problem. I came in for 3 ear piercings (2 cartilage + 1 tragus). Was honored to get them done by Kristi who's also the owner! It was quick and painless. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. She gave me a discount bringing the total to $150 (including the earrings), which is a lot cheaper compared to others I've seen. Will definitely be coming back for more! read more

Their artists are all wonderfully talented and sweet, and their flash sheets on their special events have a large variety of designs to please all tastes at low costs. I got my very first tattoo with Opal Tattoo there and she made the experience a very positive one, even though I am usually terrified of needles. For my most recent tattoo, I got it with Doll Face and she too made the experience very pleasurable, as I felt I could trust her with needles near my wrist, which is not something I can say about most medical staff to be honest. My friend and I decided last minute to get another ear piercing each! We called to this location and they told us they would have time if we got there within the next 30 minutes and thankfully we were nearby! We made it on time and we were greeted so wonderfully. I don't remember the girls name but she had blondish hair, tied up, half head shaved. She was wonderful!! Made us feel comfortable and answered all of our questions! We were obviously nervous but she talked us through it. The price was better than the other places I've called that day, some being double this price. There is a parking lot but it is shared with subway, 711, and other stores so it gets packed but there are plenty of side streets and meters. The shop is upstairs on the left of the parking lot! One of the best tattoo experiences I've had. I made my appointment with Zara (opal tattoo) to have a rib piece done and she was super sweet about the whole process and giving me a price estimate. She worked so fast (finished in less than an hour) and I barely felt a thing. This girl really knows what she's doing. She was nice enough to put some numbing spray after I told her that my other rib piece (done elsewhere) hurt and it helped out. Will definitely be coming back for future tattoos.
