Great little Korean restaurant on state street. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was great.

While in SLC, I swung in to pick up some Kimbap to go... Well, the place was just a makeshift eatery of sorts, but the service was very friendly. There weren't any Kimbap (sometimes spelled Kimbop or Gimbap/Gimbop) left on display, but they made them quickly while I waited...one of Bulgogi, and one of Tonkotsu. Atypical of most Kimbap orders (from H-Mart, for instance), these were just 8 pieces each...but then again, they were cheaper. Guess the only thing that bothered me is how these Korean rolled rice specialties were arranged in the To-Go Box/Tray. Why not just keep them on a roll (like most places)?? It just didn't seem sanitary to me. Anyway, by now, I've tried both Bulgogi and Tonkotsu versions, and must say that they were quite delicious. I liked the Tonkotsu even more than the standard Bulgogi. I also appreciated how they included some complimentary Yellow Radish. Still, I hate to break their perfect ratings on here, but I've got to be honest to myself. I was very put off by the "fingering" of the Kimbap. I would have loved it if the Kimbap stayed neatly on a roll (but just cut into 8 pieces). Just knowing that someone manually arranged them just eeeks me out a bit. For that, I can't rate more than 4 stars. Sorry! read more

This is a good fast food Korean restaurant. I've tried their mandu (dumplings), kimbap (Korean sushi-like rolls with rice and veggie and meat), and cube dishes. The cube comes in a kento/bento box-style plate and includes your choice of meat, rice, salad, and their daily side dishes (banchan). The beef bulgogi is very flavorful. My friend ordered the bibimbap which had a huge portion and looked really delicious - I'll try that next time. The cube portion was good for lunch but the portion size is small enough that someone with a bigger appetite would need an appetizer or a kimbap to fill up. I like the banchan, but you get whatever they have that day. I love japchae and wish they'd had it but I got a kimchi instead. Some tables inside if you'd like to dine-in but most people do takeout. Easy parking out front. This is nice for getting some fresh Korean food and not having to go all out at KBBQ to get your fix. I love seeing more Korean places in Utah and happy that Stun Cube is popular. read more

This is one of the best Korean restaurant we discovered recently and absolutely loved it!!! We have been craving Tteokbokki and Kimbap for quite sometimes. Saw this place while coming back from grocery and went inside to check. We were welcomed warmly and seated immediately after checking our temperatures. We ordered Beef Bulgogi Kimbap, Cheese Kimbap, Beef Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken Bulgogi, and Tteokbokki. The Beef Bulgogi is naturally sweet, but it wasn't overpowering. The Spicy Chicken Bulgogi had enough spice but it didn't overpower the delicious flavor. Not to mention that both Bulgogi dishes came with rice, salad, fruit, and several side dishes. The Kimbap were delicious and had the right amount of filling and rice. They were also enough to act as a meal themselves. Their Tteokboki was very generous with a full egg, sausages, and more than enough rice cakes. It was an incredible meal overall. It's a small place, but very clean. The customer service was also amazing and impressive. There were only two people managing the restaurant, but we did not have to wait long, and they regularly checked up on us. At one point they even noticed that the kids were struggling with the spicy Tteokbokki which they couldn't stop eating (ha ha haa), so they brought us two cold drinks...for free!! Such a wonderful place, we will definitely go back and recommend this place. read more

I really was excited to try Korean street food style food. Drove pretty far to try it based on reviews. Unfortunately I can only provide 2 stars. Ordered Kim Bap, Tteokbokki, Tonkatsu. Kim Bap was too much rice vs veg ratio. Lacking major salt and sesame seed oil so rice was very bland. Tteokbokki was completely watery and flavorless with the exception of being overly sweet. Tteokbokki is a balance of sweet and spicy. This dish we got almost felt they added too much Jochugang and they tried to offset it with too much sugar. Tonkatsu I as 3 stars alone and probably the only saving grace of our togo food order. Another thing that bothered me was when I placed the food order togo the worker asked for my Credit Card over the phone. Just my thoughts but I never understood how businesses who get your credit card manually over the phone keeps or properly discards your credit card info. When I explained I didn't like to provide my cc info she explained that many people have ordered and did not show up for their orders in the past. I totally get that but in the day and age of credit card fraud and identity theft I don't think the policy to ask for someone's cc info is the best method of ensuring someone is going to pay for their order if they don't show up. Most people would dispute the charge if they don't get their food and got charged. You can try this place but don't expect it to be authentic Seoul South Korean Street food. read more

I tried the Beef Bulgogi. I enjoyed it and I liked the fresh fruit and salad you get with it. My husband tried the Spicy Pork Bulgogi and I got a taste. It was flavorful and spicy but not to spicy. Tteokbokki was good but not as flavorful as I would have liked. I've had this dish once before at another local restaurant and there version was a flavor delight. I only got a picture of the beef. Stun cube got me stunned with happiness. Stun cube took over the Korean sushi place that use to be here and rightfully so. It's the best thing that have ever entered this area. The menu isn't that big, but it's all the best things on there. Think of this place as a quicky mart that serve Korean food. The wait time for food is never too long and everyone there is very friendly. There's this girl who would take your order with a huge smile. Two ladies who would cook the food just like a mom would for their kids. The kimbap (Korean sushi) is laid out. There's tons of drinks ready for you to consume and you can also buy cold food/side dishes out of the fridge. I definitely got their kimbap. I've tried the stun kimbap - a veggie only kimbap. It was delicious. I've even gave some to my coworkers and they loved it. Their Katsu kimbap was delicious as well. The chicken was nice and crunchy, the sweet and sour veggie go very well with it. Highly recommend. they do have a tuna one, but it never intrigued me, and I was hoping for a beef one, but they don't have it. I got their dokpokki with ramen and cheese (extra $). It was amazing. The dokpokki was nice and hot, perfect amount of soupy spiciness. The flavor was amazing. There was a lot of food too so I could hardly finish it. Adding ramen and cheese was the best idea ever! Not a lot of places serve dokpokki, but this is one I recommend. Their cube dishes are amazing too. It's a Korean bento box style of food. You chose your meat and rice, it will come with a side of veggie, kimchi, stew potato, and grapes. I've tried their beef bulgogi with their white rice. It was amazing. Highly recommend! The food is yummy. A great balance in their entrees--You got the meats, carbs, greens, and fruits. The pineapple was such a small addition but goes along way - delicious and refreshing. BEST dessert so far! We've had many shaved ice/snow tower/snow fluff/etc & this one takes the cake!! For $12 it's a bit pricey but well worth the QUALITY. It truly was 'fluff' with a la mode (ice cream) a ton of mango (fresh) that was soaked in a well done syrup that only added to it!! It made it clump into icy bits as it melted, so delightful! Plus there was a large portion of it. Husband & I were for the 1st time not feeling like we were rushing to have enough Spicy pork was well portioned with great amount of meat. Loved the bento style layout. Kimchi is really good & the glass noodles are well flavored. Gyoza was crunchy & delish. Appreciated the rice to filling ratio on the Stun Kimbap, great vegan option Tteokbokki is the only complaint I had; sauce was a bit watery & way too sweet for my liking. Mostly packed with rice noodles & 2 thin pieces of fish cake...TT_TT however, very much noticed & appreciated the boiled egg that was cooked perfectly; it was so soft & tender for a boiled egg. Love that this place exists in SLC. It was great being able to expand my palette. The tteok-bokki is advertised as spicy, but it really just had an excessive amount of chili flakes. I can handle spice, but this wasn't too pleasant. It was like a mouthful of chili flakes. Had they eased up on the amount, it could have been perfect! The kimchi rice was my absolute favorite. There's for sure a reason why this place has a 5-star rating on Yelp. I'm so picky when it comes to Korean food, and the food here reminds me of the home cooked meals I had living in Korea. The meals are complete, and they come with side dishes you can expect with each meal in Korea. Not to mention... everything is ridiculously cheap! I went with the spicy pork bulgogi, kimbap, and took home a large kimchi to go. I usually don't like most people's kimchi, but this kimchi was the best I've had in a really long time. I will for sure be there once a week to at least grab some lunch to go so that I can get some kimchi for my fridge! Please give these guys a shot. They're some of the most friendly people out there, and it's a nice mom and pop shop. They have multiple Korean drinks as well. I need to try some more of the take home Korean goodies. She ordered a vegetarian bibimbap and I got the fried chicken. First, can I say thank you to Stun Cube for hooking us up with a free order of fried mandu? I had some already at home to cook up fresh, but the restaurant took care of that for us as a courtesy. I did not try my girlfriend's dish but she did devour it pretty quickly, which tells me that it was good. (She's a beast when she's "hangry".) My fried chicken was not what I was expecting visually, but taste-wise it was good. The chicken looked more like what you'd find in General Tso dish from a Chinese restaurant. The sauce in the dish was more like a blend of the traditional General Tso spicy sauce and Korean spices. Still, it was a really tasty dish, even if not the traditional Korean fried chicken I'm used to. And the service was very quick. We didn't expect our dish to arrive at the house for a couple hours, but they arrived in half the time. For a guy dealing with a hangry girl, their expedience was truly appreciated. read more

I found a new, authentic Korean restaurant that is amazing! First off: the customer service is amazing! As soon as you walk in the door you're greeted with the warmest hellos. This gem is ran by a husband and wife. They're very passionate about their cooking and take pride in what they do. The wife does the cooking and the husband does the hosting. This is one of the many reasons I eat and shop local. You can't put a price on such a homie feeling. I ordered the number 3 (spicey pork bulgogi). I wish I had something funny to say about the name. We came in on a Saturday during lunch hour and I was surprised because it was empty! It came highly recommended but there was no one there. Only one other couple came as we ate. It was clean and quiet. I had the tteokbokki soup with ramen noodles added, and it wasn't to my taste - too thick and sweet.
