Came here to watch a football game with my boyfriend. We had plenty of space, and had a corner tv all to ourselves. The food was very good, and the menu offered a great variety of options. Now the bad--after we were seated, we were waiting over 30 minutes without a server so much as greeting us or getting our drink orders. I had to ask a busboy if we had a server. Note, the restaurant was NOT busy-maybe 1/4 of the tables were seated. Then, throughout the game, we were left with empty beverages for long periods, several times. Again, there were only 2 of us, and we were definitely not slamming our drinks. When we were ready to order food, we set our menus aside, and were left there again for upwards of 30 minutes waiting for our server to come take our orders. The waitress named Megan then reluctantly took our order and 20 minutes later told us that the kitchen lost our dinner order. I could see she was purposely being obtuse to our being there. The Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe has done a first class job at all of their ventures -- The Longhouse, the golf course, the casino, and the restaurants. This was my first time here since the renovations, and I'm impressed. The Reuben sandwich was good. My dining partner recommended the Cuban. Maybe I should have tried that since I always order Reubens. The service was very attentive, and it has a nice view. If I lived closer, this would be a good hangout. read more

It's too bad that this restaurant doesn't have more reviews because it's hard to find a good restaurant in Sequim and this was VERY good. It wasn't plain jane uninteresting. We are from Portland, OR where there are tons of great restaurants, so we had high expectations, and this hit the mark - based on what we had to choose from. 1. It has great atmosphere on the golf course - with lots of light and a beautiful view. 2. The people that work there are super nice with lots of enthusiasm and great service. 3. They have a great selection of beers on tap. 4. The food selection is varied, so there are lots of choices. 5. They also have great outdoor seating on their deck. We really wanted seafood and this hit the mark. (20 times better than the Bushwacker in Port Angeles). My husband had fresh salmon with an amazing ginger glaze and I had scallops with a delicious pomogranate reduction. The scallops were huge an prepared to perfection. I didn't want them to disappear. Both were served with wild rice and seasonal vegetables that were done to perfection as well. I would recommend Stymies in an instant and will definitely go again if we are ever back in the area. This menu is the same as the more formal restaurant that is adjacent, in the same building. But I much prefer the casual atmosphere of Stymies. ENJOY! I hope you check it out. read more

We were there yesterday for a late lunch around 2:35 on Valentine's Day. We have eaten there many times before. We both ordered cheese burgers (which were good), and you have the choice of fries etc, then for an additional $2.50 you can add a garden salad, which we each decided to add the salad for each of our meals. But, here's my beef as to why I'm giving only 2 stars: First, the french fries were dried out, but we didn't complain. However, even worse - when we received the bill we were overcharged an extra $1.00 each for each of our salads (a $2.00 overcharge total). We thought it was a simple mistake so we kindly asked for a correction. Our server was busy ringing up another parties meal, so we caught one of the other server's walking by and brought the overcharge to her attention. She looked at our bill and said, "That's weird." She then took the concern to our server at the register. Our server then came to our table and explained that $3.50 for each salad was correct, and had a confusing explanation of which still makes no sense! (Note: there was also no $3.50 salad on the menu). I responded with the fact that the menu states, $2.50 more for each salad, so why is it $3.50 more each salad on our bill? Her response, "I know it's confusing and the menu needs to be re-written, but trust me - you got better salads!" She then abruptly retreated to serving other customers. That was that! Well, if their menu needs to be re-written, in the meantime it states $2.50 more, not $3.50 more for a salad, so that's what it should be! We had a timely commitment so we departed without further discussion. I guess we should have taken $2.00 from her tip! End of rant! read more

We were in Sequim for a wedding and wanted to stop for a quick lunch. Stymie's is a little outside of town, but worth the drive as the grounds are gorgeous. We sat on the deck outside the bar and had a really nice lunch in the sun. The food was good, our waitress was super pleasant and helpful, and we were entertained by the golfers starting their games. Afterward, we walked around the grounds a bit and enjoyed the koi pond and totem pole. We'd go back if we're ever in Sequim again! read more

I have never had the urge to use yelp ever in my life.. until this god forsaken place pissed me off to the point to where I felt the need. It started off by the waitress sucking horribly as if she was new but she was at least 75 so she has some experience. Then we all order soup which had to have taken at least 45 minutes to get which is not okay in my opinion. Which we had to remind the old bat of THREE times. Then with the cherry on top THEY LOST OUR FOOD TICKET has anyone ever heard of that? No? I didn't think so. If I could give this place 0 stars I would but that is not an option with yelp. For your sake their are plenty of better options than this absolutely terrible establishment. Had a wonderful late lunch outside overlooking the golf course. We had the elk burger- delicious! And the grilled marmalade onions on top- yum! Had the carrot cake for dessert- dense, full of flavor, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange? Another hit at the table. Service was also great. Jess was friendly, personable - just delightful - we are from out of town and she shared some of her favorite places to visit around the area. So, we decided to check this place out after reading reviews on Yelp, and were very disappointed. First of all, we were told we would have to sit in the lower section because some of us were under 21, even though there were open tables in the upper part that weren't near the bar. In the lower section, there was only one open table and it was directly next to the live music (a couple guys with guitars) so we decided to sit outside. It was chilly, and they didn't turn the heaters on until about halfway through our meal, so we spent most of the time shivering a little. We ordered soup and salads, and the service was slow, slow, SLOW. They came out three times to tell us our salads were 'almost ready' but the second time, they asked which salad we'd ordered again. Almost ready? Had they even started making it? Once our food was delivered, the waitress never came back to check on us again. We ran out of drinks and finished out meal and had to wait quite awhile for our check to arrive. The food itself was alright, the chicken in my salad was quality and the dressing was good, but the food was not tasty enough to make up for the horrendous service. Skip this one. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! My family and I went there and was sitting in there for a very long time. I actually had to ask the waitress if our soups were coming soon. Waitress PATTY had a forced smile cause she had to go check. She brings a couple soups and we told her we were missing one. Then waited forever and had to get up again after while and ask is the other soup coming?? Then finally out comes the last soup, this is like 45-60 minutes waiting for soup. After again quite awhile I had to get up again. I have never gotten up so much to check in our food. Seriously ridiculous!!! I had to get up ask the manager where is our food. He said THEY LOST OUR FOOD TICKET. How do you lose our ticket???? Patty didn't even have the curiosity to come to the table and say sorry. She also is old enough to know better! Stymie's is one of the few places in Sequim that's likely to have something on the menu for everyone in your party. We've eaten there a handful of times, and in general, it's a 3.5 star kind of place - which I've rounded to 4 stars for the purpose of this review. Menu is diverse and while the food seems consistently good, I wouldn't declare it great. Remodel work has revamped the ambiance and increased kitchen capacity. Staff are typically friendly and attentive - although be aware of them trying to "up sell" food and beverage items. During a recent dinning experience, we arrived on a Tuesday night in October with a party of 6 plus 2 babies. We made the mistake of thinking that getting a table during the off-season wouldn't be a problem. Apparently, Tuesday night is prime rib night, and one of their most popular nights of the week. Nonetheless, the manager graciously worked with the staff to figure out where and how to accommodate our large party. We shared a few appetisers and ordered a number of the entrees. The meals and service at Stymie's have, in the past, been very good. Their burgers are great and their house made potato chip are yummy. This afternoon, however, my wife and I experienced an almost 50-minute wait for our lunch. Maybe they were busy you might think. They were not that busy. We have eaten there on a Friday night when it was packed and had service that was twice as fast as what we experienced today. I watched as three diners came in, ordered and were served before we were. We ordered the fish and chips, a cuban sandwich and two beers around 10:55. The server was prompt taking our order and our beers arrived quickly. At 11:15 our meal still hadn't arrived. By 11:30 the server stopped by to apologize for the delay. It wasn't until 11:45 that our meal arrived. The fish and chips were good. Little breading and plenty hot. My cuban however was less impressive. Now, I've had cuban's when I was in Miami many years ago so I know what to expect. The turkey was still cold and the poblano mayo couldn't be detected and the 'cajun' mustard was just dijon mustard. The bill came to $45 for lunch. I think it will be a while before we go back. Which is too bad. read more

Try their blackberry pie. Remlinger Farms is about a six compared this this pie. There is an inch and a half of blackberries.This filling had the perfect sweetness. The server apologized for frozen blackberries. I imagine somewhere in that kitchen Stymies has a freezer reserved exclusively with an 11 month stock of local blackberries. A week later I was lunching at Chambers Bay and saw blackberry pie on the menu. Couldn't say no. Doesn't hold a candle. read more
