This was my first time at an indoor mini golf place. My little cousin wanted to come here and I was a little surprised it was indoors. Took me a bit to get used to it. I think this place was mostly for the kids. The course was just right for them but not challenging enough for adults. It's small. That's why I give it a 3-star rating however the prices are cheap. You can basically see the whole course when you're walking in which was nice because I was able to keep an eye on her. read more

This place is a cute addition to the neighborhood. Gave this place a chance and was surprised at how much fun Vee and I had here. I would suggest coming here on a weeknight since weekends can get super busy. I'm sure I would have done better if I didn't have 3 couples behind me waiting to put. Ok, maybe I just suck. The courses are really fun to play and they're challenging. I was on one hole for almost 15 minutes. My little boy enjoyed very much.

Super chill, awesome date night adventure. The price is right and the 18 holes are just long enough to get through without getting too frustrated! :) I found the last ones to be a bit more difficult. The mini replicas are cute. When you are done with the course, you can go upstairs and play pool, video games, or my personal favorite-- skee ball. This place is a lot like Urban Putt in San Francisco. Very cool and fun indoor course. Art is very impressive capturing the bay area. We went here on a Saturday night and it's Glow in the Dark night! 18 holes for $10. You get a glow stick and a glow in the dark golf ball. They also have an arcade as well as a pool table area. We played pool and it's $5 for 30 minutes. Overall, it's reasonably priced and a fun activity for all ages! read more

Subpar is a great indoor miniature golf course, which my kids love. The addition of the slot cars last year gave us an additional reason to come to Subpar! It can be noisy when it's crowded, but the designs of the holes (all locally themed) a make a trip here worth it! read more

Awesome little spot! I enjoyed all the SF themed holes. Maybe a little pricey for mini golf (I believe it was about $9 per person) but worth it to play once. Can take awhile to finish a hole, but the girl behind the counter said we could go in any order, so we didn't have to wait at every hole. Would highly recommend to try once. read more

I have walked by this a few times and finally decided to go inside with my husband. I am so glad we did. The 18 holes are quite imaginative with most being fairly simple and a few being quite challenging. Fun for all ages. The place was clean and everyone was having fun. They have party room to the side and arcade games up stairs. We did the slop cars after golfing. I admit it got old after 10 minutes but I wanted to at least try it. I am glad I did as I could young kids would love trying to outrace each other. I see people mentioned they got a $1 off if they checked in at Facebook. No one offered me that even thought I automatically checked in as I usually do with places I go. $28 paid for 2 rounds of mini golf and 2 sessions with the slot cars. We were there almost 1-1/2 hours. KUDOS to the folks that designed the holes. Truly imaginative to have so many Bay Area landmarks. I was truly impressed. read more

This is the type of place that allows you and your guests to be the focal point of your time. In other words, it has a semi-industrial feel and is not branded to the t. Places like Dave and Buster's or Vegas seem to be marketing to you up the yin yang so that you feel like they are talking to you into your next trip there, and not allowing you to just exist in the present moment. But Subpar lets you get engrossed and engaged in your game and your party. It is easy on your brain and wallet. There are little benches at each area for the mobility impaired/tired ones and/or folks who just want to keep score (on a witty little scorecard). read more

My son and I dropped in one Saturday and had an amazing time. It was really fun, super chill and the art was rerally cool. The staff was friendly, the joint was clean and not filled with grumpy so-and-so's trying to rush you along. It's hard to find a good mini-golf place in the Bay, these days. Went here on a date. It was fun, the courses were cute but densely packed. If a lot of people turn out, I bet it would get crowded fast. Definitely worth checking out, but I think I'd only go once or twice. read more

My family went to Subpar on a Friday night. It's a rather challenging mini golf course and all of the holes are a Bay Area landmark. This was the first time I have ever played miniature gold inside, and it was fun. My daughters are both in high school and they enjoyed it too. The music in the background was a great touch, although it was commercial radio. They even have pool, foosball, skeeball, and a few arcade games upstairs. They need to install some a/c - it was a very warm evening so it was HOT inside, and they need to get Sirius or Spotify to stream some music, but it's a fun place and a very cool idea. read more

Not worth your time or money. I'm rather surprised at the positive reviews i see. I wasnt going to post anything until i noticed the owner's response to his first negative review. Did he really make a private email public and call a customer a "liar" ? I dont blame her for not humoring you with a response. You should have offered a free round of golf for her and her family with an apology explaining that you have made and are trying to make more improvements and left it at that. You obviously have no customer service experience. That being said, i must agree with her review. short holes, terrible layout, terrible design, and ancient arcade games that must have been bought last minute on e bay. claiming that most holes can be made in 2 and some holes have a hole in one chance must not count the 10 mulligans it took to get one to stay on the putting surface. The comparison to golfland in castro valley is absolutely rediculous. Golfland is 10 times bigger, the holes are more than 5 feet long and they have an actual arcade. with tickets. and prizes. and the holes have waterfalls, and color, and as the owner himself said, .50 cheaper. The bad minigolf experience brought me to yelp. The owners defensive and unproffesional comments brought me to register and post this review. For the same price, I would highly recommend the golden tee, bowling or a movie instead. read more

Subpar Mini Golf really has a lot of potential to be a great place for families and groups of friends to gather for a fun time! The course is fun for adults and kids alike. If you make reservations in advance (one week in advance) then you can get a group discounted rate of $5 per player as long as there is only one transaction to pay. I was a little disappointed because this information wasn't communicated to me when I called trying to plan an event. In the end it all worked out and they did accommodate my party which we appreciated. read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed Subpar before. We're been going since it opened and celebrated two birthdays at Subpar. It is my son's happy place. They are in a great location and seem to be open when all else is closed. The holes and the murals are forever improving and are enjoyable for kids and adults. The best! read more

Even sixty year old good golfers can enjoy this place! Two of us had a fantastic afternoon here. YES, it's still in progress, but guess what? That makes it all the more fun. We had read about it in the newspaper (that fact alone shows our age!). The holes are each based on Bay Area landmarks and they are whimsical and wonderful. And some of them are HARD, even for decent-handicap golfers. There are tons of improvements in process, and we can only wish the proprietors the best of luck because they have a gem of a place here. Ok, if you really have nothing better to do. Dirty and old looking although it's relatively new. Freezing cold inside. Was there with a work group and didn't have to pay, but believe me, I wouldn't have paid the full price. My kids would have been bored. Arcade games upstairs are lacking if they even seem to work.
