A solid place to get sandwiches Pros: Good variety of sandwiches Good prices. You can get Cuban in 6/9/12 inch lengths Friendly /efficient service. One of the guys who works there looks JUST like actor Miles Teller. Cons: Most of the glass bottle sodas are in the $3 range. They don't have Jupina for some strange reason. The Cuban is ok. I am by no means a Cuban sandwich expert but the meats used are different compared to WTSS and other South Tampa places. Getting a sandwich pressed is 50 cents extra. Their sandwiches seem to get cold really fast. (I live exactly 1 mile from here so distance is not the issue) If you want a Cuban near USF, this isn't bad. But I'm looking for one in North Tampa on the level of the south side. read more

I want to start by saying I never usually leave reviews on here. I'm from Orlando but working in Tampa for the week and decided to stop by subs-n-such for lunch. THIS PLACE IS DELICIOUS and a MUST stop place if you're in the area. The subs are phenomenal (as they've been around for over 30 years), they have unmatched selection of different sodas (many rare options), and the customer service was outstanding. I dropped half of my sub on the floor accidentally and they refused to charge me for remaking the other half. I had a cuban and an Italian, DELICIOUS. The employees there were VERY nice. They felt extremely welcoming. The decor compliments that as well. Its very laid back and pretty cool to see all the bottles they collect. As i write this im eating the Italian about 10 hrs after i got it. STILL DELICIOUS. Now if i ate it when i got it, EVEN BETTER. If you like fresh sandwiches or just wanna grab a soda there, they have a WIDE variety. Jarritos (i cant spell), root beers, overall just a really cool selection. I can not stress enough how good these sandwiches are. For a drink, a 12 ft cuban, and a brownie (it seems like a fresh made brownie since its wrapped in nothing but plastic wrap) for about $13-$14. Because the soda selection here is better than the Coke Museum in Atlanta. --- --- --- I guess the "Such" in Subs N Such stands for Simply Unmatched Carbonation Heaven My Cuban was great, do not get me wrong...but this place has the most wide spread selection of soda's I have ever seen. I settled on a Black Cherry and a Sarsaparilla. They were both awesome. How could you not enjoy something that's called Sarsaparilla? And, if you think I had to Google the spelling of that word, you are 100% correct. I wonder how they manage to carry such a vast selection, but I hope they are able to continue their tradition! Subs and such serves up some of the best sammies around. They also have a very large and unique soda selection and have some of the sweetest sweet tea around. All around good food and definitely worth a visit! Only downfall to this business is that they charge extra to butter press a sandwich. read more

Recently moved into the area and kept driving by the plaza that Subs N Such is located. Finally stopped in awhile back and so happy I did. Definitely my new sandwich shop! I absolutely love this place. It's a true treasure... but I got a cheese steak today that was warmed up in a microwave! How does this happen?? They used to have a flat top grill and make as good a cheese steak as anywhere. But today wasn't by any stretch anything near decent. Still giving four stars based on past performance... but next time I'm getting the meatball sub. Also bonus points for the most amazing soda collection anywhere. Brought home a couple different kinds of root beer today, and will often get the orange cream sodas they have in quantity as well. If you can name it, this place has it. I used to eat here all the time when I was in college. Still hits the spot! Best Cuban sandwich in USF area and very reasonable prices. Although the curb appeal is "meh", don't sleep on the hole-in-the-wall sandwich and soda shop. I get the Cuban almost every time (their hoagies are really good too) - nothing better than the crisp, buttered and pressed Cuban bread (IMO). Incredible soda selection - if you crave an ice-cold Root Beer or Cream Soda in a bottle, this is the place! Can't say enough, I hope Subs-N-Such lasts forever! read more

Great sandwiches today!!!! We had pressed Cuban and deli combo( corn beef and pastrami). Both were very good and bread was fresh. The large selection of sodas makes it hard to decide which to try. The large collection of commemorative coke bottles and soda signs give you plenty of fun things to look at. All of which are also for sale. We have eaten here on and off for many years. YASSSSS! I drive past this place on the way to work everyday and have never stopped UNTIL this woman I work with brought in a cuban and my life changed forever. SO let's get down to it: The smell was what attracted me.I swear if she would have left that sandwich alone with me I would have grabbed it and took it down town just based on how good it smelled. If you pass between Sumterville & anywhere south on I-75 without stopping by here, you are missing out of one of the true gems of Florida. One of the largest soda collections in the South, the sandwiches here are insane. Half the ingredients of a Subway and 1000x the taste. Happened upon Subs N Such in college when I was living in Campus Lodge -- Not in the best location (off Livingston) so most people would probably keep driving unless they knew someone who recommended it (that's why I'm here). What a hidden gem though! Their steak n' cheese is my personal fave, but every sub I've tried was really good. If you like Subway, you won't like it here because your taste buds have already been ruined :). For someone who can appreciate a good sub, give it a try...oh and as previous reviewers have mentioned, they have a pretty big selection of micro-brew type sodas from around the country. Absolutely greatest Sammie joint in town! They use quality ingredients and make some truly superior sandwiches. The Cuban is by far the best I've found in Tampa. Real Cuban bread that is crusty and chewy and harder to find in a sandwich shop in Tampa than you would think. And if you're game to try new and interesting sodas you will have no end of fun with their selection. A great sub place. Definitely one of the better ones near the University and College Apartments. This place is famous not only for their subs, but for their collection of soda bottles. Here you can find a historical arrangement of Coca-cola and Pepsi glass bottles, and they are available for sale. The food is delicious as well. the average price for a sub is about $6.00, and a bottled soda ( I had an RC) would set you a dollar and change. The cubans here are really good,with real bread, great ingredients, and their plethora of drinks make it a more interesting trip. It's a fair deal too. Today a friend mentioned to me he was hungry and wanted to eat a sandwich. To which I replied, any sandwich or the best darn sandwich in the Greater USF area? You mean a Publix sub? He said with great glee. I returned a slight chuckle at his naive attempt to impress me with his limited local sandwich knowledge. I took him under my wing and said come with me boy, I'll will teach you things today that you may one day have the privilege of passing down to your own children. So hence forth we went to Subs n Such. Instantly we are greeted by hands down the most friendly staff in the state (note I verified this through a doctoral research paper)(also note, they immediately expelled me from said college for being a maroon). Nevertheless, he ordered a Cuban and a super large pop, I had the roast beef, MelloYello, and some chips (Dirty Brand Chips). Two bites in I see his eyes well up with man tears, he places his palm over my hand and simply whispers thank you, thank you.
