At this subway, you'll find a disgusting old lady that sits in the corner and yells at her customers and employees. I've been to this location a few times, only ever received the poorest service and quality. And today is officially the last time. I genuinely cannot stand this old pre historic prick manager, that practically lives at one of the tables. She sits there, and will give you gross attitude for anything you do. Luckily I have no worries seeing this old raison in public as she has no life outside of her sandwich reality! DO NOT GO TO THIS SUBWAY. They charge an arm and a leg but service quality is significantly sloppy. The "hot" sandwiches are cold, they put them in the toaster and quickly take it out so you don't see it, then when you get home you open it, sandwich isn't even hot and cheese isn't melted and cold sandwiches are just sh!+, I live in the same town so I've given it a few chances. A couple years ago it was excellent but now its all about quantity over quality. If the owner is reading this, PLEASE either get all new staff that care about their jobs or shut it down. At this subway in La'ie, I felt rushed & misunderstood. When I walked in there was a couple ahead of me and another guy. The young lady wearing the red Kahuku shirt was not friendly at all. She asked what I was getting. I responded the Black Forest Ham in a salad. She was like a salad. I said yes. She tossed the ham in the bowl and slid it down. She moved on to the guy behind me. Asking him what sub she can make for him. He asked what she recommends. That was funny because she didn't know. He pointed to the menu and said he wanted his sub to look just like the picture. We both stayed laughing. Another young lady shows up, she works on my salad. Simple right, I don't need much just lettuce, ham, cheese & Bacon chopped. She was much nicer than the 1st young lady. I'm not going to say anything that hasn't already been said by others. I'll just give it to you straight here. If you're staying around Laie and you want a break from food trucks, this is a decent option. Subway is never super impressive. It is what it is. You know the food will be mediocre, but at least it's not deep fried. If you're looking for a good customer service experience, this isn't your spot. The older lady who I believe is the manager here is pretty darn rude. I had an unpleasant experience with her on my visit and went to leave a review...I was not at all surprised to see I wasn't alone. She just doesn't seem to have much aloha to spread...and that's pretty sad. End of the day though - if you want a sub...they've got them here. ‍ Just know going in that the manager is not a friendly human and order a white chocolate raspberry cookie to balance the experience out (those cookies are actually pretty dope). read more

First & last visit. Prices were expensive, so I didn't order a sandwich, but asked for two $2 sliders, but was told they don't carry them despite the slider sign you see when you line up to order. So, I asked for a 6" meal w/ chips & small drink. Filled up cup at the soda machine w/ Coke, which was flat & not sweet. As I attempted to empty & fill w/ Dr. Pepper, the manager came over & stopped me. She told me to look at the nondescript gray COVID sign - refills weren't allowed anymore. "But my drink tasted horrible." Her response, "I'm gonna charge you if you want a 2nd cup because you had to tell me beforehand to get a free cup." As I walked out the door telling her I'd never come again, she testily said, "It's called 'educating my customers'," to which I replied, "No, it's called treating your customers poorly." The rudest Subway I have ever been to. Because of quarintine, the line is outside, so I was waiting outside because they were helping a customer in front of me. When that person was done I asked if I could come in they said they just closed. It just turned 8:01, one minute past closing. I came in a couple days later, and they were so busy rolling their eyes, bad mouthing customers, and complaining amongst themselves, they didn't mark my sandwhichs or cut the footlongs. read more

I visited early last year but the experience still bothers me. I usually don't post poor reviews but I don't know if the girl was almost done with work and wanted to get out of there or just a horrible worker... Girl who "helped" me and my husband was plain rude to me. She was sweet and nice to my husband but treated me like I didn't exist. I tried to ask her about Gluten-Free options, but she just ignored me. My husband had to talk for me since she didn't want to hear me. She couldn't answer the basic "how much is a bread-less 'sub'?" Franchises in general are awesome because the food quality and service is consistent and up to par with corporate standards as this Subway was. We placed an online order that wasn't scheduled to be ready until 9:00p, we arrived about 8:50p and the counter staff had it ready to go. The cashier shared they refunded part of the payment because the chocolate chip cookies I ordered were sold out and she gave me complimentary macadamia but cookies instead. I also needed to add on a few last minute items and even though they were getting ready to close the cashier politely accommodated our order. Wow! So many bad ratings. Now I am adding mine. I go often because I have no other options for a Deli Sandwich on the North Shore. They have no competition and that is reflected in their customer service. I went today and was surprised there was no line. But there was also no service. After waiting for about 5 minutes, with two employees talking to each other, I left. I am certain that neither of the employees really cared and from all of the bad reviews that I see here on Yelp, the Management does not care either. Wait 20 minutes for two foot longs and two soups Then they stare at you like you are crazy if you need change for 100 for a 30 dollar order. Tell you you can't use that. They told me to leave and come back when I had right change. After watching at least 100 dollars worth of sandwiches be made while I'm ordering. Ordered a meal with a large drink and because it was a hot day i took a small drink of water out of the cup. They then stopped me from getting my actual drink because of no refills. Not only did they not tell me or have a sign posted, but they said i would have to buy a whole new one. If it was for the pandemic they could have just given me a new one and i throw the old one out. Just went here and the lady that looks like a man was sooo rude. She was yelling at the young man who was trying to do his job. He was not the fastest worker but to yell at him while customers were inside the store was uncalled for. The older white lady should not be working in customer service. I ordered a spinach wrap with turkey pepperoni and bacon. She tried to tell me it was going to be $6 each for bacon and pepperoni added. I opted out because that's more than the wrap itself. (I've ordered this before at a different location with no issues) then she just shoved it to the other employee and I asked if I could have it heated, the older lady told me "we don't toast wraps." I've gotten it warmed before. She also told the lady in front of me she didn't ask for her bacon extra crispy when I even heard her say she did. She mumbled to another employee something about the lady while cooking the bacon an extra time. Very un professional. The other employees look like they hate working with her as well. This old lady yelled at me for getting some water out of the drink dispenser. She was apparently angry because, quote , "covid". Like what? I cant grab some more water after eating my sandwich?? The covid rules on the island are all basically gone. But apparently it's illegal to get WATER twice?! What a joke. Because of work I'm always out and about for lunch. Most of the time I like subway, and a majority I visit are in town. Not my kind of scene, plus the friendliness factor goes way down there. But this subway was great! My "Sandwich Artist" was very friendly, even as to ask me what my plans were for the day! Which I thought was nice. Although I know the routine for all subways should be the same, this one seemed to go above and beyond the regular order. The staff was extremely friendly and the place was every clean! Sure last year was weird but that was during major covid restrictions and pretty much the whole planet was weird. Needed a little break from food truck food so I decided to go to subway for a light lunch. Upon entering my wife was taking a drink from her water bottle and didn't have her mask glued to her face. Immediately an older lady sitting in the corner(assuming owner/manager) rudely demanded that she must put her mask on. Seeing the reducirlos nature of this I spoke up and asked if she takes her mask off to drink ( being that she had a water bottle sitting right in front of her). She then stated we are not allowed to eat or drink in the store itself. After further evaluation I see no such signs other than a take out only sign. There were so many other ways to handle this. Seems like a very unhappy lady and consequently what appears to be a very low morale working environment. Food was as expected from subway. Just an average sandwich. If you know me, you know I might have a slight addiction...scratch that, you know I have a major obssession with Subway. We're talkin a serious relationship here. I've learned that not all Subways are created equal. Not everyone has the same toppings, same sandwiches, and most in Hawaii don't have soups! Ordered online for lunch, since I only have a half hour and do not have time to wait in line at subway. Got back to work with three subs, and one of them had NO MEAT on it. When I called the excuse was sorry we were busy. And I could come back in then and get a refund. Well if I had time to come back in I would get a new freaking sub. Then the woman on the phone said we can't bring you a sub, we don't have Insurance for that...great no one asked you to. I am looking for how you can rectify the situation with out me having to come back in there. I call back later and ask to talk the the manager and she told me well we offered you a refund on you sandwich if you would have come back in then, and we already told you we could not drive it to you. Ma'am, no one asked you to bring me my damn sub, but I also can't come back in to get my money back. She then accused me of lying saying it was my idea to bring the sub out. I came in today at 2pm on the 26 of July. My girlfriend and I ordered foot longs. The way our sandwiches were made was terrible. There was mayo all over the wrapper of my girlfriends sandwich but wen she took it out of the wrapper it literally just fell apart. I normally come here but refuse to after my experience tonight. I had such horrible customer service I lost my appetite and can't even eat. I had some coupons that I got from midweek. They stated buy one 6 inch get one free with the purchase of a medium drink. I was buying 7 sandwiches. 1 footling and 6 six inches. I read the coupons and they said "one coupon per transaction" at other Subways the cashier always let's me just ring up my sandwiches separately. While I was in line another guest was holding sandwiches already and had a young child. She saw my coupons and told me the manager made her get back in line to use her other coupon bc it is "one per customer" I read the terms and conditions out loud and it said one coupon per transaction not per customer. And how are you magically a new customer if you stand back in line for 10-15 minutes waiting?? I ordered my sandwiches and the manager at the cashier register "Aunty Noe" saw my coupons and said I was only allowed to use one at a time and I would have to get back in line to use each additional coupon- this after my sandwiches were already made. I asked her if she could just ring up the sandwiches separately and she refused to. I was shocked at how aggressive she was at me just for wanting to use more than one coupon. It would have been fine if she was nice about it, but she raised her voice at me. I told her it doesn't say per customer but per transaction on the coupon but she said " our rules are per customer." Which still doesn't make sense. I decided to let it go and pay. When I noticed she never marked my sandwiches for me ( which other subways do automatically) I asked her to label them and she refused to bc I didn't ask her to to begin with. Again I let it go. She said in a rude tone my total of more than $40 when I asked her which sandwich I got for free. She said, "I gave you a 6 inch pastrami" which I thought was nice. But then I looked at my receipt and saw instead of charging me for one of my foot long pastramis she charged me for two separate 6 inches!! So basically charged me more than I would have had to pay without a coupon. I asked her why she rang me up for two separate 6 inches when it was a foot long and told her I would prefer her to ring up my sandwiches correctly and give me one of my actual 6 inches for free. Aunty Noe said she would have to ring me up all over again. I said fine. Then she made up a lie about how Subway automatically chooses the most expensive and you get it for free... Which is bull bc I used to work at Subway and the policy is to always give the cheaper sandwich free. She basically ripped me off and with horrible service. I seriously wanted to make sure i wasn't screwed over but decided to let her have her victory bc she is obviously on a power trip to make people wait in line again to use more than one coupon, not label your sandwiches for you and then think she can get away with charging you for 2 six inches when you buy a foot long. Aunty Noe I don't care if you own this place... I don't care if you are the only subway in Laie... I am never coming back here and I have been coming here When I left I gave away the rest of my coupons to people in line... So wether she likes it or not... She's getting my coupons. I love the sandwiches but if you use coupons the customer service from aunty noe is degrading and disrepectful. "Oh shame aunty noe". We come here often after church and for the last 4 months the toaster over has not been working the bread is stale and the cheese is hard and it's beginning to be a junk experience there. the manager said every time we use the toaster oven it shuts off the whole store.
