Turkey Porchetta
Maddie M.

Wonderful sandwiches! We ordered the Turkey Porchetta and the V Land. Never heard of Turkey Porchetta style but it was delicious. The focaccia was wonderful, crispy and flavorful. I only wish there was some kind of acid like balsamic or lemon in the sandwich just to cut through. Overall this sandwich was great and I would order it again. We also god the V Land and added provolone. Once again, delicious! I only wish there was more eggplant in this sandwich but once again, overall would order this sandwich again - will be coming back to the corner deli!

WOW! Finally a sandwich shop in Kahuku! This place has a great menu with some bomb sandwiches. Portion was hefty and you can tell the ingredients are quality. Tastes local. It's a pretty good deal for the sandwich, chips and a drink for $15. You can't even get Subway that cheap Overall 10/10! Can't wait to see if they incorporate some sort of charcuterie to their menu.. would be great right next to the Kahuku Beer Garden. Just sayin!

Italian supremo

Got the Italian supremo and it was pretty good. Focaccia was a little burnt so that was a bummer but still tasted good and had a decent amount of meat other than the prosciutto, which was pretty much non-existent. A little pricy but it comes with a drink, chips, and a pickle so not too bad. Hopefully they will adjust their hours but right now they're only open from noon-7:30 which makes no sense. I'm sure I'm not alone with wanting to grab lunch a little before noon a lot of the time so I definitely won't be coming back here as much as a result.

Pastrami on freshly house-made focaccia! Comes w/ Maui style chips & dill pickle spear. "The Corner Deli" sandwich shop, Kahuku Sugar Mill.

Kahuku Sugar Mill just got another delicious food option: "The Corner Deli", a walk-up and order at the window sandwich shop sandwiched (pun intended) between The Country Eatery and The Beer Garden. I think they literally just opened days ago. So we had to stop by on our way to The Country Eatery and get their slow smoked pastrami sandwich, which is AMAZING. The pastrami is just how I like it, meaty, thinly sliced, with just the right ratio of fat to meat, not too stringy, not chewy, with the perfect balance of smokiness and marinade. The slaw on the sandwich was so good, I could totally eat it on its own. The sandwich usually comes with rye bread; but when Brendan told me the focaccia bread is made DAILY IN-HOUSE (!!!) I chose to have it on focaccia. I could hardly wait to get home quickly to eat it with my Country Eatery kombucha and it was incredible. I am so happy right now. My tummy is so satisfied. I can't wait to share it with my husband who always orders pastrami from a good deli. He's been waiting for a good deli sandwich shop on the north shore for a long while. So happy now! Brendan is an awesome sandwich chef and I'm very excited about this cute walk-up sandwich shop! Next time I want to try the BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato) sandwich (I love a good BLT and the bacon I saw from the window looks like it is thick cut and crispy, my favorite). I hope The Corner Deli gets lots of business because we wanna hang on to this great sandwich shop! Service was fast, and plenty of outdoor seating, including next door at the Beer Garden (open seating for all).

Pastrami sandwich For 19 bucks this was more like a cabbage sandwich. Both halves of sand Wich had like three little pieces of pastrami

We drove up to get there just before noon on a Saturday. It was rainy, so the numbers were a bit light in the area, but there were still thirteen people in line when the truck opened for business. The owner was fun, friendly, and engaging the customers in conversations while prepping the food. There are times when I think some food truck owners take on the role of a short order cook and get annoyed that you don't understand "how" you're supposed to order; that was certainly NOT the case here. You just need to decide if you want a hot or regular sandwich and whether you want bleu cheese or special sauce. We got one hot and one regular, but the chicken is HUGE and two adults can easily share one sandwich. I'm torn, because while we would probably order just one sandwich next time, I also want to support the business and get two. The chicken was as good as everyone told us and had incredible crispy batter. The fries though...those were maybe the best I've ever had. I don't normally love the double cooked style fry, but could live off those and never get tired of them. FYI...we took ours to eat at the Beer Garden about 100 yards to the west and that's a winning combo.

He gives excellent clear directions on how to order your sandwich. I love that the concept is simple. Order the number of sandwiches you need for your party. Do you want spicy or not? (Spicy is delicious and not too spicy at all.) Do you want blue cheese sauce or "dat sauce" which is like fry sauce? No drinks available so bring your own or take it to the beer garden nearby and get an adult beverage. Cash or Venmo only. The price is $20 for a huge chicken sandwich, delicious fries, and your side of sauce along with a cup of ketchup. My sandwich was MASSIVE. Honestly, you could split with another person--but I always want my own. Well worth the drive out to get it. Saturdays and Sundays only; check his Instagram for updates.

We were welcomed into the small hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a neighborhood strip mall by a young woman named Telani. Telani could not have been more excited to tell us everything there was to know about the entire menu and the history of the family who owned it. Telani was so genuinely interested in us and asked question after question that made us feel like we were celebrities that had just walked into a small town diner. Telani is the star of this story, but I want to mention that the other two employees left a positive impression as well, amazing service is clearly a culture at this restaurant. Our shake took a little longer than usual because they were accommodating a young boy with a severe peanut allergy. At the end of our meal, Telani walked over and handed us a personalized postcard that she had written to commemorate our visit! This 17-year-old medical student at BYU Hawaii just put my own customer service expectations to absolute shame. I cannot wait to get back to my hotel staff and share this story and hopefully inspire them to start writing some postcards of their own. I've just finished writing one of my own. P.S. All the food was AMAZING! We got the Shez's paniolo burger, the Sterlings teriyaki burger, the paniolo fries, the banana bread, and a vanilla shake with Nutella and Oreo. Gonna have to hit the hotel treadmill hard tomorrow.
