I was told to come in for an interview today at 9am. I showed up early, (as one does trying to find employment,) so around 8:55 am. No one was there, and they open at 9. The GM did not show up until 9:11am. She then blamed her staff not coming in to open, so she has to do the opening, and to give her a few minutes. It is now 9:22am, and I am still waiting.... REGARDLESS of who was supposed to open. SHE told me as the gm SHE would be here at 9. This is super unprofessional, and very telling of how she treats staff. Based on other recent reviews. I HIGHLY recommend not taking your business to this location. Update: she let me in after making me wait outside until 9:30, tried to ask for my order instead of greeting for an interview. When I tell her that's what I'm here for, she has me sit down to write down my contact info. A long, long time ago, my parents owned a Subway. It was hard, demanding work and often hard to find good help so we ran it mostly ourselves. It was a family business. You were always on your feet and always busy with making sandwiches, checking ingredients, stocking ingredients in the color, attending the soda machine, and baking bread. My feet were always tired. When I come to this particular Subway, I am always greeted by the owner who is an older foreign lady. Today her grandson and her were working and it reminded of and my family. This is franchised business which this immigrant family has invested good money in. It's a family business despite it being a franchise. I always get good service and the owner always says a couple of words abs seems generally happy. Most people won't understand what is involved with being an owner and how demanding it is, but I do. I have enjoyed all my sandwiches which are made with care and place is kept relatively clean and the service is quick and the ingredients haven't been kept out beyond their due date. Place is dingey and the sandwiches don't turn out like their images at all. Ingredients are pretty pale and chintzy. I almost didn't post this because it's clear to any viewer that this location is already in poor shape, but the experience was noteworthy enough for me to share and my hope is that the owner may become motivated to improve the conditions. The sandwich artist who helped us was very friendly, helpful, and thorough about their job, but the store itself and the quality of ingredients was more than lackluster. The lettuce was old and brown, the spinach wilted, and the bread was so stale I couldn't chew the ends. You know that smell? when you walk into a subway, fresh out of the oven bread/bakery smell? Hmmm. Well, you won't get it that at this location. Vegetable ingredients for sandwiches were not fresh and looked brown, wilty and generally unappetizing, bread was incredibly hard and disgustingly stale. Service however was good, hence one star otherwise not worth $10/sandwich or that friendly smile. Run, there are better alternatives who make sandwiches with fresh ingredients and restaurant cleanliness and this place is not it. read more

This subway just keeps going downhill. I've been coming here for years. Last time I went the owner charged me a different price than what the menu on the wall said. Then she walked into the back room and wouldn't open the door to the employee knocking on the door. Then the employee told me he couldn't do anything and was sorry. The employee turnover is crazy here. I've had employees tell me the owner isn't very good to work for. If you want subway skip this location. I've been here several times because I live so close and it's convenient. But this is my last time. Bread is always stale and the owner is incredibly rude to her employees. I've never seen the same employee in there twice, and it's no surprise. She won't honor any coupons or National deals. Bait and switch. She is aggressive, rude and doesn't care about the customer at all. I'll go to Gene's Deli just up the street or JJ's cafe and support people that aren't angry, RUDE, greedy owners. This subway is across the street from work, so it's convenient to stop by during my lunch break. The first few visits I would go with a co worker and we would each order a 6 inch sub and a drink. The pricing here seems a little outrageous considering I paid $16 for two six in subs and one small fountain drink. The last two visits were the worst as I brought in a buy ANY sub get one free of equal or lesser value coupon to use with a friend. The Russian lady who owns this store told me I could only use the coupon for a 6 inch sub. The coupon says ANY size sub so I wanted to get a 12 inch sub to get a better value. She argued with me at the front desk, called corporate to get "an approval" of some kind, although she is the owner and could override the computer herself. After about ten minutes of waiting at the counter and holding up the line, she finally rung us up and let us get the 12 inch subs, with purchase of a drink. I went back yesterday with another coupon I received for a buy ANY 6 inch sub for $6 today only. My friend who is also a part of the subway rewards program had the same coupon so we went to take advantage of the $3 sub. As I went to the register to pay for mine the owner tried telling me that I had to buy a drink in order to get the sub for $3. Fine, anything to just sit down and enjoy my lunch. My friend however showed his coupon to her, and she told him his sandwich didn't qualify for the $3 sub... After the sandwich was already made and she knew we each had s coupon. The coupon says in caps ANY 6 inch sub. He ended up paying $7 for his sandwich. Do yourself a favor and drive one mile down the road to the Tigard subway. Bait and Switch shop. They don't honor any national advertisements or coupons. There is no way to tell they don't honor coupons until you're already at the register and then they try to make it feel like it's your fault they don't honor coupons! The employees are nice and seem sincerely embarrassed by the owner's rude behavior toward customers. You'll get what you pay for here. Don't expect anything beyond an average sandwich and don't expect them to carry any of the great deals or sandwiches you see on TV. Even the $5 foot long advertisements aren't honored. I don't know why they even call it Subway if they don't participate in the promotions. It's just an average sandwich place. You can get a better sandwich elsewhere. Oh and they will nickle and dime you here for any veggie they feel is "extra" on your sandwich. If you want an AMAZING Subway sandwich and the best customer service ever go to the one in Tigard across from Fred Meyer!! Only a few minutes away and a million times better. Amazing owner...the gal is so much fun, and is there working side by side with her staff to ensure great quality and experience. A week ago Tuesday, there was a new guy and he was incredibly friendly and a great sandwich maker. He is learning fast because I have a difficult order and he nailed it. Keep up the good work. This place must be more expensive than the other Subways, $4.50 for a Veggie Delight 6" as opposed to the $3 Veggie Delight price I'm used to. I got this a small cup of soup for $7, the soup was lumpy and scraped out of the tray so I regret not speaking up and cancelling it when he started scraping it out of the container. The guy working was nice though, just overpriced compared to the other franchise options and the soup shouldn't be served in that condition. The manager/owner lady with the heavy accent is incredibly rude and demanding. She makes me uncomfortable and always is hostile towards her employees. I want to come to a place where I'm appreciated as a person, not a sandwich and a price tag. Also, where the employees are appreciated. Happy, not rushed employees make better sandwiches. Oh my what a morning! For whatever reason, my daughter loves subway sandwiches. So, who am I to not be father of the year and give her what she wants every now and then, even if its against my better judgement and budget. So, Sunday morning was day 2 of a volleyball camp at Lewis & Clark so my daughter and her friend wanted subway sandwiches for lunch. No problem, we'll swoop by there before camp and set them up for lunch. Well, the camp started at 9am and the Terwilliger store doesn't open until 9am so we had to go to plan B. I'll drop them off at camp, run back to Terwilliger Subway which is only 4 minutes away, and go back and make the drop at camp. Well, I get back to Terwilliger Subway and 2 employees roll into the store around 8:58am which I thought was odd timing to get the fresh bread rolling and ready to go. Anyhow, I was surfing around the web for a few minutes and didn't walk up to the door until 9:05am. Its locked and the girls clearly see i'm standing there, so I give it a couple more minutes. Next time I look up there is no one in sight, i knock on the door, no answer so i call the store # at 9:17 and I think i get the owner and tell her the door is locked. By 9:20, i've had it so I go to plan C which is the Barbur Subway. Arrive there at 9:25 and that door is locked, (sign says open at 9am). I hear the music playing, smell the fresh bread, but nobody is in sight, must have been in the back room but there are two way mirrors so i hazard a guess they know i'm there. I give that all of 5 minutes(they are getting 1 star too) and decide to move on to the Capitol Hwy Subway. I arrive there to a gal who looks like just rolled out of bed and proceed to my order, make small talk and I'm good to go. Last thing she says to me "I closed last night and had to open today, i'm a wreck". Felt bad for her but obviously poor scheduling by the management. Its now 9:36am, and by the time i get back to Lewis & Clark its 9:45. So, thats 30 minutes of my life I won't be getting back thanks to Subway. In some ways I feel bad because I believe this is a bigger issue in America of finding good help and retaining it with minimum wages. Must be tough on the manager but if you say you are open at 9am, make it happen even if it HAS TO BE YOU THAT OPENS THE STORE! read more

They're like any other Subway I've been to. The people are polite, the bread is stale, the sandwiches are generally overpriced (compared to somewhere like Big Town Hero). It's a good 24 hours place though, so I'll keep stopping by every now and then. read more

Quality is very poor, sandwich fell apart immediately, bread was stale, the manager is pushy and aggressive, and blasting the Christian prayer music at max volume is, ummmmm, not conducive to a pleasant meal. The store owner seems like she's constantly high on adderall and she's way too pushy towards her employees who really seem like they're desperate to quit. The bread isn't made every day as they should be. She keeps the same old pieces of bread days after they've been taken out of the oven (I've worked here for 7 months and this is true). Every night when the store closes, Subways require that the bread remaining in the cabinet is thrown away. Same thing with the cookies. Fresh cookies MUST be baked every day in the morning as said right on the cookie cabinet. The owner doesn't allow that in any of her four subway stores. The same stale, hard, disgusting bread is kept in the cabinet in order to "save money and time" along with the cookies. The owner does not care about any customers. She only cares about making profit. Do yourself a huge favor and don't support her poorly-managed stores. It is not worth it. read more

I will not go back to this location. Second time in a row that the bun tasted old. I asked my 10 year old daughter how she liked her sandwich and she said the bun didn't taste very good.
