The front of subway.
Melody R.

I know people wanna get off early especially if holidays, cold, and darker during winter time but come on. It's a a whole 15 minutes. Stay open as the hours are stated. We walked past as it was open.....cool, we'll be back before it closes. We came back to be disappointed. I was looking forward to a good subway sandwich but oh well. Don't trust this subway hours. That's all I gotta say.

Ordering breakfast

Usually I'm a fan of Subway but for some reason, this establishment in particular, is very sub par compared to the other establishments I've entered. I can guarantee it has to do with the location. There's so much foot traffic going on that the tables and chairs are always in a disarray. Half the times I've gone there was a homeless or deranged person making it feel uncomfortable to the patrons. During lunch time rush hour a queue always builds up, sometimes reaching all the way to the door. The food itself is fine and good, but this particular Subway suffers from the location. Always hectic during the rush and during the down time it gets occupied by a homeless person. Pros: 1. Relatively cheap compared to other places in downtown financial district San Francisco 2. Has a decent breakfast menu and it's always empty in the morning Cons: 1. Lunch time rush hour gets crazy 2. Attracts homeless people

Meatball sub

It's Subway, what do you expect?! It's okay...I've had better. They're pretty much all the same but this one felt dirtier than the rest. Is that possible? Maybe because Occupy was here not too long ago and I felt itchy knowing they were there. My meatball sub http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=GaN5wnk-FlEm4XCk0KkbDQ&userid=CAveDmi9tYg3Gbs9VVnm2Q wasn't as good as I remembered. I think I had my first Subway meatball sub in Richmond...that was WAY better than the one I had recently. Maybe it wasn't as hot as I expected...maybe it just tasted different...

This Subway doesn't accept online coupon and just cancels your order without any explanation. Steer cleer of this gloomy store.

Usually I'm not against fast food. Especially when it's in a convenient location. But the service is not so good.

Thoroughly mediocre breakfast sandwich. But it was hot, made to order, and was better than a piece of toast.

Ordered and walked out in the span of 10 min. Very italian deli with tiramisus and cannolis. Tons of italian snacks and puff pastries, and a convenient location to pickup anything from beers/wines to premade cannoli shells and gelato. One thing to note is you cannot customize the sandwich, not sure about the pizzas, which smelled delicious. They only make speciality sandwiches on their menu, but surely can't go wrong with any of the choices. They're packed with a sizeable amount of meat as well as greens. The half was enough to fill me up and they were kind enough to wrap them separately.

Limoncello is one of my favorite sandwich spots in San Francisco. I regularly get the Caprese…read moresandwich with avocado added, and it's consistently delicious. The fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and quality bread make for a simple but perfectly executed sandwich, and the avocado addition makes it even better. The service is always friendly and efficient, whether you're stopping in for a quick lunch or taking your time looking through the shop. The atmosphere has that classic Italian deli feel -- casual, welcoming, and full of character. I also love that it's more than just a sandwich shop; the deli includes an Italian market with imported products, specialty items, and other treats that make it fun to browse while you're there. They also have multiple locations throughout San Francisco, which makes it convenient when you're craving a great Italian sandwich. The biggest downside is the price. Limoncello is definitely on the expensive side for a sandwich, especially if you add extras, so it's more of an occasional treat than an everyday lunch spot. But the quality of the ingredients and the overall experience keep me coming back. A great neighborhood deli for anyone looking for a fresh Italian sandwich, friendly service, and a little taste of Italy in the city.

I got the Carzle and the meats are definitely the star of the show here; the brisket and pastrami were so juicy, smoky and complimented all the veggies great. However, of course, it is incredibly expensive; even sharing a half with a buddy puts you at $15 each after tip/tax. While tasty, it's a little less than expected/underwhelming for that price point. I don't see myself really coming here too often unfortunately, so many other cheaper and just as delicious eats in the city. Seems like this place definitely caters to a certain crowd in the area that are more than happy to make this their daily lunch spot so I don't see that changing any time soon

But more than just the sandwich- the owner and all of the employees are incredibly kind and clearly care about their community. I read in another review that they saw the owner usher in a homeless man and I saw a similar act of kindness. The regulars also have a great rapport with the owner and they honestly just give GOOD VIBES. The good vibes must have been contagious because we were behind a Romanian father and his two sons who ended up paying for the older woman in front of them. Def worth the visit if you're in the area!

This is probably the only place where the sandwiches don't taste like the store's essence…read more I mean, don't get me wrong, a store's essence from any given deli/liquor store definitely adds unique character to the sandwich and sometimes I want that in a sandwich. But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Service is good and ambiance is a small humble shop on the corner of 12th Ave.

Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.
