The bread still bears those telltale baking lines from a process unseen and better left unimagined. No, the tectonic shift has occurred elsewhere: in management, yes, but more precisely in atmosphere, which is to say in spirit. One used to enter and be greeted not only by the staff but by the soft, almost imperceptible strains of instrumental Christian music. It did not evangelize. It did not intrude. It merely hovered... a gentle presence, like sunlight through frosted glass. There was a sense of peace to it, a kind of ambient benevolence that seemed to infuse not just the air but the employees themselves. The customers, too, responded. One could not fail to notice it. There were smiles. There was lightness. People chatted in line. They held the door for one another. I do not suggest that the music converted them, but it did seem to bathe the room in a warmth that exceeded the wattage of the fixtures. Now it is gone. The music, that is. Replaced by some uninspired autotuned din that neither offends nor uplifts. And with it, something else has departed. The staff, once marked by a quiet cheerfulness, now operate with a muted apathy. There are fewer smiles. The art of sandwich assembly, once performed with a kind of modest pride, now feels perfunctory. The toppings are dispensed with the hesitance of rationed goods. The avocado no longer flows freely. One is tempted to ask whether the two phenomena, the music and the mood, are unrelated. But in this particular setting, in this small corner of spiritual commerce, I am not so sure. The soul of a place is a delicate thing. Change the tone, and the substance often follows. It is, as I say, unfortunate. One can still get a sandwich. But one no longer leaves with quite the same sense of uplift. A measure of grace has been lost. Ventured to this Subway location quite a few times now! It's the closest to my house and with its new renovations, it's definitely a lot more inviting. The sandwiches have always been consistent and the staff here are friendly! Just hoping that this location could become 24 hours one day! read more

This Subway looks much better since being remodeled. I started a low carb diet at the beginning of 2020 so Subway's chopped salads are a quick lifesaver if you're hungry and need something fast! The ladies here (I've only been helped by females) are always nice and never seem annoyed by my pain in the butt order of two chopped salads (which obviously takes twice as long as a sub). I get the Subway Club chopped salad with the majority of toppings (pretty much everything) and with all that it's honestly pretty filling (as filling as a salad can be!). This is one of 3 subways in my immediate areas. This location I always felt made their sandwiches the best. I went in to get a meatball marinara sub on wheat. No wheat was available. I was told i had to have my sandwich on a white Italian bun. "Stop the press". As long as i can remember, before Jarrod got skinny, you always had a choice to choose the roll you wanted for your sandwich. In fact, after they ask you what sandwich you wanted, they then asked which bread, and "6 on or 12 in". Imagine my surprise when I have to argue with an employee about what I want on my sandwich and being told I can only have it on the one roll when I am looking at, at least 8 different rolls, in the oven behind him. Not sure what is going on but they should do some more training at this location. read more

This is a clean store, and the staff have been there forever. They are very kind, and polite. Normally the Subway process is to make your sub within 90 seconds. These people can crank it out when they have to, but what I like is that they work quickly, without making a sub that looks rushed. They are also very good about keeping the various meats and other items on the sandwich board at the right temperature (which is really a mission-critical element when dealing with deli meats). The manager even spot checks this with a digital probe to assure things are just right. When asking to have certain types of sub rolls toasted, they are very accommodating, and understand that sometimes you want the bread just a little crisp, but not immolated. It's attention to detail like this which lets me know they are worth a visit again. read more

This subway offers a new clean interior and plenty of seating. It is well decorated and has big windows for good lighting. But on to the more important part.. the food! Most subways serve the same thing, so if you've been to one, you've been to all. As long as they don't make your sub like a taco, where the meat is on the bottom where the bread folds and vegetabes on the top, you're good. I like to get the chicken teriyaki with double meat and bacon, on toasted italian herbs and cheese! I add letucce, tomatos, lots of jalapeno peppers and the spicy red peppers. Be sure to also get lots of mayo (and also light mayo if you're on a diet... lol), teriyaki sauce, oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. mmmmmM. Eat your sub with original sun chips, gives a nice little crunch to your meal. then for dessert, try the oatmeal rasisin and macadamia nut cookies. Delicious! read more

For a subway this is a great one! I have no complaints! They just recently renovated and it looks fresh and clean! They also have a fancy soda machine in there now. I'm not a soda drinker but I know people who do drink it love it! I always get the subway club salad with pretty much everything on it!! Now the secret to getting anything at subway is their chipotle mayo sauce!! It's just the best!! I crave it all the time! It's a bit spicy, tangy, and bbq-y! This location always ha fresh veggies and meat! I never have to ask them to bring out fresh stuff like I have to at most subways. Most importantly the customer service here is great!! Lots of times I find at subways they're always stingy etc. not this one! You can also have your salad chopped up! But after spending 2 hours volunteering with a small group of 3rd graders (my salute to all teachers, don't know how you do it) and needing to feed a husband, who has jammed his ankle into a pulp sliding into first base playing softball (a salute to nurses), Subway on the way home is looking pretty decent for a quick and easy lunch. There is a small line, two of the people in front of me are police officers, probably since there is a station not too, too far away. There are three employees at the stations, one slicing bread and putting meats and cheeses on the bread, or not for vegetarians; one putting on the variety of "toppings"; and one cashier. They are all pleasant and efficient and the line moves quickly. I have a pretty decent lunch for husband and me, no clean up, pleasant experience at this Subway so it's all good. read more

Went there this last saturday around 2pm. Food was pretty good, but the lady making my sandwich was very, actually EXTREMELY rude. I asked for a six inch sub on wheat, and she started making a 12 inch. I kindly corrected her saying I wanted a 6 inch, and she said "No you asked for a 12 inch sandwich, now you change your mind..." and began mummbling more adlibs in spanish... EXCUSE ME? lol Another MUCH NICER lady took over after this chick (with a horrible blond dye job) stormed off into the back. I didnt make you work here, don't take your bad day out on me. True confession: I eat here at least once a week. Why? 1) I love sandwiches. My usuals are the turkey or egg sandwiches (assuming I make it before 10AM). 2) Super fast service. The lines can be out the door during lunch hours but I promise it moves super fast. 3) Inexpensive but good. As far as food goes, it's a typical Subway in which you build your own sandwich. Staff is very friendly and the place is clean with plenty of seating upstairs. The sandwich shop is next to one of GW's undergrad buildings and the Marriott Courtyard Hotel with some other shops (Starbucks and Which Wich) just around the corner. Thus, there are many undergrad students. Since it's near all the monuments, there are frequently tourists as well. Don't let this scare you away though. There are many professionals looking for a quick bite as well. read more

This particular Subway has been my go-to breakfast/lunch spot for a couple years now. The employees are friendly, the store is well kept, there is always enough seating, and prices are generally very good.
