And both areas were pretty full with a bustling vibe. There were specialty drinks so I wanted to try the Pistachio latte but they were out so we ended up trying the Left Coast latte, Vanilla Bean latte, a plain bagel and Lil Dippers. The lattes were wonderful. Smooth and tasty. The Lil Dippers (mini burritos) were pretty substantial and the plain bagel surprisingly was the best we've ever had at any coffee place. SO good! Great taste and perfect texture. It was unfortunate though that the cream cheese cup that comes with it didn't suffice. It wasn't at all enough for a good ratio. And to think that at one point my bagel was forgotten by the employees. I would've missed out! Overall, we're so glad we went, it was worth it!

The peach dessert was gorgeous in the case but I think the way it was served in an oversized plastic container that I'm guessing they also use to sandwiches did make the experience feel a little less luxe. I think for $15 it could have been in an appropriately sized container. It was nice tasting, but I'm not sure I would come here again.

I loved how bold and intense the flavor of the coffee was without it being overwhelming; however, I did not taste the banana or maple flavors at all. It just tasted like a straight up sweetened iced latte. Don't get me wrong, it's a great latte. But I guess I was just expecting to get more of the banana and maple flavors, especially since I was pretty excited about that flavor combination. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the ambiance was great. I love that they have their roasting machine right where people can observe and watch the process if they wanted to. They have ample tables and chairs indoor, and a few outdoor as well. I'm pretty sure I'll be coming back here. I'll probably try the Caramel Cream Latte next time.

It's a very small but cute place, a miniature of the bigger Pannikin off Highway 101 in Encinitas. There's a couple of small tables on its patio and more inside. It's a great place to meet a friend or two for coffee. I went 2 days in a row, Friday afternoon and mid-morning on Saturday and both times weren't busy at all. The baristas are warm & friendly, and gave us a choice of using ceramic cups and/or plates if dining in or to-go containers. Their coffee is one of the best around and they sell their coffee beans here. They also have various baked goods they make on site which I was excited for, because their scones are my absolute favorite, especially the raspberry. So happy to have found this place and recommended it to family and friends. We'll definitely be back!

The Carlsbad spot has a slightly more extensive menu -- especially with the pizzas -- but the Encinitas location is just as good and always worth the stop. My personal favorites are the ham and gruyère baguette and the Pizza Florentine, and their cookies are dangerously good. And if you're a coffee person, you'll be happy here -- their espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos are consistently great. What I wanted to shoutout in particular was the stellar customer service we received. We visited today, on 8/22, around 11am. I wish we would have gotten the barista's name who rang us up- but he was just spectacular. My mom has an autoimmune disease and some days are just harder than others in terms of us getting out of the house and enjoying some mother-daughter time. He really seemed genuine in his interaction, particularly with my mom, and it made her morning. Thank you kind sir for your heart and kindness- I want you to know that you made an impact!
